Good value in that the stay included a meal and breakfast, but pictures not accurate. Staff really polite and helpful, moved us to a better room. Overall though very average.
The service was good when we saw them but we had to go to the bar to find someone to fresh our tea pots and then when we asked for milk and a fresh cup to go with the tea we also had to find someone to do this even though the staff said they where just going to donut. On that front a little disappointing
The service I had from Maria before the event was excellent, unfortunately requests for a change in the sandwiches had not been done and we had to wait while the sandwiches were made up,also we had to have the tea and coffee from the erns as you had run out of tea pots ,it wasn’t the experience I had paid for, left me feeling disappointed .Geraldine Ellis
This was the second time I have had afternoon tea with you and both were lovely experiences
Food was fantastic . So kind to my son and daughter. Relaxing place . Very helpful . Well done to the chef 👩🍳
The best afternoon tea myself & my wife have experienced to date. It will be fully recommended to friends an family. The staff were superb & so helpful.
fantastic service and food. Lovely Sunday roast. On a cold November day, it would be good to have the patio doors shut and a little more warm welcome lighting. Overall a lovely experience.
Been here 7 times before but golly it’s gone downhill Poor food Dirty communal areas No white bread for breakfast Very high bar prices Staff that could speak no English
Quality of the food was very good. Slow service though, and it does feel like you're eating your meal in the golf club house. The decor and room atmosphere doesn't match the price of the meals.
Best afternoon tea i have had in a very long time. Thank you for making it so perfect as it was a special treat from me to my three friends. Helena Williamson
Amazing experience. We are vegetarians and also can not eat egg. Hotel staff called to ask what we would like to eat and also made special desserts. Very impressed with the service and the level of care from the chef. Small point restaurant was cold however a small electric heater was put out. Thank you
We were very disappointed in the service found some of the staff very rude and not helpful, we were all disgusted in the food from start to finish the food was cold, I would not recommend to friends or family and would not be coming back
Excellent afternoon tea with First Class service.
The lady (Kate) who served us was great could not fault her at all, she explained everything with the afternoon tea we had. Thought it was very crafty though that your told its £16.95 a head and then vat is added on be honest and tell people its £20 a head then there wouldn't be any confusion.
Dinner gave my child food poisoning. I spoke to staff the next morning and was told to email, which I did. I have had no response. The pool area was dirty. Breakfast was not good.
the hot pudding was,t presented very well it looked a mess needed a jug of custerd and a jug of cream dimitri the waiter was very polite and helpful
Chef was really helpful with daughters dietary requirements. Came out and spoke to us even though it was clear how busy he was
Very good service. Good choice of food.
Lovely service from all staff we encountered, the afternoon tea was gorgeous
We booked a table for Sunday lunch to celebrate our ruby wedding with our family. We were badly let down by the standard of the food on offer and the poor service: The soup was lukewarm, which was a poor start to the meal. For some reason the food warmer on the buffet was turned off so when we went to the carvery to get our food it was cold. The staff warmed some of the food up in the microwave! The turkey was fine, but the gammon was under-cooked. Some of the vegetables were under-cooked. A lot of food was wasted as it was inedible, which in itself is a travesty. To make matters worse the hot desert was cold, as the gas had been turned off. The cold desserts were fine. The plates from our starter were not cleared away and neither were the dinner plates. We complained to the person in charge and were given a discount on the overall cost of the meal, however she did not offer an apology. We would have preferred to pay full price and have a lovely meal along with a memorable experience for a special occasion. Would not go here again and would not recommend to others.
Lovely staff and venue, unfortunately, the food was very cold, this may have been due to choosing to revert to table service rather than carvery due to a lack of bookings. My wife and I were married here, disappointing as we love returning.
Had a beautiful lunch on Sunday 21 July. Excellent service and terrific value!
The carvery wasn’t good, beef was a tough as could be. Poor vegetable selection which wasn’t very warm. In fairness starters & desserts were ok. Went for a walk outside, paving slabs wobbly & uneven my daughter nearly tripped. Plates & bottles left outside as of from a wedding the day before?!? Not good & won’t go back, shame!!
Ok first of all the positives... refurbishments and facilities look great, and the staff are lovely so full marks there, but quite a few negatives I'm afraid. First of all, the room was far too hot... the fan generated no cooling effect at all. Had to open windows and the main road was loud so choice of too hot or too loud... not great. Next the food... I was very fortunate my pizza was great, but my wifes burger was bad, and chips cold. Breakfast was also cold and limited in selection. Finally noise... the rooms are not well sound proofed. First night we had a crying baby a few doors down so loud it woke us up early in the morning it sounded like was in the room with us, the second night there was a wedding and I've no idea where they were but the noise was extremely loud. Was also a lot of shouting and screaming in car park both nights which makes me think locals frequent the bars and golf club and for a hotel that advertises it is a spa that is not the least bit relaxing to have the premises used as party central!
Disappointing. Front of house staff were welcoming choice of vegetables limited and unappetising. Sweet course very limited from previous visits. When concerns were raised they were ignored. Not up to the standard received on previous visits.
