Basque influenced, rustic British restaurant in Shoreditch, featuring an open wood fire grill.
Service staff were welcoming and professional. Food was fabulous, wine list was very good, the kitchen staff, considering the heat and pressure that they are under were exceptional. Thank you all for caring for my three kids and vegan wife.
a truly delightful lunch drank far too much but we really enjoyed it and hopefully be back soon
Wonderful evening with beautiful food and wine. The staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. Look forward to going again soon to try the Turbot as it was sold out! x
Amazing dinner once again, favourite restaurant in London by a long long way, cheers.
Turbot was amazing. Sirloin: quality of meat was ok, but cooked really well. The prawns could be better - they were not fresh Bread with girolles and truffles - they were ok but I would’ve preferred them on sourdough loaf of bread rather than a pizza base. Olive oil ice cream and cheesecake were really nice as well. Service was very good and attentive. Atmosphere was great.
Un joli moment et un bel accueil.. avec des papilles gustatives en émoi..! Merci beaucoup..!
We had read such wonderful reviews of the restaurant and decided to have my birthday meal, with my wife and our daughter, in Brat, We ordered the egg salad with Bottarga, langoustines and beef tartare as starters and the whole turbot with smoked potatoes and greens as the main. The starters were lovely. To be very honest I might have eaten better turbot elsewhere. The fish was mildly under seasoned and I didn’t quite fancy the sauce it was cooked in. But that may be only me, based on the other reviews I’ve read of the fish. We had the cheesecake, rice pudding and ice cream for dessert. Absolutely gorgeous. What does really set this restaurant apart are the absolutely lovely and professional staff. The sommelier (unfortunately I didn’t ask him his name) who worked with us really knew his stuff, was incredibly engaging and the wine he suggested was brilliant. Annie who looked after us with the food was lovely. So what might we do differently the next time, and there will be a next time? We will probably try the beef rib as the mains. We watched as a couple on the table next to us tucked in, and it looked gorgeous.
The service was friendly and knowledgable, and the restaurant was a perfect setting for a birthday meal. Most delicious lunch I've ever had.
The whole turbot was fantastic!
Appreciate being able to walk in without a reservation and sit at the bar. The turbot was sublime.
Best meal we have had in ages! The turbot and lamb chop were our favourites and the other dishes were top notch. The atmosphere, staff and general vibe were really excellent and meant we had such a brilliant evening. Particular shout out to our waiter for answering all our questions and his recommendations. Thank you!
Exceptional, thank you for an amazing evening which was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had
We had a fantastic dinner at Brat. It's an incredible vibe and the food superb. Thank you.
Amazing food & wine, Great people very knowledgeable on food & wine. This is my favourite place to eat in London. We keep going back and never are we disappointed. Consistency is the word. Alexandra is very good and knows all there is to know about wine!
Whole turbot absolutely fabulous. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly.
Answer your emails. I sent you three emails and you didn’t reply to any over the space of 36 hours.
Best restaurant in London by far! See you again very soon. I aim to try everything on your menu.
The best meal we have ever eaten. Was recommended by 2 foodie friends. Our friend Jake the chef was amazing. We loveddd our waiter, can’t remember his name.. blonde hair and big eyes. It was for my partners 30th and he had the best evening. Thank you xx
Delicious food in a vibrant and relaxed setting. Interesting wine list. Couldn’t ask for more really!
Probably the best fish we've had in London. Amazing dinner.
It's really is all about the quality of the ingredients combined with traditional cooking methods.
There's a very good reason that this place was recently voted the 2nd best restaurant in the country. The menu is simple yet perfectly executed, based on having the best ingredients treated with respect. Having the kitchen and dining room intertwined helps elevate the experience even further. I'd wanted to go for here for ages, will recommend it and go again myself - but order the turbot next time.
Food well below standard . Fish main course was poor. Poor presentation. Food over-salted. Same with with salad. Vegetarian dish specially prepped was amateur production. Cheese cake was great. Not sure how a Michelin was awarded here. Waiter was very good.
