When I booked this I kept getting warnings that our table was for only 1 hour. We were not served until 2pm (our booking was at 1.30) and we left at 3.45pm due to the poor to none existent service. There were wedding parties everywhere and as a consequence it was very very noisy. Not a very relaxing experience, very overrated and expensive. Tea strainers would have gone down well.
Polite waiting staff but very very slow service, more staff and correct management of waiting staff needed. Order forgotten even when reminded twice and then was not complete. Excellent food.
Everything was more than we expected from the afternoon tea to the breakfast before we left we will definitely be doing it again
Lovely afternoon, celebrating with friends, service was a little slow especially for the bill but afternoon tea selection was delightful.
We really enjoyed our tea - the staff are very friendly, the service is good and the food is excellent
Coming to a place like The Belfry everyone has quite a big expectation. Unfortunately I feel disappointed. I went out with my friends for an afternoon tea, spent 20 mins before we were sat by the table. After another over an hour the food arrived. If such a long wait is a standard, we should have been informed. Drinks were good although when changing teas our cups were never changed.
Just a fantastic placr
We had a fantastic afternoon. Alison was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and she was brilliant with my 10-month old grand daughter. Arranged a jam sandwich for her which she loved. Thank you so much Alison. We will definitely be visiting again.
Great atmosphere, food is good, price is a bit more on the pricier side, but nonetheless we had a great time
Lovely Afternoon Tea. Food was excellent and so much of it we had to take some home. Service was very professional and friendly and we had a truly relaxing afternoon.
Service was a little slow, and did not know what a Carafe was and should have known if silver service waitier.
Had s beautiful, relaxing time here on 23,06.19. Food amazing and plenty of it. Tea and coffee a plenty and hot. Thoroughly recommend going
Beautiful surroundings, food very good and staff more than helpful. Will visit again soon.
Great food at a very reasonable price for its location. Staff friendly and looked after us. 16 semi drunk golfers all came away happily fed. Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Recommended highly
The server Alyson was lovely. She could not have done anymore to improve our experience. She is a credit to the Hotel. The food was lovely and fresh. The scones were the best we have had. A couple of the other cakes were a little too sweet for our taste. It was quite busy in the hotel hence the lower rating on atmosphere as it got quite noisy at times. We would recommend a visit.
I was very disappointed with my visit yesterday. I had planned to take my sister and 2 friends as a thank you for their help and support after a year of breast cancer treatment/chemo. We were all looking forward to it. I've been to afternoon tea before, had visited for spa days and had at one time being a member of the health club so had no reservations about taking friends for afternoon tea. We were placed right beside the bar at the same time that a large wedding party took up space around the bar and lounge area. We actually gave up trying to have a conversation after the noise levels rose to a point where we couldn't hear each other. Our waitress was being trained, which was fine. Another lady was close by to hear her take our order and explain how the afternoon "worked". She was friendly, but after our initial service, we never saw her again. We asked for more tea which arrived but one of my guests had to get up and get some milk from the bar so we could enjoy a second round. With the crowd from the wedding party being so close to where we were seated, we couldn't actually attract the attention of any waitressing staff so by the time we asked for our scones, which we were told to do so they would arrive warm, we'd had enough of not being able to speak to each other and of trying to complete our order, that we asked for them to go. So they weren't warm and were without cream when we took them home. Just before leaving, 2 of my party went to the toilet and found them full of wedding guests, inside and outside in groups and on return, commented that they were dirty. We left shortly thereafter, i stopped at the health club to use a clean loo. I don't think we'll we back again.
Fantastic service and good quality!
,the Muzak was just right when we first sat down I commented to my wife how nice it was, somehow during our stay the volume increased, not too much but a little too loud for my liking
The quality of the food was very high. Everything prepared to an exceptional standard, the cakes particularly were very tasty and varied. Just the right size to enjoy at an afternoon tea. The scones were warm and very delicious, not too big either which made it possible to enjoy two! Really beautifully finished finger sandwiches too, very flavoursome. I don’t usually order tea but was persuaded to try something different from the extensive menu! I tried the pomegranate - it was very rich and flavoursome but not overpowering. Our experience wasn’t rushed and we were seated in a relaxed and informal manner, and looked after fabulously by Alyson. She was attentive and informative made us feel like royalty! We will most certainly return to the beautiful Belfry! Keep up the good work!
We had an amazing afternoon tea. It was a lovely anniversary afternoon for Hubby and I (kid free).
Really enjoyed the tea. The vegan selection was beyond expectation - especially the chocolate cake. Scones were a little overheated, but still enjoyable overall. Would definitely recommend the Belfry.
Excellent afternoon with my friend
Food and service were good however the bill was inconsistent. I ordered 2 glasses of wine, same size & type but they were charged differently. Children supposedly eat free. They offer a 3 course menu for £12.95 but they charged for the starter & pudding at approx £4.00 each so they don’t really eat for free at all. I did question this at the time & was told it was because I didn’t order a pudding so they charged for the child’s. In reflection, I did order a starter & they charged for the child’s one...... inconsistent!!
a most enjoyable afternoon, great food, lovely place. could not fault the staff
Absolutely loved our Afternoon Tea Experience. Great value for money would love to book again. Only thing I would say on this visit is as we got to the end of our time it was difficult to catch someone to settle our bill and get some boxes to take our things home. But it didn't affect our day. Perhaps you were understaffed. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!
