Brunches and lunches made with top quality local produce, washed down with craft beer, cocktails and natural wine, plus the best views in Hastings.
Alongside as-fresh-as-it-comes Hastings fish, landed a stone’s throw away and brought straight to the kitchen, plant-based dishes reign supreme, showing-off the bountiful harvest that Sussex and Kent has to offer. Sea and Shoots.
Decadent brunches are served into the late afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays with everything from Kippers and Kedgeree alongside oysters, constantly-changing specials, fresh juices, Bloody Marys, Espresso Martinis and the option of free-flowing fizz.
Entrance is via Hastings Contemporary gallery, and free for gallery members.
Fantastic in every way,! look forward to returning in the future.
Delicious fresh and inventive sea food, excellent wine. Possibly the best prawns I’ve ever eaten in a gorgeous setting.
It was all lovely!
Really lovely late Sunday lunch with wine and sunshine. Professional, friendly staff and good food x
Excellent, loved every part of the meal (and wine).
The food was pretty average, not enough local fish on the menu and they had run out of mackerel (plenty in the fish huts below the balcony, would take 2 minutes to go and get some ). A bit disappointing as I had heard great things about the food. Maybe better in the evening? A bit odd that you can’t go to the cafe without buying a ticket for the gallery. Adds a bit to the bill.
We had a great lunch with fab wines, the waitress was really helpful in advising on wine choices. Will definitely come back!
Lovely piping hot delicious food.
Amazingly tasty food and amazing wine, especially the orange wine
Super lovely staff and delicious food
Absolutely stunning lunch, fantastic bottle of Puglian orange wine. Amazing service. Faultless in every way. Thank you 🙏
3rd visit and always delicious and enjoyable. Love the location and incredible menu choices. Also, feels super secure in terms of distancing and hygiene etc I recommend to everyone!
I took my son to Boatyard [1st time for him] and both he and I were bowled over with the quality of the food, service and wine. We over-ordered due to all the tempting dishes on the menu! Ben gave us tasters of various wines and we left happy and sated, but decided to pop in to Farmyard for a nightcap on the way home!
Not much atmosphere as so empty even on hot sunny day. Biggest disappointment was your web site stated Sunday Roadt but not on the menu such a pity! Service was by two lovely ladies but very very slow between courses and paying the bill. But overall will visit again!
Very lucky to have bagged a last minute table 3 hours before reservation on a Saturday night! It was our first evening out for dinner as a family since pre-Covid and have to say it was fantastic from start to finish. The service was particularly good, friendly and informed with great recommendations on the wine. Menu offered a variety of tantalising dishes, we opted for bone marrow w/ toast, cockle popcorn with saffron aioli and sizzling garlic crevettes for starters and a spiced Moroccan fish soup (Harira) stuffed with mussels, local fish, crevettes, lentils & chickpeas. 10 /10 we'll be back!
We really enjoyed our meal with you - it was a highlight of our trip to Hastings. Fresh flavours, perfectly executed, and we were especially fond of the mussels! Service was lovely, welcoming and prompt. Many thanks.
This was possibly the best meal we have ever had in Hastings after 10 years of living here. We had several small dishes - though they're not actually that small - all of which were fantastic. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful, the service was perfect. And the atmosphere, the views from the windows are all wonderful. We will take all our visitors here from now on.
Food was wonderful, especially the prawns. The service was lovely if occasionally a bit slow. Only negative were the espressos at the end, which were terrible...small, watery, badly presented. Oh and the restaurant itself is stunning!!
Excellent food and service. Good distance between tables.
The staff were very attentive, we loved the food and will definitely be back!
Lovely Sunday out with the fam, great food and excellent service. We'll be back!
Had a lovely Sunday lunch sitting out on the terrace. Delicious food and generous portions. Very good table service.
I had high expectations as Farmyard is one of my favourite restaurants. Boatyard also provided great tasting food served in a great atmosphere but on this occasion I felt it lacked a bit with the service. We were a party of 6 and we did not see any food for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes after arriving which I would consider a very long time. I will be back to Boatyard and would recommend it to others but they just need to sharpen up with timings or at least communicate better so we can adjust expectations.
The most delicious meal. Great surroundings, lovely wine. Friendly and very knowledgeable service. Loved it.
Food and drink: the chips, baked crab and salt baked celeriac were great, but celeriac at 16 pounds seemed overpriced. The Sourdough with seaweed butter were just tasteless and the bones hardly had any marrow in it. Wines ordered by the glass were just ok. Service is friendly but can be a little annoying with all the "hey guys" / "you guys" etc. We also had to ask for the bill 3x and it took a long time to come, then it had mistakes. Bill was read to us from an ipad and it was hard to hear with the restaurant noise, we would rather see the ticket and read it at our own pace. The menu definitely has some great options but overall there is room for improvement.
