Has a reservation for the 20th April but wasn’t able to attend as my mother was ill. Was offered to re- book or take away as had already arrived. Opted for take away but was very disappointed with the amount of food I received in a paper bag. 6 tiny cut sandwiches and 6 small cakes. Barely enough to feed one person let alone 2. Was also given a Pot of jam and some fresh cream but not sure why as there were no scones provided!!!
we had a very nice meal on Sunday night. However, we asked for an espresso for breakfast but were told it was not possible due to the machine being cleaned. for a Hilton hotel, you would expect an espresso would be available at breakfast time!
Had a lovely afternoon tea! Great food and good service. Will definitely come back
Great food and lovely service
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Could of had jam served in a dish instead of one 20p jar. Coffee was only just warm. Food was lovely.
Hard to find a member of staff within the restaurant, loads of used, empty but not cleared tables with dirty cups/plates and uneaten food left out. No tea/coffee menu, only offered bog standard (tasted instant) coffee/tea. No fruit/earl grey/Assam etc or latte/espresso etc. Sandwiches were ok but portion sizes a little stingy, cakes were clearly brought in/factory made and not great quality. Scones seemed fresh but it was one each and one miniature pot of jam between 3 of us, cream was ok but no butter. Service was quite slow and clumsy. Over all, fairly unimpressed.
We had a very pleasant experience yesterday at Double Tree at the Hilton, Southampton. Nice comfortable restaurant and friendly waiting staff, the afternoon tea was more than sufficient and very tasty and well presented. Would definitely recommend and would like to go again soon.
Lovely fresh sandwiches, cakes and scones.Good selection.Very friendly, polite staff.Would recommend to friends and family.
Turned up for and online booking in the Restaurant thinking that it would be a nice Sunday Lunch only to find that it was bar food only. Family occasion so rather disappointed. Web site not clear. Left to find another place to eat.
Came for tea for 2. Service quick restaraunt clean and calm, food delicious.. would say a little more selection for the price? Staff were friendly.
Food and service very good , have now been 4 times in the last 8 months , highly recommend.
Lovely place we all enjoyed our afternoon tea
Fantastic afternoon tea! Thank you.
would have liked a choice of brown or white bread for sandwiches, and the ham was the thin cheap type with no taste The reason for anonymous as this was a gift from my grandson and i do not wish to upset him. '
We had afternoon tea the staff was fantastic very helpful, however the only thing was the sandwich’s were too warm. Apart from that it was nice.
Was ok but wait ten mins for cake sand which. As was gift for Christmas never again. More for women not for men.
Sat outside as the sun was shining, the area would benifit from a little freshening up and clean. Apart from that the service and food was very good. We had the afternoon tea it was very nice but I think maybe one more sandwich would be good. Not quite enough for the price.
No draft lager or salmon at 7pm
We were very disappointed with the afternoon tea for a number of reasons. My daughter bought this for us as a Christmas present and paid £67.80. Was it worth this amount of money? Absolutely not. Three finger sandwiches each and when we asked for some more sandwiches we were told we would have to pay £6+, that’s terrible! You were told by my daughter that I didn’t eat meat, when my sandwiches were brought out on a plate there was a ham sandwich included amongst the three finger sandwiches, not great customer service. Two tiny pots of jam between four adults, that’s just stingy and unnecessary. The afternoon tea consisted of a few sandwiches, a scone each (which were lovely) some clotted cream and jam and two lots of chocolate desserts, why two? I would have thought there would have been a different selection rather than two chocolate choices. We asked to change one of the chocolate selections and they brought out supposedly lemon cheesecakes, turned out to be passion fruit. The whole thing was dreadful from start to finish and very disappointing, especially for my daughter who had bought the voucher for us. Which brings me to my last point, do you treat the people who are the recipients of vouchers differently to hotel guests? We looked at the selections given to other people, including some who looked like they had coffee and walnut cupcakes, ours was very uninspiring to say the least. My 20 year old daughter works hard as a carer and I feel sorry that she completely wasted her money on your poor offerings. I would like a response to my review by email from the hotel.
We travelled up from Devon for an over night stay eating both breakfast and Mother's Day dinner in the restaurant. Kinga and Iva are both extremely good assets to the Hilton hotel. Nothing was to much trouble, they both went above and beyond to make sure our dining was the best experience it could be. They were both superb and I can't rate them High enough. The food was outstanding!! I will also be personally emailing the hotel with the positive feedback I have. Many thanks Mrs Doidge
I feel like this restaurant was under staffed. All staff were very polite and helpful but we had waited about 20 mins to be seated even though there were loads of tables free and then when we sat down we then waited another 40 mins for them to bring the afternoon tea out. When I managed to get someone's attention they were very apologetic and brought food out straight away. Just feel they could have done with a couple more staff members as it was mothers day.
When we arrived we were all told to sit in lounge area but then no one came to retrieve us so had to approach desk again. There were 2 of us but we were only given 3 sandwiches. Other than that all was nice
Fantastic! Staff very attentive and cakes were lovely.
Food not great , sandwiches few and a bit old . Scones dry, cakes were nice. Chose this place as came a few years ago and remember it being nice. We were not allowed decaf tea because it was ‘done’ (don’t know if they just didn’t want to make any more but this was not clear). Service was ok . Wouldn’t come again but not horrible .
