About Boathouse Bar + Grill
Here at the Boathouse, we specialise in fantastic pub classics with a twist, the shropshire gold battered haddock fillet is a hit all year round, the in-house made burgers are a hit with the locals and the charcoal cooked steaks can be smelt from the restaurant.
The kitchen is led by a brigade that offer a variety of skills to bring to every table, supplying only the best local produce from Shropshire, this with the friendly service and fantastic views of the river severn create a dining experience we are sure you will enjoy all year round.
Great afternoon and wonderful service
Houmous is way overpriced and not that nice. Service was good
We booked a table outside for 8:45pm. We were a bit delayed and arrived at nearly 9pm. We were then told food stops at 9pm. We were surprised at this because it doesn't give much time to get there and order, even if we arrived at 8:45pm. However, the staff were great and allowed us to order, we had really nice food and a lovely evening. I would hesitate to book for this time again if the restaurant closes at 9pm as it just does not give enough time. Food was delicious though and always a lovely place to go on a summer's evening. :)
Limited menu choice, so almost left. A ‘grill’ with virtually no red meat options? Sea bass swimming in oil and needed to be returned (which the wife NEVER does) to be drained. Ham and eggs were nice. Nice setting. Pleasant staff.
Quality al fresco evening with nice food and drink
Fantastic food sat outside on a sunny day. Really clean facilities, good procedures in place for the covid-19 situation and tables nicely spaced.
Great food. Great service and beautiful views.
Extremely slow service having to grab the attention of the waitress rather than being offered food or drink.
Cold pita. Cold mushy peas. Over fried fish. Over priced and would not return even if the food was cheaper as it was so poor. Vat not adjusted from 20% to 5% so you are not only profiteering but exploiting customers. The only good thing was the view and OK service.
Great food and lovely location.
Really great service.
Excellent location and friendly service. A minor point is that we waited several minutes for adult meals to arrive after the children’s meal, I would have preferred them to arrive together. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Enjoyed a wonderful early afternoon meal with my wife overlooking the river and bustling quarry area. The food was very good and the service as always top drawer. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Food was lovely, service was fast and with a smile
Entrance was not clearly identified from the street. We entered by the door nearest Porthill Bridge and were then asked to enter by the side entrance but there was no sign stating this was no longer the normal entrance. We then tried the next door that said Entrance again to be told that was not right either. It's really confusing and we were not the only customers that had this issue. On a separate note there was no pricing on the menu for a bottle of wine which made us think it wasn't an option. We did enjoy the meal and the food was good as always.
My second gin was served with the tonic already in, the glass, the ice had melted and it tasted sweet. Gordon's and slimline tonic. Otherwise full.marks.
We had a lovely time visiting yesterday afternoon and sitting out on the deck after pre-booking a table. It all seemed well-managed, service was quick and staff friendly and helpful. Thank you.
awesome, unique location. kids menu same of adults (also for price - what's the point????). I didn't have fish so cannot comment, but my hamburger was NOT fresh. Prices overall bit high (though honest for beers), I presume this is the price for such a nice location rather than for the food. Lovely staff serving at the table.
Great pub and happy to see it open again
Food was alright but waited over an hour for food as our order was forgotten. Only took one soft drink off our bill to apologise. Felt it was quite expensive for what we got.
Very welcoming. Service was slow but staff very polite. Social distancing was well thought through. Lovely to sit by the river.
Reserved a table in the garden for just drinks. Busy evening but felt well organised and safe in the current climate, would happily return.
Rude bar manager in response to cancellation issues due to their own staffs fault. I booked three tables for 24 people and on arrival they informed me that two had been cancelled, regardless of that I’d spoken to them on multiple occasions. We had to sit 2 households to a table, on arrival also.
