Great venue/location service was good.
The food we were given was very lovely and the venue is beautiful. It was incredibly busy, but that is understandable for a Friday night - if recommending to someone I would tell them that a private room is probably more preferable. I was, however, incredibly disappointed that the food we ordered was over an hour late despite us pre-booking for that time. I even spoke to Hannah the day of the event who confirmed the food would be arriving at 9pm, but it still arrived after 10pm. This meant that a lot of the people who were wanting food had already had to go home and really put a downer on the end of the event we were hosting. Considering how much money we paid for the food, how many people we brought to the bar to get drinks and that we ordered it well in advance, I think this is very disappointing.
The hostess Fern was/is first class. She’s charming, helpful and her interpersonal skills with customers was a joy to observe. All the staff who dealt with us were very good but Fern was outstanding!
Great spot with a comfortable atmosphere
lovely afternoon celebrating my dog marshalls sweet 16th , even got a rost beef birthday cake fab staff and great food.
We really enjoyed our meals, the food was of a good quality. It was only let down by the service which was very very slow. It was over an hour before before we got our main meal and then another long wait for dessert, this despite the waitress saying they were not busy.
I will always miss the taste of the delicious food
I pre booked a table for 6 approximately 2 weeks in advance. I’ve had lunch and drinks here before and, given the notice, had anticipated a comfortable booth for our party of discerning 60 year olds. I was really disappointed to be allocated a basic wooden table with uncomfortable seats, some without backs, in a beer hall with no atmosphere. As a former resident of Munich, this bears no resemblance to the bier halles, which is why I’d hoped for a more comfortable booth in the “nicer” area. A newcomer to the pub in our company compared it to Wetherspoon! Sadly, at twice the price of Wetherspoon, I expect more luxury and ambience ....
Lovely night Saturday night spent here with a group of friends . Such a novelty having different speciality bars . My favourite was the gin and prosecco bar. The barman was friendly and full of knowledge to advise us with our drinks . Great live music ! A photo booth ! And a button on table tor service ! Can't wait to go back . ! Well done brewhemia!
We had a lovely meal and a few drinks. Our waitress was so nice and helped us out finding out where our party was being held and how to get there too, very helpful. The atmosphere was great both early on in the evening and later on too. The two girls singing were fab and the band later on were really good too, from what I heard in the passing.
Nice food, good beers, nice atmosphere and good service.
Lovely attentive staff, plenty patience with the kids and adults. I’ve now visited in the evening with the girls and in afternoon with family and this place is a great all-rounder! Could find myself a regular and recommend anyone check it out.
Large booking and had been in regular correspondence with service manager Hannah Thompson, we had pre-booked food, and I was assured by return email that we would be starting service at 7.30, unfortunately this didn't happen and some of the party were still being served at 10pm....the bill was very confusing and the deposit of £150.00, hadn't been deducted at source leading to initial confusion over amount to be settled. Also included in service charges was 'entertainment fee', at no point had this been pointed out to me by Hannah and I feel that this is unfair to include in our final remittance without discussion. The atmosphere and the live entertainment were wonderful and really lifted the whole experience, but the point's raised above have left me with a bad taste in my mouth and not sure if I would recommend it as a venue for large groups and don't feel that I would return again.
Lovely atmosphere but food slightly overpriced for what it was! The staff were really nice but some looked like they didn’t want to be there. The host Claire was so nice she deserves a large amount of praise!
Excellent evening, amazing atmosphere and all staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Fab venue - waitress couldn’t have been nicer . The band were brilliant.
Would not plan to eat here at the same time again. Not a pleasant eating environment when people are jumping about and dancing on tables around you, putting their drinks on your table when you are trying to have a civilised meal. Go for food earlier before the entertainment begins or even if the diners could be seated in a different area and this would be a great night out.
great night. great atmosphere. bands were brilliant. food was tasty.
Very good staff, relaxed friendly and attentive Food was well presented and a good price. £16 for a roast and a pint. Only thing I'd change is the lighting is very bright
Superb venue in an excellent location! Perfect central meeting place especially if coming in by train! Staff really friendly & nothing too much bother! So many different areas to the venue & bright & spacious with good atmosphere. Visited for breakfast-Good coffee & tea but maybe could do with a larger coffee station to accomodate the size of the place & amount they'll be catering for. Can definitely recommend the Cinnamon brioche with Strawberry & Prosecco compote which two of us had. The poached eggs with avacodo were just a bit disappointing for the other two as eggs were on the hard side & the pancakes ordered were kind of dry around the edges but these were just minor kitchen errors that I'm sure are just teething issues. Overall it was a great visit to a fab stylish venue with cheery, helpful frontline staff and a great place to meet up with friends & family in the centre of Edinburgh, so will most certainly be back and also highly recommend. X
Had afantastic Friday night in here with mates. Great atmosphere, live bands, great selection of beers, good food. Definitely one of my favourite bars in town. But come on guys, £5.50 for a pint of Paulozzi is extortionate even in the city centre!!!
New favourite place! Great atmosphere. Live music is fantastic.
Great service, staff were so attentive, lovely food & great atmosphere.... would recommend to everyone x
