About Knights Restaurant at Lumley Castle Hotel
The elegant setting and superb food on offer in our award winning Black Knight Restaurant make it a popular choice for diners from far and wide. Subtle lighting, lavish furnishings, unobtrusive yet attentive service makes the Black Knight Restaurant truly memorable. Our menu offers classical dishes with an original twist. Diners can choose from our A la Carte menu and enjoy an extensive selection of fine wines to complement your meal.
This is the second time we've stayed here now and the staff are very friendly and welcoming it's such a lovely place to stay
So good, I have booked to return next month!
Once again a great night on a steak and stay package. We invited friends from Nottingham and they thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the Knights Restaurant. Thank you.
Staff were lovely. Down to earth and friendly. Food was tasty and flavour some but portion size could be larger. We were well looked after and enjoyed our time there.
Service was great, but the sandwiches in the afternoon tea were disappointing. The quantity supplied for 3 people would be more suited to a single serving. We had to order and pay for additional sandwiches.
Atmosphere of restaurant was very good, excellent service and the food was delicious. It is worth to come back and enjoy the accommodation in the future!
We had a really lovely meal and the service was exemplary. We are vegetarians and there was a good choice for us. Will be good if this was either expanded or changed frequently so that we can come back. What we had was to a very good standard.
My favourite place to bring guests for dinner and impress them with the wonderful setting, delicious food and faultless service
Excellent food and fantastic staff. Went out of their way. Felt very at home
We had visitors from Australia who wanted to experience High Tea (Afternoon Tea) in England and where better than in a castle. Er requested a table in the lounge next to the fire on booking. Staff were extremely helpful in ensuring this happened and couldn’t have be more helpful on the day thank you they took away great memories
The guitar player did not need a mic unable to talk sat next to him. Could have more Chilean wines.
Staff lovely and friendly. Service fantastic. Food very nice but slightly overpriced.
Restaurant food is very bland by today’s standards and reflects badly on the hotel
A wonderful Sunday lunch with my visiting Kiwi family who were on honeymoon and love Castles. Excellent day as usual but let down by the lamb being very pink. The waitress had forewarned about the beef being pink but not the lamb, as I would have opted for the pork had I known.
Extremely disappointed, restaurant was dark and cold to the point of being uncomfortable. Starters were average followed by 4 main meals of Beef all of which were cold including the vegetables. These were sent back and new meals arrived that were slightly better but not much better than slightly warm but at least this time the plates were warmed up. To compound the issue the beef was chewy and fatty and far from the standard expected. Desert was nice but the coffee that we ordered was weak and watery. All in all an extremely disappointing experience.
Table was booked for 8pm. We arrived at 7.50pm and were directed into the library bar where our order would be taken while we had a drink. After an hour sat waiting for a menu and watching people arrive after us and have their orders taken before us, I had to ask for a menu. So we didn’t actually get anything to eat til after 9.30.
Very dissapointed at the Afternoon Tea portions were very small and pastry soft Had a scone with cream and jam tasted nice but scone fell into bits when trying to cut Cost £57 for 2 afternoon teas, vodka and coke & Hendricks and tonic So deff not value for money
Fantastic food Excellent service Definitely will be a regular from now on
It was a treat for my mum and it was a very nice afternoon. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful 🤗
A perfect afternoon
Could have been a little cheaper, but overall very good
We had a lovely day out for my sister's birthday. Good service but scones were a bit dry.
Fantastic castle.. food, service , atmosphere all first class ...will be back soon
Lovely Sunday lunch, good service although we were over charged but were refunded with no problems. great atmosphere and we will come back.
