The ethos of Brewhemia is, 'For the love of adventure' which is encapsulated in the five separate areas, each with their own story to tell.
Lovely bar ,helpful and efficient staff, loved the boudoir bar
More cocktail selection
Excellent evening again. I will continue to recommend to friends
Wasn't overly impressed with the food. Nice decor but felt the place was slightly lacking an atmosphere
We celebrated two 40th birthdays in the bothy on Friday night and had a fantastic time!
Fantastic place, could have had the live music on a little earlier maybe, ended up spending our whole evening with you... great night
Something a bit different for Edinburgh, but is it a pub or is it a restaurant? Table service and Pilsner Urquell very good. All a bit pricey and food ordinary but would go back.
Returned French union soup, I need to let you know it's the worst soup we have ever tasted! The mussels were lovely but not enough sauce to dip bread into. The rest of the meal was good but over priced.
We reserved an area for a large group of us and everyone had a great night.
Price was average. Food and drink was fine, though thought the food menu was a little limited. Quiet enough for us to hear each other, but enough of a buzz to give it a bit of an atmosphere, which is what we wanted. I think we were there for about 6 hours or so and Initially the service was very slow and very hard to catch anyone. Last couple of hours this improved hugely. Would go back. V handy for the station.
We experienced an absolutely fabulous afternoon/evening. All staff serving us were very attentive and informative. Brewhemia is beautiful inside and offers something for everyone. We really enjoyed our lunch and I can highly recommend the Lettuce Wraps with King Prawns & Salmon. So good! Looking forward to coming back for more.
We both felt the volume of the music was too loud to be able to have a good conversation when we were eating. We had a table close to the bar in the main beer hall. The music was at a far better level in the front bar as we passed through on our way out. Due to this, we left after our meal to went to a nearby bar instead of staying on at Brewhemia. On this basis I'd recommend for drinks but not sure I'd recommend for a meal unless there are quieter areas to eat.
We reserved a place a few weeks in advance for a social leaving drinks event (for approximately 20 people) and were seated in the boudoir area with only one small table. The area was far too small for the number of guests and was too quiet and out of the way from the atmosphere of the main areas. I spoke to various staff members and finally someone was able to help and we were re-seated by the upstairs bar behind the band. This was fine. We ordered food (I.e 2 trios of chips, 2 chicken wings and 2 warm flat breads) as snacks for the party and this was ordinary. I didn't eat much of it. The main problem was that I had placed a deposit of £50 and bought the food against this. This left £12 which I was informed would not be refunded. Apparently this is their policy. I don't understand how you can just take someone's money without giving them anything in return. It was a deposit and therefore (by definition) should have been refunded. I didn't want to make a scene at the end of the night so I left it. But this has left a really bad taste in my mouth in terms of the experience and unfairness to customers. The atmosphere (in the place where we were re-seated) to be fair was nice and the band was good. Regards Mischa
My favourite place! Fabulous atmosphere, great service and good food. Will definitely return soon!
First visit, love the refurb, great friendly service, dishes were tasty and good value. The first of many visits!
Great service and great food.
Absolutely loved Brewhemia, can't wait to go Back! Fantastic restaurant/bar with amazing staff 😘
Great Venue, whether you are local to Edinburgh or a tourist just visiting, if you are looking for a fascinating & extraordinary venue for a night out you need to visit Brewhemia Highly recommended
We had an additional person arrive with the party and the staff were very quick to accommodate us with no fuss. Everything was great, only tiny complaint is that maybe you could leave the water at the table?
Visited with my mum and sister for Sunday lunch it was lovely, great friendly staff and can recommend the Edinburgh gin rhubarb crumble. Can't wait to visit after 5pm when the other bars open up. Just the kind of place that Edinburgh was crying out for.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere. Will be back......soon!
The waiting staff were really friendly and professional. Food was good and the beers were great. Loved the live music and atmosphere in general
Table was nice but slightly away from the main hall and no steak knifes!
Atmosphere was great, music was bouncing with live bands. However, my friend had ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and found some raw chicken. This caused worry and dread as she thought it may cause horrible food poisoning. Staff were on board and took her meal away and ensured her that she did not have to pay for her meal and also gave her a free drink. As this was handled well, this should have never happened in the first place. Really disappointed, it makes people wary on if they would return for food or not.,
It was 15 minutes after I was seated before someone came to take a drinks order. The food was poor quality/bland-mac cheese flavourless and hard round the edges, really disapointing. The service was quite mixed - sometimes noone to be seen for a long time and then other times we were deep in conversation, still eating/drinking and we were continually being interrupted asking to clear away plates etc. Table wasn't wiped down after main/before desert so we just did it ourselves with a serviette. The toilets and the stairs leading down to them looked dirty already/quite used despite this place being brand new and a lot of the toilets had tissue paper all over the floor. The general atmosphere/layout of the section we were in meant it felt like a loud brash Saturday afternoon boozer so was difficult to have a conversation. I was here the week before on Saturday night for drinks in a different section and much preferred it, so it obviously just depends where you are/time of day. Also was really surprised to find out there wasn't a cocktail menu as this place shouts about being a beer palace and having a prosseco bar - so no cocktails doesn't make sense. I was also informed the bubbles buttons weren't all wired in and all they did was send a waitress over, so not quite the feature I imagined and felt like a bit of a pointless gimmick.
