Excellent evening and spa use. Food very good and the staff friendly and helpful.
We both enjoyed our stay, excellent service, fine food, relaxed atmosphere and comfortable room. Thank you for making our anniversary well remembered and an enjoyable experience.
Our afternoon tea was amazing. The food was beautiful to look at and tasted even better. The atmosphere was lovely sitting in front of an open fire looking out over the snow covered grounds.
It was a complimentary tea due to cancellation of my daughters birthday spa treatments but it was nice anyway. We enjoyed and will be back for our treatments soon.
We were so looking forward to our meal at Blair’s, however, I consider over an hour wait between finishing our starter course to receiving our luke warm mains, completely apalling. We actually watched numerous diners, who arrived much later than us, finish their 3 courses and then leave before we had our main course. We had to ask our waiter what the hold up was and were told ‘the restaurant was very busy this evening’, by which time most other diners had left. I am a type 1 diabetic that requires insulin injections before every meal. Having this unacceptable delay between courses is dangerous and completely unacceptable. The meal was an utter disappointment for me. I told the waiter that it was not warm and his reponse was that it had come straight from the kitchen. Needless to say, we didn’t stay for desert and I would definitely NOT recommend Blair’s to anyone.
Lovely overnight stay in a Privelage room with breakfast and complimentary wine. Made use of the pool facilities both days. My highlight of the stay was the delicious 3 course evening meal.
We were very happy with our experience at Blair’s restaurant and would highly recommend the restaurant.
Beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. Service was impeccable, friendly & efficient. Highly recommend the food.
The room initially allocated to the 12 strong party was very cold and as the heaters in it were not working proprely we were tranferred to the restaurant - Well done for sorting that out and ensuring we had a lovely evening
A treat for my daughter's birthday, afternoon tea was superb. Thank you
A very enjoyable evening, lovely friendly atmosphere and most important, excellent food.
stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was lovely but the carpet was quite messy could of done with a Hoover. Huge comfy bed! Had a great sleep. The dinner in Blair’s restaurant was lovely couldn’t fault it. Steak was cooked to perfection! At breakfast there was a large variety of items. I chose cooked breakfast was nice and hot, again couldn’t fault it. We also used the leisure facilities which were great. Thanks for a great stay
Fantastic value for money, great meal and great spa treatments. Couldn’t fault anything
excellent evening meal & breakfast. Made our stay & my husbands 50th birthday very special. Thankyou,
Unfortunately we had a bad experience with our afternoon tea booking. I had reserved a table over the phone as a birthday celebration but we waited for nearly an hour for our drinks and an hour and a half for the food to arrive. The waiter was aware of the booking but this didn't speed up service at all, nor did asking for an update on our food several times. We were very disappointed with the service but appreciated the gesture of a discount on the overall price.
We had an OUTSTANDING stay at Ardoe House Hotel & Spa. The service was exceptional - even with weddings going on the entire time we were there, the staff were brilliant. They were busy but still provided great service, and they were all very friendly as well. Our room was beautiful with quality decor and fittings - and that was a standard room....I imagine the Privilege rooms to be even nicer! We had massages in the spa which were fantastic, our meals were lovely and the cocktails were as well. I can't say enough about how nice of a stay it was, and I cannot wait to go back again.
Very long wait for drinks and food, staff were friendly enough
lovely place for relaxing overnight stay
Personnel reactif et sympathique. Lieu magnifique
Had dinner with an adult family group. All staff were well trained and friendly The service was excellent and the food of matching standard and reasonably priced. I would certainly go again if in the area.
Staff in the spa area were very friendly and the girls doing the treatments were fantastic. In the main hotel it was a lovely surprise to hear we had the private room for the afternoon tea but then we asked four different people if we could have a re fill of tea and coffee and it easily took 30 mins to get any. The pool area is well outdated which I think is bad considering it’s not the cheapest spa in the world, and a real shame when there’s sucu nice treatments. I wouldn’t rush back for that reason. The jacuzzi is also far too hot!!!
The afternoon tea was nice however service was severely lacking. After finishing our afternoon tea we sat for 40 minutes trying to get someone’s attention for our bill. There were only 2 other tables occupied and we were the furthest away. The waiters would come in, go to one of those tables and go straight back out without looking in our direction. I ended up going to reception to ask for service. I’m glad my wedding is now elsewhere as after that service I would have been left thinking I had made a mistake in my choice of venue.
We won this carvery lunch and had we had to pay full price would have been disappointed. The range of starters was predominantly pate or terrine based so for children the only real option was soup which they said did not taste nice. The prawn cocktail myself and my mother in law had was tasty. Re the carvery the meats were nice but we had practically finished eating these (or those who waited it had gone cold) by the time the vegetables and yorkshire pudding arrived - and then the vegetables were taken away so we could not help ourselves to more! The desserts were nice and boys enjoyed the ice cream station. The atmosphere with the harpist was nice for adults but the environment and overall ambience was for an older clientele and not particularly welcoming for families. The main host was pleasant and polite, the other staff less so and had to wait 15 mins in reception before being shown to our table. I would not go back unfortunately.
As usual, everything about our visit to Ardoe was great. The venue looked beautiful, the staff were as lovely as always, and the Sunday carvery was delicious, with so many awesome options. We will definitely be back!
We were well looked after, not rushed at all, were checked upon but not harassed, one of the best afternoon tea I've had. Thank you 😊
