Staff were all very friendly and attentive. We had a sparkling afternoon tea, sandwiches were fresh and ample filling. Scones and cakes were delicious.
We dined here as part of a package, but food although presented nicely. Service on first evening was slow, forgot desserts sovwaited over 30 minutes then dessert was cold. Tables not set correctly for dinner so they were always hunting for cutlery and the waiter actually leaned across from a partition to hand me a tonic with no glass!!!! And they appeared busy doing nothing. Second night we thought it’s got to be better but NO!!!! I ordered the salmon and avocado starter no avocado on plate, then cutlery again missing and dessert once again took an absolute age to arrive to then be given the wrong dessert for my husband. Not once were we asked if everything was ok and asked if we wanted any more to drink. Service was a complete let down on both nights no attentiveness from staff and certainly no atmosphere in restaurant. The worse Hilton I have dined in and not what I would expect from a 4* hotel
I felt the whole thing was very poor, the two waiters were cleaning and too busy too bring milk will the tea too start. The food was not great we were the only ones in restaurant and still wasn’t really acknowledged . They didn’t bother coming to ask if everything was ok too busy cleaning.
Really enjoyed an afternoon tea with my mum yesterday. Everything was fresh and tasty, great choice of sandwiches, cakes and scones. We were offered a fresh pot of tea after finishing ours and were looked after very well. Will be back very soon!
food was fine, the experience was very disappointing. No supervisor staff on restaurant duty led to delays and poor service throughout our afternoon tea for two. We waited at an unmanned restaurant desk, kept waiting, never asked who we were.Eventually asked what we wanted by a waiter, who disappeared for a while, shown to a table and given single small pot of COFFEE,not asked if we wanted tea that we were expecting.Eventually had coffee replaced with a single small pot of tea that barely held two cupfuls. The long delay receiving the sandwiches and cakes meant the tea soon got cold.I had to ask for hot water to refill the cold pot.Very small cups on the table, probably coffee cups. The food was fine. We waited for a response from the waiting staff that never came so proceeded to leave to obtain a bill and pay. This was also extremely difficult as the waiter appeared to have no idea of any procedure, i.e should we be given a bill and how could we pay without a manned restaurant reception desk. We wanted to pay with a Groupon gift voucher but this also got a blank reaction. We took to waiting in a lounge seating area while another waiter went in search of a supervisor who finally equally confused appeared from the bar area. A very concerned member of the main reception desk arrived to try to resolve our difficulty. The supervisor left to check on the Groupon voucher while we discussed our situation with the very pleasant member of reception. On his return all agreed all was fine and we could leave albeit totally confused by the lack of any procedure from the word go. We never did get a bill or establish how it should be paid. Dont think we will come again for Afternoon Tea. Thanks,Nigel Moroney
Our visit was a gift from family. We thought the whole experience was very ordinary when it should have been special. No tablecloth, bog standard pottery, not very attentive service, (my wife had to find someone so we could get more tea.) We expected like other premises offering similar teas, it would be an occasion to remember it wasn't.. Food was good, would not recommend the experience to anyone else. Disappointed.
When I arrived I was greeted and sat down and all was fine but when the food came I was told there was no strawberry jam but given blackcurrant Instead then there was too much musturd which hurt my mouth then when I went to have a scone there was no cream I went to look for someone but no one was around it took 10 mins before I saw someone and when I asked for the cream it took another 10 mins before I got some then when I wanted a drink refill no-one was around again and I had to go to the bar and ask for drinks i have been to 4 different afternoon teas and this was the worse for service but the cakes was the best.
Lovely afternoon tea for two. Great service and atmosphere.
Food was nice Service was not good. napkins not provided Looking for person for help cannot find any one on two/ three occasions.
Lovely 😊 staff were nice, polite and quick service.
Nice experience but a little pricey. Service was exceptional
Afternoon tea was really good here. We had a window view which was lovely. It was really quite when we went at 12noon as this was the only time that they had Available they said they were fully booked but all but 2 other tables were full. They also started to hoover the resturant while we were eating whch i thought they could have waited as mum is deaf and we couldnt here ourselves. But would recommed to any one as it was lovely think it could have been alot better with more tables filled.
The people we brought was happy
Good food, but we thought that £4.40 (plus tax) for a cup of coffee was exorbitant and we weren't told the price (it wasn't on the menu).
Really pleasant afternoon tea, it was quite quiet so service was great!
Overall it was a lovely afternoon tea but the room does lack atmosphere. Staff great food was lovely
A lovely afternoon treat for my mother in law's birthday. A lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes. And as it was a birthday treat, the waitress gave her a complimentary "happy birthday" slice of cake! However, my husband is very fussy & didn't like any of the sandwiches that came out (egg, tuna, & ham & tomato) so we asked if he could have a plain cheese sandwich, which they happily obliged. It came out within a couple of mins, but unfortunately it was cheese & pickle! (He scraped some of the pickle off, but didn't eat them all) apart from that, the service is outstanding & the food & surroundings, were amazing. This is my second trip here, but will definitely be returning.
Lovely afternoon tea. Friendly staff
Really enjoyable, calm and relaxing and lovely food. Would definitely come back
Lovely afternoon tea yet again been a few times and each time we have different cakes which is fab unlimited pots of tea, staff attentive.
Good value great service lovely staff
A superb afternoon
What a fantastic experience, staff were extremely welcoming especially Kinga who couldn't do enough for us. Our afternoon tea was delicious very fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend to friends.
We were seated in the bar which was a little uncomfortable due to seating. The table was lower than us, it was more for lounging than dining. Food was good and so was the service. Thank you
Beautiful veranda, ate outside. Afternoon tea was delicious.
