About Boathouse Bar + Grill
Here at the Boathouse, we specialise in fantastic pub classics with a twist, the shropshire gold battered haddock fillet is a hit all year round, the in-house made burgers are a hit with the locals and the charcoal cooked steaks can be smelt from the restaurant.
The kitchen is led by Lee Maddox who's brigade offer a variety of skills to bring to every table, supplying only the best local produce from Shropshire, this with the friendly service and fantastic views of the river severn create a dining experience we are sure you will enjoy all year round.
Fantastic Christmas Menu, the quality of the food was superb, all of our party couldn't find fault with anything from the starter to dessert. Amazing staff, served with friendly warm smiles, even the waitress joined in our Christmas joke telling! Atmosphere was great too!
Party of 7. Informal but efficient service.
Excellent service in a wonderful atmosphere. Great variety of food and very tasty!
Lovely friendly service, great food and thank you so much for the birthday’ing my pudding 🎂x
We had a lovely meal here on Friday evening. Staff were polite and friendly. Service was good. Food delicious. We had the Sausages and pan fried chicken - clean plates all round.
Great meal and lovely veiw over the river. I like the way you can book online, which was very easy compared to some you try to book with. Staff were very pleasant and helpful especially the waitress that served us. Good selection of beers and gins for those who like them. And they have a mixed berry cider by stowford press which my wife loved. Highly recommend a visit.
Best Sunday Roast we’ve had in a while! Everything from the veg, to the meat and gravy was super tasty. Friendly staff and excellent service!! Will definitely be back and have already recommended to family and friends. Thanks, Anna
Really great evening with no issues with our food and drinks plus minimal waiting times. Tasty meals and a great range of beers. We’ll defintely be back.
Great service, asked whilst at the bar if had booked a table, taken straight to it. Food came in good time, amazing food. High quality service, especially for a busy Saturday night.
Attended venue with work colleagues from the moment of arrival perfect lady who waited on out table was professional friendly lovely excellent food service great will be back thank you :)
Great location, friendly staff and decent food. What's not to like?
Ok, we did get complimentary desserts after waiting for an eternity for our mains but dear oh dear - I'd stupidly ordered a deconstructed Shepherds pie but hey, it doesn't suggest that on the Specials menu, which was confusing to say the least (no mention of any Sunday roast, I had to ask the barman) ... and on that showing, the food is majorly overpriced. Seriously, £5 for 3 small lumps of ice cream, with broken up Walkers shortbread fingers ?!!
We had a delicious lunch at the Boathouse - the food and service were both great and I would recommend eating/drinking here.
Excellent staff, atmosphere and food.
Chicken looked disappointing on plate but was tasty. White chocolate mousse was more brownie than mouse. Although delicious the description wasn't accurate.
Excellent food and excellent service. My husband also enjoyed the ales. After eating in the restaurant we took our drinks to the riverside tables. It grew dark and the lights came on and twinkled - absolutely charming!
The Boathouse is a fabulous place to visit for a bite to eat and drink with great views and good customer service. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. I will visit again.
Food is good but not great but all-in-all a lovely evening and a fabulous location
We enjoyed a delicious cheese and meat board, along with a very decent (and well priced) bottle of Sauvignon blanc. Excellent and friendly service.
Lovely food and nice friendly staff. Lovely view over the river. Great way to spend our first anniversary. X
The uneven floor is quaint if a little annoying, and it is hardly the restaurant's fault that there was a large and very noisy table opposite - but the salad was very limited and had what my wife describes as 'gritty bits'. This made it rather expensive for £3.50, part of a meal which was rather expensive for what it was, unfortunately. Service was adequate if not really attentive.
My wife's dish was advertised as having new potatoes. When it came, they had been fried in butter, a lot of which was still in the bottom of the bowl. The staff however very quickly (and without being asked) brought her some boiled new potatoes instead which more than redeemed the situation. The rest of the meal was fine although a little over-priced.
4 of us came for an evening meal after booking a table. On arrival and trying to park, my husband has a blue badge, a car was parked in the disabled space and the manager requested the customer to move his car. This he did so with no argument. There was a technical problem with food ordering so we had a 30 min wait. Because of this the manager offered us free deserts. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We will visit again.
The most over priced underwhelming cheese board I have ever had the misfortune to eat. £9 for four mini slices of cheese of poor quality with six boring crackers and a few grapes and some chutney. Honestly I left after spending £115 and felt short changed because your so called cheese board was such a let down. To balance my review the rest of the meal was excellent.
All food was fantastic service was perfect, only criticism was with the burgers the portions of Chips and Coleslaw were very small. Apart from that perfect also considering we were 15mins late! Thanks
