About Biddy's Tea Room Norwich
Biddy's is a traditional Tea Room in the heart of Norwich's bustling Lanes serving traditional cakes and loose leaf tea in a eclectic Victorian setting. We specialise in a 'create your own' afternoon tea made using the days freshly baked scones and homemade cakes from our Aylsham bakery.
We pride ourselves for our large selection of loose leaf tea, offering over 50 possible blends and even an option to mix your own!
Our Tearoom is split into a cakery and lounge downstairs for more relaxed seating to enjoy lighter options, served at the counter to either eat in or takeaway. Our upstairs floor is dedicated to our Tea Room, opened in 2011 serving our hearty lunches and speciality afternoon teas, served by a waitress.
We aren't the world's largest space, and as such cannot offer a grand afternoon affair. However if good service, homemade food, proper tea in a cozy and quirky setting are what you are after, then you have come to the right place. Welcome to Biddy's
Afternoon tea for mums birthday and she was so impressed given it’s her first afternoon tea
Absolutely amazing service and the people who work there are so welcoming and will do anything to make you feel comfortable and happy. The food is out of this world and I can’t wait to come back!!
It was going great until I dropped a cup of tea on myself. I would recommend the experience, not the wet crotch.
Our first visit will certainly not be our last!
We had a lovey time. We had Afternoon tea it was delicious. Sandwich was fresh. Scones were amazing and then we had to tackle the enormous slice of cake. Staff were all very pleasant.
As usual it was 5* we really loved our afternoon tea today. I didnt get the servers name but she was really friendly and helpful. We have been numerous times (lost count now!) But we love it every time! Thank you
Great afternoon tea!
Everything is wonderful here, the cake especially.
This was our first and certainly not last visit to Biddy's! From the welcome we received on our arrival to when we paid before leaving, the staff were very polite, courteous and friendly, especially our Waiter, whose name I didn't get sadly. He was super attentive and very professional while at the same time making us feel comfortable and at ease. The food was amazing! Full Afternoon Tea for 2 was everything we expected and more! We visited on the recommendation of a friend and certainly would have no hesitation in encouraging others to try Biddy's! Brilliant!
The food was lovely and so were the staff. We did have to wait a while to be served though and nobody checked back with us whilst we were eating. As I said though, the food was lovely and the staff, when present, were friendly too.
Excellent friendly staff, great atmosphere and amazing food. We were well Looked after by our server - the young guy who served us on table 7. Very friendly and chatty and fresh faced!
We had a fantastic afternoon tea! The food was delicious, and we loved being able to chose what we had for our afternoon tea. The staff were great too. I would highly recommend you anyone asking where to get an afternoon tea in Norwich! Thank you!
Amazing lavender scones and cakes to match the fantastic, friendly service!
Delicious food- as always, great atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

Lovely staff, food was delicious- will definitely be coming back and have already recommended to others!
Really lovely atmosphere, staff were polite and friendly making the experience very enjoyable. Would definitely come again!
Amazing service from start to finish. Choices of food was amazing & it was delicious too.
A quirky little cafe that serves a delicious afternoon tea. There was a large selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes to choose from, so you can make a really personalised afternoon tea.
All of the staff were amazingly helpful and accommodating so that my sister, her new baby and I could have lunch downstairs, and the food was as delicious as always. Thank you!
Lovely food. Welcoming staff. Spree offer on afternoon tea so great value also.
The table was unclean and looks like pub furniture rather than scrubbed pine which would be more in keeping. The table could have been wiped and cutlery placed (these are booked so you know people will need cutlery) instead we got our pot of tea, which was nearly empty by the time cake and sandwiches arrived. Then we had to wait for cutlery once the cake arrived. there seemed to be plenty of staff but no clear designation of what they were each doing and no process so that there was a service level. so some were chatting in the kitchen and clients waiting for their bill. Don’t like the metal teapots they are not in keeping with afternoon tea. Food was good but could offer option of more than one sandwich filling for variety. I came because someone bought a voucher but I will not be rushing back unless there is clearly an uplift in service level.
Sadly this is not the review I expect to be writing for Biddies as I have been many times before including another Baby Shower and my own Hen Night! There was 11 of us for my daughters baby shower. We had a tiny dessert bowl of salad to share amongst 11 of us! 4 peices of cucumber a few lettuce leaves and that was about it. Most of the party wanted coffee!! We waited an hour and 10 minutes for coffee to arrive! Apparently it was a new machine and the waitress wasn`t sure how to use it! When the coffee did arrive it was luke warm and not many people drank it. She then went downstairs to make some more coffee but it was so strong that most complained to me about it. It was about 8.20pm when those that wanted coffee finally got it!!! It turned out to be the laughing joke of the evening! It`s appalling that a coffee shop has problems serving coffee! I thought £14.95 was actually way over priced for what we got. As for it being a mad hatters tea party like I had for my hen night, there wasn`t any hats etc provided to dress up with! Over all I was actually very disappointed this time with the service. Hence the reason no tip was left! I`m not sure I would want to book another party with you! Never thought I would be writing this as Biddy`s has always been one of my favourite places.
I love Biddys and always have a great time here, thank you 😘
