About Waterloo Hotel
After a busy day exploring Snowdonia there’s no doubt you’ll be ready to sample some hearty Welsh produce, here at the Bridge Restaurant and Bar 1815 we serve a menu which is inspired by our surroundings.
Not forgetting our incredibly rich coastline which delivers some outstanding seafood and fish produce like Menai Mussels or line caught Llandudno Sea Bass. Our Head Chef and his team aim to bring you dishes which are anchored in our rich heritage and delivered with a twist.
We don’t stop with the adults – our children’s menu is abound with healthy or those ‘little bit naughty’ choices that’ll keep everyone happy!
We enjoyed our stay once again although my wife felt the GF food options were not as comprehensive as our previous stay. We do appreciate that the current situation may well be the key factor here. The staff were friendly and attentive and worked hard under demanding circumstances.
Would have liked the fire on. Just a bit chilly with the air conditioning.
I understand that the menu has to be limited due to the pandemic but the selection was extremely limited and no drinks menu. I ordered the Welsh lamb which was £19. I was told that it takes 25 minutes to cook which I was pleased to hear as it meant it would be cooked fresh. However 5 minutes later it turned up and clearly hadn't been cooked fresh and more likely microwaved. The lamb was over cooked. My son had the pizza from the kids menu which he didn't like. It looked undercooked and the tomato sauce looked and tasted like pure tomato puree to us. Very disappointing as I have had some lovely food here before and was really looking forward to our booking at the restaurant. It was our first evening and meal of the holiday so I didn't want to make a fuss in front of my son plus the waiting staff were very friendly which made complaining about the food awkward.
We enjoyed an excellent meal served by efficient and friendly staff in a lovely relaxed atmosphere with all current safely issues being followed.
Lovely stay in superior lodge in beautiful surroundings Big comfy bed good night's sleep Staff worked hard with all the new covid restrictions in place. Lovely breakfast Enjoyable stay round stay again if in area
The staff were so lovely and kind - thank you very much. It must be so hard during Covid. In our rooms (35 and 37) the bathroom fan went on all night - disturbing sleep.
Very enjoyable experience!
Covid protection very good, service very good, food was very nice and a relaxing atmosphere. So overall I enjoyed my experience at the Waterloo.
No air con, only radiators in my room....room quite warm so needed window open but there was a wasp nest very close by. Suggest each room have a fan available.
Fantastic stay - loved everything about the hotel and the staff were so friendly and helpful, Covid preventions taken seriously which was great, food, cleanliness, atmosphere, room all absolutely brilliant. Special mention to Lori on reception and Olive in the bar/restaurant - went above and beyond for us, such lovely people, as were all the staff we spoke to as well.
We had a great stay at the Waterloo and everything had been organised extremely well to minimise the impact of Covid. Staff are very accommodating and helpful, the food was excellent and the rooms are well decorated, clean and comfortable. This is one of my favourite places to stay.
Wasn’t the best food we had; fish was quite greasy and lamb quite tough. Atmosphere was flat. Wouldn’t recommend.
Excellent service from the staff
Everything wowed us, except the serving at the restaurant. I had there 4 meals (2 breakfasts and 2 dinners). First dinner (I really recommend the lamb) went normal. Then, first breakfast, the waiter forgot to bring us the food, I had to go a second time to ask for it, after I saw that 3 tables that came after me and one of them ordered the same food as I did, received it. Second dinner, even if the lamb is supposed to be just cooked, mine was clearly reheated and the veggies well over-boiled (not soté, as in menu) and the lady who sat near my table, had different vegetables than I had (more types). The waiter also forgot to bring my gf the soup she ordered. For the second breakfast the waiter forgot to bring us the toast and I had to ask for a glass of juice twice, but still left without receiving it. (I’m all 4 cases, the restaurant was not busy and there were minimum 3 waiters) So long story short, I do recommend the hotel, but I don’t recommend the restaurant, and not because of the food, but because of the serving.
We waited longer than is usual for our main courses. The set up of the restraunt was exellent felt very safe
Very good service and excellent food but Gentlemens toilet needs to have a clearer signage as most men were using the disabled toilet by the ladies
Turned up on spec to this hotel looking for one overnight stay. The outside area looked so pretty. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The hygiene standards because of covid are very good. Our Temperature was checked at reception and going in for dinner. Screens between the tables and staff masked. Saw the tables and chairs being cleaned. Hotel has a pool but didn’t try it. Was advised to contact them first thing about a slot as was closed on our arrival.
We had lovely evening & food was lovely the staff was excellent we felt safe we see you soon thankyou
To be fair, some staff were awkward. I recall we were not permitted to order toast until we received our cooked breakfast! Why?!? Just really puts you off. One waiter was so grumpy and sad looking, she really didn’t want to be there, why was she there? Why didn’t she get sent home. Staff that greet with a smile and a can do attitude is what I want. No proper coffee at breakfast was a disappointment. No apples. No hot chocolate. No pastries. Double bed was more like a large single. Bedroom was dated. Great location though. Wouldn’t go back in a rush.
Lovely place. Very COVID safe which affects the atmosphere a bit but not much can be done about that. You park right outside your room which is really handy.
Great meal again
I did not get a double but two twins pushed together. Nor was it a zip and link. This should have been highlighted at check in. So I did not get the bed type I booked. The sofa bed was very bad and the springs could be felt. One child ended up on our bed. So please change the sofa bed. Had issues with the shower In the evening but was fine in the morning. The bed change should have been highlighted upon checkin. Otherwise service at dinner and breakfast was good and well organised. Pool facilities was well organised as well. Staff were great in the restaurant and leisure facilities. But at £215 a night, the room did not meet my expectations. However, these are difficult times and I appreciate all the efforts put in to keep us safe.
Best Hotel I have stayed in!! The lodge rooms are perfect for a more private stay. All staff are very friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Will definitely be booking the Waterloo Hotel again.
Very limited food choices for mains dinner, the beer was flat, the room was very hot with no ac or fan and we couldn't sleep. Overall wasn't great value for money.
