About Randall & Aubin Spinningfields
Randall & Aubin is an Anglo/French Brasserie that specialises in seafood and has been delighting foodies, fans and celebrities for the past twenty years - all of whom come looking for an outstanding meal and a fabulous time beneath the glittering disco ball. Relaxed, fun and approachably luxurious, this is a place where lobster and steak are served with a side of good humour and a wink as sparkling as the champagne.
Our first visit and we were very impressed. Our server was excellent (Latvian lady). It was my wife’s birthday and she really appreciated the birthday cake. We’ll be back.
The staff were very attentive and made us feel special
Very enjoyable and great value
I really enjoyed my visit to Randall and Aubin, however I think there are areas which require improvements. The major one being portion size / value for money. Everything I ate was delicious, but the starter and main course were far too small and DEFINITELY far too small given the price of the dishes. I ordered a Special Main Course of Roast Turbot with Scallop and Crab Pasta. The Crab Pasta was delicious, but one scallop and one tiny piece of Turbot is not enough for a main course. A lot of side orders were needed. I also think the service could be improved upon, I didn’t have the greatest confidence that everyone fully knew what they were doing. The disco ball in the dining room was also a very odd addition. If the portion size and/or prices improved I would be back, but otherwise I won’t!
Lovely food and great value for money. This is one of my favourite places in town
First visit - food was good but portions a bit on the small side. Service was excellent and a lovely place to visit.
What a find! We really enjoyed our evening, lovely food, great service and very warm and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
First time visit and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, great service and food.
Had fish chips an peas lovely thin crisp batter
Great food, excellent service.
Truly enjoyable experience!
Great food, fabulous value, excellent service. It should be busier
This restaurant is excellent in every way. It was our fist time visiting, and we were instantly made feel at welcome by the staff and the cosy decor. The food was absolutely delicious, our waiter was very attentive but not too invasive. Although it’s a high-end restaurant (and we were dressed smartly for the occasion) it wasn’t so fancy that it felt snobbish. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and clearly everyone (smartly dressed or just casual) would be welcome. Finally, the staff got wind that it was our wedding anniversary so they brought down lovely little celebratory dessert for us. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. We’ll definitely be back!
We found the restaurant walking towards city centre, we went there twice during 5 days and both times we were both very satisfied. The food was very good and the NYE menu had a clever choice of dishes and a reasonable price. The waitress were also very kind and welcoming.
It’s a decent seafood restaurant, but it is not nearly up to the standards of a genuine French brasserie, which it pretends to emulate. On the positive side, the first and main courses were well presented and prepared, from a well balanced menu. But that menu said that the fish soup came with rouille, whereas in reality it came with aioli. Now, I like aioli, but soupe de poisson (as the menu calls it) needs rouille. What really exposed the restaurant’s weakness was that when I told the staff, they said that rouille and aioli were the same thing and had clearly no idea what rouille is! What made matters worse was that the glass of wine that I ordered, to accompany the main course, did not arrive at all. I decided not to get up again to ask for it, as I was tired of doing the job of the staff. The desserts were OK but rather heavy. The bill of £71 for three courses for two people was not excessive for such good food, but as an overall experience it was disappointing.
Very much enjoyed our visit, would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone!!
Absolutely amazing food! We started with 6 oysters and quickly ordered another 6 they were so delicious! Our main courses we equally amazing and we opted for a bottle of Picpoul de de Pinot.... superb! Service was incredible and knowledgable. We cannot wait to return to this amazing place on our next visit to Manchester... it certainly made the start of our New a Year’s Eve memorable!
We had a lovely meal, Sunday lunches and steaks. Everything was excellent. The waiting staff were friendly and professional. Will definitely be coming again.
Excellent front of house, so welcoming Excellent service Beautifully decorated for Christmas My starter and main really good My husband felt his starter bit small but loved the crab mains We mentioned his espresso very bitter so they apologised. All told a very good visit, would return 👍
Great food. Great service. See you again soon.
Fish pie was mostly mashed potato - very minimal fish on a £20 serving. Chips were under cooked and too pale a colour. Automatically adding a £19 tip is just wrong & outdated practice Otherwise very nice meal.
Service a little slow on second round of drinks. Not sure if service was slow or order forgotten?
Fantastic meal and service we would definitely recommend and will be returning!
Beautiful meal, had the calamari to start, best calamari I’ve ever eaten.
