About Biddy's Kitchen Aylsham
Biddy's Kitchen is situated in the quaint market town of Aylsham, North Norfolk. It houses the bakery that makes all of the treats for Biddys' Tea Room in Norwich
Specialising in serving over 50 blends of loose leaf tea, we serve Afternoon and Cream Teas daily and although there is not always a need to book. Doing so will ensure your table is ready.
We are located in the market place itself, directly before the church. We are approximately 1 mile from the National Trust property of Blickling Hall and under 10 from the North Norfolk Coast areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We have 3 dog friendly tables inside the Tea Room as well as a dog friendly courtyard.
The main part of Aylsham branch is on one floor with ramp access to the shop.
Delightful afternoon tea, always have to take some home.
Excellent service from all the staff, kind, friendly and accommodating as I had my dog with me. All the staff made a fuss of him. Wonderful cakes as well
Have visited and enjoyed lunches before but this was our first afternoon tea here. It will also be the last. By the very nature of it, it's likely be for a special occasion but we waited 40 minutes for one sandwich, one huge slice of very nice cake and the most disappointing scone we've ever tasted. The scone came with a small jar of raspberry jam (I asked if there was strawberry instead but was told that's all they do) and an equally small jar of cream. We then had to ask again for our tea and coffee, which could have come whilst we were waiting for our food. There was no suggestion of a top up of the mug of coffee (which was just a basic coffee as there are no choices available). This really doesn't constitute afternoon tea. Had the sullen assistant shown any interest in us at any time we might have felt better, but although we were greeted by a lovely lady, unfortunately we didn't get served by her. The waitress sent to take our order could barely be bothered to ask what we wanted. She eventually had to ask us again what drinks we'd ordered and at no point were we spoken to again to see if everything was OK. It was all so very disappointing after we'd looked forward to the experience so much as it was given as a treat for a celebration. I've given 1 star for recommending to a friend and for service but that's only because I was unable to give none on this system. I'll have tea and cake here again, but wouldn't recommend afternoon tea unless changes are made.
Couldn't fault the afternoon tea - absolutely delicious and there was so much food!! Was a really excellent experience.
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with family, delicious food and very good service from staff. A relaxing afternoon in the garden before my daughter heads off to university, thanks
Very friendly staff. Food amazing. Would definitely return
Me and my friend went for afternoon tea and asked if we could share one between us because we can't eat a full one to ourselves. We had done this before without a problem. When we asked to do this the lady who served us said "I can't stop you" coldly. This made us feel unwelcome. When we went to pay we were served by another member of staff who tried to charge us for an afternoon tea for two as that was what was left on the computer. Can't help but feel like the first lady wanted to charge us per person rather than by the amount of food we had ordered.
Had a voucher as a Christmas gift enjoyed our tea lovely food
Fantastic afternoon tea! The sandwiches and scones were incredible, scone was even still warm! Definitely value to money and would definitely return. Only small downside, service was slightly slow upon arrival as our table wasn’t ready - appreciate that due to Covid you were running on less staff potentially however there wasn’t many people at tables when we arrived. All in all incredible and WILL be returning!!!
Excellent service and food was delicious. Shall definitely be visiting again.
As a regular customer of both Biddys I was so disappointed with our Afternoon Tea yesterday in Aylsham The young staff had absolutely no clue about what was available and what we for was nothing like what was served to us ( after a 53 minute wait - not acceptable for a simple sandwich and scone and cake ) the bread was dry, and falling apart at the crust. I asked for simple white bread and ham as it was for a child with a sausage roll. The young girl cane to the table 3 times to check what he wanted and finally brought out an adult afternoon tea - with the dry bread and ham. The adult afternoon teas werent much better - the bread was brown not granary - not an issue but with such a small menu the staff really do need to be trained better. The ham sandwich came with the largest lump of lettuce root which was 100% visible and it was not ham mustard and tomato more like bagged sour lettuce and ham. Again nothing like whats offered on the menu. The lettuce root therefore the entire sandwich was inedible. When we asked to see the manager we were told “its her First day she doesnt know what shes doing “ and the supervisor also had no idea. So disappointing and expensive at £45 Really hope these staff receive proper training as it really was chaos. Biddys is one of my favourites but I wont be in a hurry to recommend it now - such a shame Lisa Cubitt
Had a lovely time, the reason for the low score on service was because we got there for our 2pm booking, the waitress came and gave us our menus and said she would be back In 5 minutes to take our order, almost half an hour later we had to go to the counter to ask for someone to come to take our order, which was not good, I accept the shop was fairly busy but we were forgotten about. Otherwise we had a very nice afternoon tea.
The best afternoon tea we have ever had! So much choice and the cakes, scones etc are just fabulous! We love coming here, it’s a real treat!
Lovely gluten free afternoon tea

We always come here because we can choose what we have in the Afternoon Tea as we are a fussy family Everything was great as usual and we felt completely safe. The staff were friendly and helpful
Delicious, good gluten free options, and more than enough to really indulge. We'll be back!
