About Botswana Butchery Auckland
Botswana Butchery , Auckland’s newest waterfront restaurant, combines premium produce, wine and local ingredients from the Auckland region with the best of what Central Otago can offer. Located in the historic Ferry Building on Quay Street, Botswana Butchery brings a taste of the South to the heart of Auckland city.
The restaurant offers lunch, dinner and bar menus in gorgeous surroundings. The ethos of 'fun dining' is key to Botswana Auckland, which is plush and wonderfully distinctive but also welcoming and fun.
Excellent, will return.
Very classy yet cosy and relaxed. V attentive staff
Outstanding food, highly recommend the lamb shoulder for two 🐑👍 Great service, excellent wine options overall do not miss an opportunity to dine at Botswana Butchery
Great food and service. Thankyou.
It was my wife's 50th birthday so we decided to treat her to some good food and drink. It was the first time that my son and daughter had visited the Botswana Butchery and they thoroughly enjoyed it. My son has not stopped talking about how amazing it was. Thanks for a great evening.
We had an excellent meal paired with a recommended wine. Maximilian was great - very attentive, and his recommendations on sauces and sides were top notch. Thank you! We will definitely be back!
Great evening, wonderful food, excellent service.
Just Fantastic food & service , the steaks were the best i have had at a restaurant in years
The experience this time did not match a previous one.
Definitely planning to come back. Loved the decor and the food. Very comfortable seating, and relaxed atmosphere.
Very accommodating staff!
Our waiter was excellent Food was pretty good, although duck slightly on the dry side and a bit light on sauce. My husbands side dish of carrots consisted of a single half of a small carrot - looked quite ridiculous in the dish on it's own. Given the low price of carrots ...... Our desserts were absolutely divine! We were originally seated in a cafe style table setting with a long cushioned seat along the wall and tables parked side by side. We were about 30cm away from the diners at the table adjoining ours (no one was on the other side at that time). I don't think this is ok for a fine dining restaurant. I asked to be moved and fortunately another table was available. Otherwise, we probably would have gone elsewhere. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and evening and will go back again.
We had a great time! Everything is so good at Botswana Butchery. Fabulous food with huge menu, elegant classy decor, great service, accomodating in respect of dietary requirements, amazing situation. They have it all
Our waiter was awsome Thank you for your service

Great food Great service Great views
Service was mediocre, and restaurant month menu was unimpressive
Attentive 5 star service with down to earth attention
Thank you team BB. You made sure we had a special dinner experience - and we did.Great service - great meal - a great evening.
Hubby & I love Botswana Butchery, we’ve had many dinners there but never breakfast. We enjoyed our morning; had a lovely surprise of a complimentary bottle of champagne, our group was looked after by an attentive waiter who was great. My one criticism is I ordered avocado on toast but when it arrived there was only avocado on half of one piece of toast.. the other had a poached egg (no butter) Overall, my breakfast was nice but not fantastic. I will say our group stayed enjoying the day through till 2pm and not once were we asked to give up our table - our water was constantly topped up and we enjoyed a few drinks.
Just not the same service we’re used to at Botswana and the restaurant was almost empty. Has been a favourite but won’t be back for awhile
