About Bluestone Bar & Kitchen
Our Service model
Bluestone Bar & Kitchen features a relaxed, contemporary design incorporating a variety of zones to suit the needs of our guests including single diners. Our service aims to deliver efficiency and knowledge in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Our food philosophy
We source the freshest, in season, local produce to bring our guests the best that Tasmania has to offer. With a modern Australian menu, featuring a hint of Asian flavours, our Executive Chef Michael Mackaway designs his menus to provide something of interest for every palate.
We are incredibly lucky and proud to be located 40 degrees South of the equator in one of Australia's best regions for growing grapes, barley and hops. This gives us access to amazing cool climate wines, world renowned whisky and cracking craft beer.
We are sorry but this restaurant is not currently accepting online reservations through ResDiary.

The changes to the layout are amazing.. it's got an amazing vibe.. very friendly staff.. food i ordered was beautiful. Def be going back again!!
The food was exceptional and the staff were helpful and friendly, overall a fantastic venue
High price of food justifies a more attentive service. All guests were sat side by side along the front window whilst the rest of the restaurant was empty. Created a cramped and not very private setting for diners sitting so close together. Entrees and one of the desserts were very average. My squid entree only had four small slithers of squid and the rest was broth and bamboo shoots. The $40 sirloin steak came with two bits of broccoli and nothing else except for a bit of onion puree that was not sufficient for the size of the steak. Much too expensive for the experience. New fit out was modern and tasteful and the bar is stocked well. Staff were friendly but for the price of the food, requires more experienced staff. Seems to cater well for well off tourists staying at the hotel who will dine there for convenience but doubt that it will be a popular choice for locals. Less pretentious food and more value for money would go a long way.
Enjoyed our meal and the staff were very pleasant and helpful
Absolutely awesome experience, would have loved to see the wine list though. Food was incredibly good, took a takeaway menu home to show family and friends, and will definately be having lunch there when next shopping in Launceston.
Had a great meal, loved the atmosphere, our waitress was amazing, so friendly. Will be back, the lamb was delicious, 1 tiny criticism was the carrots were a bit too hard! Everything else was perfect.
This was our first experience at Bluestone Bar and kitchen and it won’t be our last. The service was wonderful and our meal was absolutely delicious.
I really enjoyed my fried rice paper roll with vegetables and beetroot sauce, and my tofu main was delicious. My wife enjoyed calamari tom yum entree, and pork fillet main. Nice setting in a quiet end of town, attractive interior and a diverse wine list featuring a great many Tasmanian wines. Friendly, professional and efficient wait staff. Lovely dining experience.
We had a beaut evening and cannot wait to return!! Our favourite restaurant/cafe in Launceston!
I was very impressed with my first experience with Bluestone! not only was the food amazing the lovely young lady who looked after our table was friendly with a great personality, which added even more value to our night. we will be in again soon thanks very much to all the wonderful staff.
