About Black Cow
Black Cow is the first restaurant in Singapore to introduce Kanto-style Sukiyaki – still the most traditional way to enjoy beef in Japan. As wagyu cognoscenti, we procure only prime cuts of genuine Japanese Black Wagyu. Diners can sample the highly sought after Matsusaka Wagyu, which is produced under the most stringent standards.
Known for its exquisite marbling and unique tenderness, thinly sliced Matsusaka Wagyu is truly an indulgence when savoured with our Sukiyaki or signature Shabu Shabu.
Black Cow’s signature sukiyaki sauce is made fresh in house. We glaze the sauce with premium cuts of Wagyu beef fat in order to enhance its natural and unique umami flavour.
Sake lovers would be pleased to know that Black Cow carries a variety of sakes that are currently unavailable elsewhere in Singapore. We curate a selection of sake that includes the cult brand Juyondai as well as the highly prized Tatenokawa’s Komyo. We also carry the Dassai 39 and Dassai 23 labels, as well as the Dassai Centrifuge labels, which are made using a centrifuge instead of the traditional hydraulic press.
Aside from sake, we also offer a selection of biodynamic and organic wines for customers who prefer pairing Japanese food with wine.
Wait staff were patient and accommodating. Thank you for the complementary birthday dessert too. Awesome service. Will be back again.
Good food & impeccable service as always
Knowledge and friendly staff provided good recommendations and type in enjoying the food to the fullest. Really enjoyed the great quality and flavors of the dishes we ate!

Good quality food, but lack the experience in terms of service quality and atmosphere for the value of money. Attention to details are lacking. Charges fine dining, but lacks 90% of the fine dining experience
Food are very nice. But definitely steep. Will definitely visit again though.
Waitress was not very friendly and kept asking if we wanted drinks after we have declined a few times. After the waiter asked if we were done with our food, 5 min later the waitress came to ask the same question.. Hence the service have much room for improvement as it affected the dining experience as a whole.

Was peaceful initially until 2 male customers came in and started talking as though they were home.
Food was amazing and staff were quite attentive. Only complaint was that when I was ordering my food, I felt like the waitress kept trying to upsell me to make Me purchase the most expensive itemS in each category and I found it to be extremely annoying and not genuine.
The service by the staff was very polite and courteous. They were also attentive and ready to serve you with a smile. The food is exceptionally good and above par. The A5 Wagyu meat just melts in your mouth after soaking in the hot Sukiyaki sauce! The taste of the beef so exquisite than it makes you wanna come back for more. The amount served is just nice for the value.
Lousy, expensive and people are bitter
Food was spectacular. Always look forward to the truffle somen and the wagyu A5 slices with sukiyaki. Staff was also attentive and well informed about specials and menu.
The staff were rude. We understood that there’s another round of seating and we have to return the table by 1:15. They came to us around 1 and requested us to move to the bar table to finish our dessert. The fact was that we were waiting for them to serve us the dessert and we would return the table in time. We got the bill at 1:15 as requested and there were 2 empty tables already... really couldn’t understand what’s the rush to kick us out!
We are kind of being pushed by one of the server (a guy) when we are still deciding the orders. Would appreciate if the approach was smoother.
Food is better than fat cow
I am a returning customer. Today I decided to have the kurobuta pork cheek. The meat has a strong gamey taste. As the restaurant was not very crowded, we were blessed to have the full attention of the 3 waitresses and restaurant manager. While it is important to be attentive to customers' needs, it is insensitive to be standing in one line and staring at the customers when they eat.
