Fantastic evening with lovely service and amazing food for such good value on the express menu! My dad had a wonderful birthday surprise. I will definitely be returning and have already recommended to several friends. Thank you!
Sunday lunch was excellent and the service was great. The quality of the food was fantastic and all of our meals were good and hot! The only criticism would be that the starters were on the dear side st £7!
The food was delicious and I couldn't fault it. The food is well priced for the standard of it, however the drinks are very expensive. We had a nightmare trying to book the table, I had to call and call and was promised to be called back by the restaurant manager however I never was. After the sixth or seventh attempt I sent an email raising my concerns which then prompted the restaurant to call me. Overall the food was lovely but the whole booking process could do with some tweeks.
Pretty expensive for what you get , lovely place and good service, wouldn't be going back just not worth the money
Service and atmosphere below average. Food ok but certainly nowhere near the standard I was expecting.
Superb customer care from reception to bar staff to food service exceptional food
Wrong food brought out that I ordered and over charged £ 64 pound on drinks we never had special occasion husband birthday and our wedding anniversary so first time vist was not so special left there feeling upset that I wanted it to be a special eveining
Amazing food & drink - truly recommend!!
Service was excellent very friendly, helpful staff. Food was outstanding! we will definitely be back & I would highly recommend!
Great service by ruby(I think that was her name) food portions great too. Highly satisfied.
The table service was excellent but lack of people working on the bar meant that we often had to wait for or chase up our drinks. This also slowed the managers in terms of brining menus etc asthey had to help on the bar.
The food and cocktails were beautiful but I had to send my steak back as it was not cooked right in the first place but the waitresses sorted it without a fuss. Also my son’s food came out much later than everyone else’s. A 6 year old had to wait for his food on his birthday so that made me sad as the kitchen had clearly forgotten about it but again it was chased up by the waitress quickly once we brought it to their attention.
We came here to celebrate my husband' 50th recently and enjoyed superbly cooked & presented food, in a beautifully decorated dining room. The restaurant was packed even early doors on a Tuesday evening which really added to the atmosphere. The wines, whilst a little pricey, were top quality and worth the extra money. The service was friendly and attentive but the waitress got one of our cocktails orders wrong and there was too much leaning over us when passing food and drink for our liking. . All in all though an excellent experience, we have raved about our meal to friends and family all week. We will be back soon.
Winstanley house is my favourite place at the minute I really do love it here! Constructive criticism coffee cups are too small! Your coffee is so lovely but definitely needs to be in a tall glass.
We visited on Saturday 11th August as a party of 8 to celebrate 3 birthday's and a wedding anniversary. .the food was great however the service was not so good...... the girl servicing was lovely and did her best to please us despite there not being sufficient staffing on due to a function in the main hall...myself and my partner have been a few times and had recommended the restaurant to my family who were very excited to be visiting only to be disappointed due to poor service. One starter came which was a terrine with one small piece of wholly toast we immediately asked for more toast however we had all finished our starter's and had to ask again for more toast so the starter could actually be eaten therefore the rest of the party had finished long before which was very unfortunate. The rest of the meal was lovely and the waitress was great. It was just a shame we could not all eat our starters together .we was also in the back room nor the main restaurant which a little disappointing as there was not much atmosphere. .I prefer the main restaurant
Relaxing afternoon lunch
Nice welcome sat outside for a drink which was lovely then were taken to our table . Waited over 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to order .the food was very nice but very small portions. Would definitely come back for a drink but not sure we would return for food .
My second visit... really enjoyed it but was devastated you had taken the white chocolate bomb off the menu, it was the best dessert I have ever had and had told people to go just for that ,!!
Very very very slow service. Main course meat was served without sides. We waited so long we started eating our meat.
Everything was lovely, so much better than expexted
Our 2nd visit and it certainly didn’t disappoint we were looked after wonderfully. Already planning to return.
Lovely setting, extremely slow service. I don’t mind paying for quality but was disappointed with a dry pork tenderloin. We were then asked to leave as there was another booking after us. This place has the potential but it’s a long way away yet. I’d give them some time before visiting again for food.
Great family meal in beautiful surroundings. The team were put through their paces today with a wedding, lunch and afternoon tea customers and came up trumps. The menu was known by the staff serving and they made perfect recommendations. We had a very enjoyable visit, my 6th time and the first for the rest of the party.
Brilliant and (slightly) hidden treasure in Leicester. Food was exceptional and service as well as decor and furnishings were 5 star. Thank you
There was a large Asian wedding party which made it a bit awkward getting to the toilets from the restaurant. It was our first visit and we will definitely visit again
