The food and service was excellent
We had a very pleasant evening at Bistro Dalby. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Food was very good and plenty on the plate.
Decked out beautifully for Valentine's Day. Attentive staff and food excellent for the most part. The duck and pork were really outstanding but we found the barramundi a little too salty (perhaps too heavy with the soy); though perfectly cooked. Desserts great as well. Excellent chips.
The staff were very accommodating. The potential areas for improvement were: it difficult to get anyone to answer the phone when booking the dinner; and it was difficult to get a carpark close to the venue on a Wednesday night.
Entree seemed kind of thrown together. Main was nice but steak very small. Pannacota was delicious, too much oats on crumble made it very difficult to eat all. Service was overall good, except we had quite a long wait for the dessert menu to be offered to us. The atmosphere wasn't very date like, more of a casual feel. Really need to consider upgrading to higher backed chairs, as it was hard to hear our conversation when leaning so far back on the chair. Still enjoyed our night but would most likely not return again.
As in-house guests, my wide and I decided to eat at Bistro Dalby on the first evening of a two night stay. Service from staff was great and they even accomodated a request to sit at a different table to what had been offered through our reservation...which was not set up for dinner. (We opted for a quieter out of the way spot). Staff attended to that request quickly and without fuss. Meals were well presented, cooked and flavoured. Wine selection was adequate and reasonably priced. Despite plenty of other nearby dining options, we chose to eat at the Bistro Dalby again the following night which should attest to the quality of the overall experience.
The meal was lovely. Thank you
Excellent service and great food
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bistro Dalby. Excellent food and excellent service.
Enjoyed the food, very nice and staff friendly and professional. Thoroughly recommend.
Disappointing!! The bistro is just off reception and the fresh flowers on tables were pleasant, however there is no atmosphere, it overlooks a courtyard/ square. The food was mediocre. The staff confirmed that Caesar salad came with anchovies and the menu said it was served with a poached egg. It arrived with hard boiled egg pieces and no anchovies!! Whilst this was rectified fairly quickly as there were only 3 people in for lunch, no excuse due to busy trade. Menu options very limited.
Dined here for the first time with friends using a First Table booking. Service was exceptional, and food was exquisite! We had breads, entrees, mains, and desserts and could not fault any dish. All were cooked perfectly - my scotch fillet was melt-in-your-mouth, and the side dishes were just scrumptious! We all had a fabulous night, and would definitely return!
Was extremely cold inside the restaurant. Food was nice but overpriced.
We were looking forward to a surprise package after reading the reviews on First Table. Unfortunately it fell short of the mark. Just the little things that make each dish hold their own were missing. The wait staff were lovely and accommodating. It was really just a dinner in a hotel lobby at the end of the day.
Not all the menu and things were available. My hubby loves lamb shank but when about to order they said we don’t have it but the menu says that there is lamb shanks.
A hidden gem! We had a lovely evening, great food and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit
Our meals we beautiful , well cooked and tasty , would recommend Bistro Dalby to anyone looking for a great meal in Newcastle
Great evening to celebrate my birthday with our family and Coby’s service typically made the evening worthy of the occasion and confidence in Bistro Dalby.
The food was lovely apart from my entrée (whiting). The batter was crunchy but it was extremely oily which killed the flavour. The seats we were sitting on tilted forward which was annoying and the prices were restaurant prices not bistro. The waitresses made us feel comfortable and very welcome and the wine was lovely. It was value for money for us only because we got a half price dinner as I am an Accor plus member.
Very high standard of food, great quality meat. However, the size of the main meal is quite small for the price.
Wasn’t very impressed. I’ve bern to a few high teas and I left feeling ‘unhappy’ the bread on the sandwiches felt stail. The scones were very odd and just wasn’t impressed.
Nice staff but the mains were sadly overcooked - my wife's salmon on spaghetti and even my 'rare' steak. It was barely even pink inside. My wife loved the burnt orange brulee though. Delicious!
Staff were polite, friendly & accommodating ox
Wasn't impressed with the dirty tea cup I received first up (lipstick on it) Table service was a bit hit and miss at the start it was only when it got a bit busier did we get offered more drinks and our table cleared. Over charged even thought I filled out your form to indicate age of people coming.
