Love this place, go here regularly. Staff all very efficient and helpful, varied and interesting menu which I think is mostly gluten free and excellent chef!
The three-course lunch menu with wine was great value for money. Very tasty - the beef was served pink which is how we like it. The white chocolate bread and butter pudding was a great end to the meal.
Delicious food and good service.
A classy and sophisticated establishment. Staff are extremely professional and deliver an excellent quality of service with faultless attention to detail. We had the chateaubriand and the chef catered for us by providing a combination of rare and medium rare to meet our individual taste. I was tempted by the chocolate orange Yule pudding for dessert. So glad I did. Beautiful presentation with more of that attention to detail that the establishment oozes. The taste?? ... just try it. Divine!! Definitely a case of getting what you pay for...and more. Thank you also to our professional and extremely approachable host Jarvis who performs his role with a clear passion and pride for the establishment he represents. I so like to see that but sadly it’s a near extinct quality in some other restaurants I’ve visited. I would definitely recommend this place. Better still, make a night of it by checking out the bar’s wide choice of cocktails and great live music.
This is not the first time we have visited this restaurant. Each time we go the service is excellent and the food amazing. We are a work fine dining club and have visited many restaurants within Nottingham and Derby and this one is definitely one of the top ones of our list. Booking is easy, we are not rushed when dining and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We all had the early bird menu which had a large selection to choose from and the staff were informative about the menu choices and what they had run out of in advance. A three course for £17.95 is not too be snubbed when the food is of such a high standard and quality although we do all agree that there should be set prices for the steaks etc and not that they are all supplemented.
Good food - hot and fresh. Good service - friendly not pushy. Nice wine (my wife tells me) Decent pint. Good ambience. Reasonable price. What more can you ask?
Superb food, wide range of drinks, friendly and thoughtful professional service !
There was a large brown water stain on the ceiling and considering the cost to dine I did not expect to see this. Our beef fillet arrived with 1 small price of carrot 1 chalot and 1 parsnip no Diane sauce and no tomatoes as listed in the menu. We complained about this and a gravy was given to us mid way through our meal. I asked the waitress what beer was on draught and she told me she couldn’t remember as they are downstairs. I had to go and look myself. Poor service and a real shame as the steaks were excellent but everything else disappointing. Spoiled the night as we had so been looking forward to dining at the restaurant
As always great food and atmosphere staff always very friendly
Delicious home cooked food.
Great food attentive waitress great atmosphere definitely go again
Most enjoyable evening. Excellent food and service.
Loved the accompaniment to my chicken it was the barley & chorizo dish, my Mum who was on her first visit really enjoyed the food & my children tried the chsteaubriand for the first time & enjoyed it, but didn’t like the spices in the onion rings! Great cocktails downstairs always great service
Good food but service was nowhere near good enough. There was a large table / party that were half an hour late which our server told us was causing the service to be slower than usual, but there were 4 people working who could have at least asked if we were ok when walking past the table. Our drinks order took so long to be taken that we ordered the whole meal at the same time, and after asking for the bill, I eventually had to walk up to the bar to ask for it again as nobody took it over. Matt, our server did organise some free drinks in the lounge to apologise which we appreciated, however the slow service really put us off coming back, and the large table being late really isn’t an excuse.
The carrot and coriander fritters were a taste sensation!
It was a lovely evening and rare night out as parents so thank you
Never disappoints. Excellent service excellent food
Had a most enjoyable evening, we will be coming back as soon as we can,.It was great to see Steff after such a long time, and the service was 1st class
Another excellent meal. Lovely staff, approachable, friendly and efficient. Good portion size, everything tasted fresh with good flavour combinations. Loved the mackerel pate and my main of chicken/ chorizo. Excellent coffee too.
As usual top quality food and service
My husband and myself chose the steak for our main meal-which was lovely. But all as we had with it was a bowl of chips!! So for the price it should of had some veg or onion rings along side it.
Felt very welcome. Great variety of drinks, food was flawless. Thanks for a great evening.
Had a lovely evening celebrating my friends 50th birthday. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back again.
Pork was burnt on top, charcoal in plate when you cut it Asked waitress what sea bass came with to be told after she checked with chef, nothing so extra veg and chips ordered (the chips were taken off at end after we mentioned it) Very hot in restaurant Staff kept banging into back of one of our parties chair as walking past she was suffering from a bad back anyway but this made it worse and she left early. Awful burnt rubber/plastic smell in restaurant later in meal. No one checked on us during meal until end.
