About Boulton House
Boulton House is Carleton Place's newest dining experience! From impeccable service, to exquisite cuisine - we are looking forward to serving you soon!
Incredible short rib yorkie. Servers were attentive and the atmosphere inviting. Will return again and again!
Lovely gesture bringing a surprise dessert for our friend celebrating his birthday.
Worth every penny. Great food great staff
Great service, delicious food
Dined at Boulton house many times. The food, the service, both amazing. Highly recommend!
Great experience, carefully spaced out with very few tables occupied for safety but amazing service and great food. Everyone very happy from our group. Only comment was that the lobster pasta was delicious but needed maybe a squeeze of lemon at the table or something fresh to cut the too much butter. Still decadent and an incredible amount of lobster meat in the dish. So good. Thanks for a wonderful birthday dinner.
This restaurant is our favourite one! The food, drinks and service is always outstanding
Been there many times and always pleased with the service and the great food! My only suggestion would be to ensure full transparency when booking a reservation online to ensure guests know that the reservation is NOT for the patio but did inside. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived to find out that we had to be seated inside. Otherwise, fantastic experience as always.
I am always very impressed with Boulton House - the friendly service and excellent food! I wish for its continued success!
My wife and I had a great lunch on the patio. The 2 Bison burgers were delicious and the weather was amazing for November. We've already told others about it.
Always a great experience. It was our second time going yesterday. We had our Server Kim once again and she is wonderful.
Great lunch experience. Thanks! Angie
Incredibly fun vibe for a Friday night. Loved sitting at the high top table in the bar, watching the cocktails being made, listening to the fun music, as my husband and I enjoyed our night together. Love Boulton House and it is totally worth the short drive from Almonte!
Nicole was, as always, providing excellent service.
We will be back!
Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Maybe a tad more to offer on the dessert menu and coffee was a let down. 4/5
Food was great .. service also great place 👍
Gorgeous evening by the water with delicious food and drinks and great service. Couldn’t ask for more.
Patio is perfect for dining in these challenging times. ...
Another great meal, will come again and again. Lovely atmosphere, perfect for a casual date night but even rises to the occasion when you're celebrating something special.
We had a lovely time. Thank you so much.
Great fall menu. The special and the soup are fantastic
Lovely setting inside and out. Service was very attentive, and our meals were delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be back.
I am sad about having to write a negative review about Boulton House as I have heard such good things - but we were very disappointed with our Sunday evening experience. When we arrived we were a little taken aback by the loud classic rock that was playing in the restaurant. Chez106 may be Boulton House’s usual music choice, but it just seemed weird to the both of us. When we were brought to our table, we sat and ordered our drinks, which were fine. We then ordered our meals, getting a Cesar salad to share, steak frites for my partner, and lobster spaghetti for myself. The Cesar salad was fine. It was quite saturated in dressing, and there was only one thin piece of bacon on the whole thing... but it wasn’t a bad salad. When our main dishes arrived, I was immediately unsure of my meal. It looked like plain spaghetti, sitting in a tiny bit of water-consistency “sauce” (that was kind of a pink colour?) with some lobster mixed in. The description of the dish was “cacio e pepe, crunchy chili, fresh tarragon”. I hope that I don’t sound obnoxious when I say that I have had cacio e pepe more than once, and this was not it. No pepper, no cheese, no crunchy chili (granted, there was some tarragon). If I could post a photo to show, I would. The taste was as if the spaghetti had been boiled, placed in the bowl without any sauce or seasoning, had a few tarragon clippings mixed in, along with some lobster + the water it was boiled in. It was not at all enjoyable. My partner offered to switch meals, but upon tasting my dish he suggested we just share his. His dish was fine. It wasn’t amazing; it wasn’t bad. Still a little disappointing after hearing so many good reviews and having to pay $35 for an “okay” steak. I had been planning on expressing my dislike for the meal and then moving in and getting something else - had the server not taken 20+ minutes to come and check on us. My partner had completely finished his meal and had been sitting for five minutes before the server came back to see how we were. (I should mention we were the only ones in the restaurant.) When she noticed I didn’t eat my meal, she asked what was up. I told her I didn’t like it and that it was very different from other, similarly labeled meals that I’ve had. She asked what I didn’t like about it, so I said something along the lines of, “I don’t want to be a jerk, but I’ve had cacio a pepe before and it’s not this. But besides that, I also just didn't enjoy it, I’m sorry.” Now while I can understand and appreciate that this is an awkward position for a server/anybody to be in, the reaction I got kind of shocked me. I was told that the head chef wasn’t in this evening and that had he been the one who made my meal, she “wasn’t sure what the issue is but it wouldn’t be the chefs fault.” She said that she wasn’t sure where I’ve had cacio e pepe before and why it would be so different. Meaning the “fault” is my own? She repeated it a few times, and then asked if I’d like to order something else. Seeing as my partner had already been done his meal for 10-15 minutes now, we decided no and that we’d just like the bill. We went to the front to pay, and our server then again repeated that she “wasn’t sure what I’ve had before” and that had the head chef been there she wouldn’t think it his mistake and that she “wasn’t sure what the issue was”. I believe she repeated herself 3-5 times about how she “wasn’t sure what the issue was”. It was very awkward, very uncomfortable, and very unnecessary. Just say sorry you didn’t like your meal, we hope you’ll come back and try again. AGAIN, I can appreciate the uncomfortable situation, but I’d also like to think there’s some sort of knowledge on how to handle a situation where a customer does not enjoy their meal. We had both been really looking forward to the meal, and its a shame it was such a let down. We don’t go out for high end meals often, and was supposed to have been a special occasion for us. I’m hoping the reason the evening was spoiled comes down to their not being any kind of supervisor/head chef there versus an actual lack in quality and service.
Our server was very friendly and efficient. The view of the water was delightful.
