About Big Blue Hotel
The Blues Bar & Brasserie
Dining at the stylish Blues Bar and Brasserie is an enjoyable experience. Whether it's a lazy cappuccino or a delicious meal, it offers a tasteful backdrop to relax and dine in comfort. Sink into a soft, leather armchair and enjoy a long, cool drink or sip a hand-crafted cocktail at the bar.
Children can create their own fresh pizzas while parents can choose from an extensive menu designed with a European feel using only fresh, local produce.
For dinner the Brasserie offers an à la carte menu, a chef’s menu and a children’s menu.
Stayed overnight for the Hot Ice Show so good location.
Waiter " Marco" ?? Was exceptionally good with our 3 year old daughter who was about to have a wee temper tantrum just as we sat down at the table. He was brilliant with her and took her to choose a colouring picture , hat and crayons and she was really happy. Thank you. Actually to be perfectly honest all your staff in the restraunt are great with the children and that really makes a difference. The food is lovely. The place is spotless and we have been dining and staying at Big Blue for 3 years now . Would highly recommend. Thank you .
Pleasant brasserie, food is good, service friendly, can be a little noisy with all the children.
We where served by Kane who gave us great service throughout our time in the restaurant and also remembered us the following morning while getting a table organised for breakfast as it was very busy.
first night was great, we had a suite for our honeymoon, second night we booked a double room and it was a shambles, no rooms available with just a shower, the toilet broke so we were moved to another room where the tv didn't work correctly. just seemed like after we were out of the suite we didn't matter
The food and drink was good but I feel as a big table we were slightly overlooked, the kids never got the aprons and hats to make the pizzas and we never got any water for the table.
Food is lovely and beautifully presented with ample portion sizes. The service, however leaves a little to be desired. After the waitress spilt a large glass of wine over me this was not reflected in the final bill. I would not have expected to ask for some sort of recompense for soaking my trousers and shirt. We were also asked no less than 10 times throughout our meal by 4 different waiters and waitresses how the food was. This is over the top and only requires one waiter to ask once during the starter and once for the main course. The waiting staff could learn a thing or two about how customer service should be from Stephen in the Icon shop on park!
We had a fabulous meal, lovely food, great choice, great atmosphere, lovely staff - will definitely be back
Waiter wS very friendly and great with my kids. Food excellent
Excellent food, matched by the service. All staff from waiting on to reception very friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again. One slight area to improve on is the WiFi which is poor.
The staff on reception were very welcoming. The dining room staff were extremely efficient and seemed genuinely pleased that we were enjoying our experience. Well done to them! All in all a great stay - the fifth year I have brought my grandsons and we will return again
The food was amazing and so was the service. I do find it slightly annoying that the menu is all al a carte after 5:30pm which I think makes it harder for people to dine if they have children and are on a tighter budget. It would be great to see the afternoon menu available later on as well as the al la carte so people have more of a choice
Staff are friendly professional and funny/charming
Excellent,the wife and I here for two days,will definitely be back staying,love it,thanks guys,all the best.xx
The new £5 hidden charge for parking was an unwelcome welcome as we checked in for this visit . I also feel that the set menu had less choice than on previous visits . The room was nice as always , clean and comfortable and all the staff were friendly.
Such a lovely hotel all staff was very friendly would stay again
We were very pleased with the standard of service, especially having our 1 year old son with us. All staff we dealt with during our 2 night stay at the hotel (dinner and breakfast twice) were extremely attentive to our needs and interacted with our son who loved all the attention. 10/10 for food and service.
Lovely meal. Dined with my husband, baby and young son. Sat us at a suitable table with plenty of room for the pram. Staff were very accommodating, nothing was to much trouble. Fast service, food was excellent.
quality food great service
Lovely meal with delicious food and courteous service. Restaurant was very busy though so once we had been served had trouble getting the bill and paying! Welcome oasis from the Easter holiday mayhem in the town.
Waiters very attentive. Food high quality. Menu restricted for hotel guests staying more than a couple of nights, so could do with more regular changes. Lots of choice but for special palate's. Draft lager options not to our liking and flat. Could you try Fosters or Peroni please? Desert menu not to our liking so safe ice-cream option chosen most times. Do you analyse how popular all dishes are? Suggest least poplar are replaced. Nice to have back-ground music for atmosphere but honestly sounds like broken record or birthing tunes. How about some popular classics?
We loved our stay. The hotel is lovely and the staff are fantastic. Can't recommend enough.
Staff friendly and effecient.
All the staff were excellent, friendly and professional.
