About Brickhouse Social
The “BrickHouse Social” on New Wakefield Street is to be the latest addition to Oxford Road’s bustling neighbourhood. What was once named the “worst street in Manchester” is now home to a social second to none.
Be it starting your day at the “brew bar” on our roof-top terrace, to a cheeky game of pool over lunch before wrapping up for the day with a cocktail or pale ale and kicking back with our live acoustic. Sliding into Saturday with bottomless brunch in the sunshine before bringing in the Sunday chills after a night in our underground club & event space!
From coffee co-operative to live music lounge with cafe cocktails & carafes. From tap room & pool hall to fresh plates from our kitchen and beats from our basement this is a house for all.
We pre booked a table for 4 here for Saturday evening having never been before. We were sat upstairs so can't comment about the other floors but we loved it. Loved the music, the server was very helpful, great atmosphere and it's partly exposed to the outside which was great for a bit of fresh air.
Very nice inside, good prices for drinks, good chilled night
Poor social distancing Did not feel comfortable and wouldn't recommend
Thankyou for making my 21st birthday very special 🥰
we made a reservation as part of an evening for my daughters 21st birthday to sit in the rooftop garden as it had a good review on an email I received, we arrived to be told it wasn't open in the week and it wouldn't be opened for us, luckily my son and daughter loved pool so enjoyed pool but it was a shame as it was a lovely evening!
Great room to cater for us, amazing pizzas!
Great space, cool garden upstairs. Friendly staff.
Was hoping to attend the roof top bar but was a private function up there! Service was good and would return
Such a relaxed space with amazingly friendly bar staff, everyone had such a great night. Will definitely be booking future events here for sure. Love this place! Thank you for having us!
Friendly and cramming staff with good choice of drinks and pool tables which are great way to spend time with friends
We had a reservation for yesterday (25th July), were seated quickly but in a very small corner on a 4 person table (there were 6 of us). The method of ordering was fine and the drinks came quickly, but they tasted awful. It was almost as if they had been in the dishwasher but hadn't been rinsed. We suspected it might have been a pipe that needed cleaning for the draught, but my cocktail was the same. We didn't finish our drinks. The toilets were not in a good state - there was no toilet roll in any cubicle, very little handwash and no paper towels for drying hands. They were also very small with no measures for social distancing which was a concern. We had the table for two hours but eventually left after 45 minutes (once the huge group of 50+ people had finally moved from the front door, not really following any guidelines there, ey?) Unlikely to return unless there's a huge improvement and the drinks taste like they're meant to instead of Dettol.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. We were a little unsure about seating and ordering arrangements when we arrived. Suggest adding a few items to menu, even just salad, garlic bread or fries to complement the pizzas. We frequented this venue before lockdown and will come again.
The service was great. The guy serving us was nice and friendly! I only marked down for atmosphere because, when booking we were asked if we were there to watch the football, but there was loud music played and no commentary. And again, only marked down on value for money, because it was advertised as "£2.50 pints" but this was a pitcher and so the beer went a bit warm by the time we got to the 2nd pint, but only because there was 2 of us. So we just thought it would have been better to be able to get a single pint on the deal. But otherwise, great service and felt very comfortable with the social distancing. Thanks very much :)
Toilets was too full. Also people was round the pool table about 4 or 5 at time. The staff was very nice but people were not controlled. Think there should been 2 people in the toilets at a time and staff clean the toilets every so often. Also there should be two at the pool table at a time. And the cues and balls should be cleaned everytime there used. I know it's your first time but more care and safety needs to be done. Went to blackdog and they seemed more organised. Great staff your place good luck. I'll be back.
had a great time !!
Refused to give me a refund for karaoke room even though the hen party will no longer be going ahead due to COVID 19. Not a way to keep customers going forward
Really attentive staff, lovely food. Will be back again for the 90’s brunch!
The food was not great and the drinks (both quality and selection) were very poor. The cocktails tasted and looked like a beaker of squash with ice and didn't taste like there was any alcohol. The standard bottomless brunch list of drinks had a wider selection but we were handed a piece of paper with a smaller list and told the other menu did not apply today. There was no-one else there except our party of 5 because everyone else had cancelled due to it not being 80s themed for this particular week - had we known this we probably would have gone elsewhere. We paid extra for the one off house themed week which was just a DJ and no theme to speak of at all. The whole experience was very poor and not worth £30 per person. We did however get a discount after complaining and some free shots and the staff were nice...
A great venue for a 21st Celebration. The staff were all so helpful and ensured we had a fantastic time!
Great time here on Friday again, love the food and drinks - don't love the hangover the next day though!
Really enjoyed it! Great venue on roof top terrace, nice food, great tunes & atmosphere & good service keeping drinks topped up! Also the added extra of the karaoke room was a fun way to finish. Only negative was the portion size of pancake dishes compared to the breakfast dishes but otherwise a fab experience!
We’ll what can I say, we had a scream at the 80s brunch... couldn’t fault it one bit and had a great time! We will defo be back
Did the 80s bottomless brunch, was a great atmosphere but felt things should have been explained to us on arrival about what was included and not. Service was fine and food was fine. Drinks were weak but tasty.
Great service, great staff and a good time was had by all. Many thanks and would definitely recommend. Make sure you get your booking in early! :)
