About Biddy's Tea Room Norwich
Biddy's is a traditional Tea Room in the heart of Norwich's bustling Lanes serving traditional cakes and loose leaf tea in a eclectic Victorian setting. We specialise in a 'create your own' afternoon tea made using the days freshly baked scones and homemade cakes from our Aylsham bakery.
We pride ourselves for our large selection of loose leaf tea, offering over 50 possible blends and even an option to mix your own!
Our Tearoom is split into a cakery and lounge downstairs for more relaxed seating to enjoy lighter options, served at the counter to either eat in or takeaway. Our upstairs floor is dedicated to our Tea Room, opened in 2011 serving our hearty lunches and speciality afternoon teas, served by a waitress.
We aren't the world's largest space, and as such cannot offer a grand afternoon affair. However if good service, homemade food, proper tea in a cozy and quirky setting are what you are after, then you have come to the right place. Welcome to Biddy's
It was great!
The food, service and value for money was exceptional. Preferred the setting downstairs rather than upstairs but apart from that, everything was spot on! Perfect birthday treat.
Had the most amazing experience here! I'm vegan, so it's hard to get a good afternoon tea at all, but this one was incredible! If I was local, it would be hard not to visit every week. I'd highly recommend and thanks to the staff for a great visit :)
We waited an hour before we were served our food, which we felt was not an appropriate wait time given we’d only ordered some sandwiches and cakes
Staff attentive food spot on and atmosphere great. Would recommend to all. Thank you Kim
Wonderful place. The service was exemplary and nothing was too much trouble - moving tables; extra bottle of water; more boiling water; extra jam/lemon curd. Girls were smiling, polite and helpful. Food gorgeous. Our only 'complaint' was that we couldn't eat it all at once! Thank you for a great experience.
We had a lovely time at Biddys. Food is great, always full afterwards and brilliant value for money.
Lovely quaint tea shop, pleasant staff, made us feel very welcome and we were given a complementary jug of juice for my daughters birthday Would recommend and will be going back
Amazing ‘halfternoon’ tea!! The food was perfect, as always. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous afternoon tea experience.
We love biddys but I feel the toilet could do with a face lift, toilet seat is loose and it’s a bit dirty. Food and staff are great 😊
We were bought an Afternoon Tea voucher for a wedding anniversary gift . We had a very memorable time . Lovely atmosphere . Polite and friendly service Lovely food. Couldnt eat all of my food so took my son home the cake which he loved !
So accommodating. I'd managed to book the wrong time and they were so helpful in helping me change times. Amazing food and fantastic service. Thank you
I always enjoy Biiddys. I'm coeliac so I love that they cater for gluten free. The Stilton, apple, cider chutney and walnut sandwiches on brown gf bread are my favourite. All of the gf cakes are lovely and the service and atmosphere is great too.
Lovely place to relax. Good, calm, informative service. After a pot of tea, sandwiches and a scone I couldn't manage the cake so they gave me a box to take it home. Many thanks.
The food was amazing as always but the service was shocking. The waitresses were too busy talking in the kitchen and when they did come into the cafe area, neither scanned the room to see if people wanted their attention. It was if we weren't there. We ended up having to wait 30 minutes just to get two slices of cake packaged to take home as we couldn't finish them there. Such a shame because as I said, the food was amazing.
This is my second afternoon tea i have had at Biddy's and the food is still exceptional and very good value for money. You are not made to feel that you have to rush but you do get a time limit. The staff are friendly polite and very helpful. I could take home food that wasn't eaten and even buy cake to take home. I would recommend Biddy's to all my friends.
The afternoon tea and half afternoon tea were lovely, we enjoyed the tea rooms. We particularly liked that you could choose the items that you would like, the portion sizes on the cakes were huge! It was also great that we could swap the tea for a milkshake and another soft drink given the day was warmer.
Lots and lots of lovely food! Excellent communication and service before the private event and during. Thank-you!
This was my first time at Biddy’s tea room, I have a gluten intolerance and there was plenty of choice for me to have at the afternoon tea I had booked, would highly recommend to have afternoon tea here.
I've had afternoon tea a few times in my life but this one was a special experience, in a good way! The homemade food is outstanding, the atmosphere is great (tiny area with only 8 tables) and the decor/setting was lovely. I've recommended it to many friends already. It's worth every penny!
Always love coming here for a birthday or special occasion! The food and drinks are yummy, and very generous portions for the price. The staff are lovely, and have always been accommodating even at last minute. Couldn’t fault this place even if I tried x
Wonderful afternoon tea, beautiful tearoom
We enjoyed the period decor and background music. Staff were pleasant but not excellent, just went through the motions IMO. Loved the tea especially as it was served in tea pots and cups in keeping with the period. Restricted to one choice of finger sandwich although plenty of choice i would have liked to sample a variety. The spiced fruit scone was excellent. A large selection of cakes to choose from, both the peanut butter tea loaf and lemon drizzle and poppy seed tea loaf we had were a bit on the dry side. In summary, pleasant but nothing special.
Had a brilliant afternoon tea here on 23/7/18 - lots of different options to choose from, including vegan options, great atmosphere and polite staff - great value for money. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely tea room with really nice scones and cakes! Great selection of tea! Will definitely be back!
