Basque influenced, rustic British restaurant in Shoreditch, featuring an open wood fire grill.
The food is not of the standard I expect in a Michelin star restaurant. The crab salad and leaf salad were over salted and inedible. We did not have to pay for them but it should never have happened. We ordered the £50 turbot but were charged £65. The turbot was good but when isn’t that fantastic fish excellent? The cooked oysters on the bed of seaweed were tasty and we enjoyed smelling the seaweed on which they were served .
Great menu and vibe, lovely food and service. I personally really enjoy the wine selection. Great for couples on a friday evening to enjoy themselves.

Fantastic meal, would love to go back. The baked cheesecake is one of the best things I've ever eaten. Only downside was that its on the first floor with no disabled access.

Excellent as usual but I'm afraid both my wife and I came down with food poisoning the next day. We can't be 100% sure it was the meal but it seems probable.
Absolutely love it here, it makes me so happy. The food is as delicious as the service and there’s always a great energy and atmosphere. By the time I’ve left I’m already trying to work out my next reason to return.
It was really delicious Only quibble was that the grilled bread (with truffle oil) disappointed. It was a bit stodgy this time, like an undercooked doughball, with less mushroom intensity than my previous visit when it was almost my favourite thing.
I don't think the taste is good. I have waited for a month after booked since Feb, but it is really not worth the wait.
Had an excellent lunch. Food was delicious Dover sole beef and monkfish and tomato dishes were our favourites

We had such a lovely evening celebrating my best friends belated birthday. The food, atmosphere and service was incredible and made the evening. It was a delight not to be rushed though a meal - especially one so good we really wanted to savour it Can’t wait to return!
Excellent food flavours - we had hot oysters, beef tartar, wood pigeon and place. And then there was the cheesecake. Without doubt the best I have ever tasted. And so light. Great wine pairings too, mostly from Spain. Attentive, relaxed service in a fun room.
This was my second visit to Brat, and I had high expectations. My first visit had been superb, so I booked a table for six people to show off the place to my friends. Alas, it was a disappointment. Most of the food was as good as I remember it, and the atmosphere was still great. But the service was terrible. Our waiter (Dan I think?) was thoroughly charmless. He had two modes - "I don't want to be here" and "I'm doing you a big favour". He brought the evening down and made what should have been a special occasion feel entirely average (except for the price tag). Sadly when the service is that bad, it's difficult to enjoy the evening, which makes it difficult to give the kitchen due credit. I don't think I'll be visiting again soon.
Service was amazing even though the place was fully booked up. Fresh delicious food that was imaginative but also comforting. Highly recommend.
Had a great meal (whole turbot was magnificent) and totally enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant and would certainly return again.

A great lunch....love the buzz of the place with chefs at work around you and serving lovely lovely food. This was my second visit and just as impressed as I was the first time.

That was phenomenal. Next time we’re ordering a whole anchovy loaf for each person and the fully pudding menu. I knew the cheesecake would be good but the cherry almond ice cream was OUTRAGEOUS!
Another superb meal at Brat - different and so pleasurable.
