About Beechfield House
A stunning 4 AA red star, 2 AA rosette, relaxed country house hotel near Bath in Wiltshire with 2 private dining rooms and 2 restaurant spaces. Perfect for chilling, eating and drinking. Dog and family-friendly.
Beechfield house is in a great location, is a beautiful house and the staff are very pleasant but the quality of both afternoon tea and cream tea food were disappointing, not good quality (or in some respects home made) so not worth the money paid. Earl grey tea and coffee were ok (standard). I will probably go to bowood next time.
A hotel stay we couldn’t fault. Spotlessly clean, delightful staff and a beautiful setting. The pool and outside sitting area was particularly lovely. Excellent food with beautifully fresh garden vegetables.
Lovely afternoon tea, pleasant service and just right in the present circumstances. Pleased to see a local business recovering from Covid created problems. Good luck!
Breakfast well below standard, I think covdid has taken its toll with only a few staff to try and keep things going- Could be a lot better. The evening chef food was VERY good. Bedrooms in coach house lovely, no cleaning service of which we were not made aware of prior to booking but still paid full price.
We booked this hotel as we were offered a special dinner as part of our package. On the night when we had come down for dinner we were told there was a gas issue in the kitchen and no meal could be provided. We found this very difficult to understand for a AA rosette restaurant, especially as there was gas for breakfast in the morning. For breakfast we had to book the night before and it only opened at 8am (not a good time for my husband who had to go to work that day). At breakfast then we also waited ages for our food which was cold and a few ingredients were also not available i.e. the fish, fruit etc. The hotel itself was lovely but too many issues which didn't seem viable for us to visit again
Excellent, lovely food and a beautiful room. Was slightly difficult to find staff when needed, but was nice to be left to our own devices. Would recommend.
Very good food but I hate it when they add a service charge on top of what is already a pricey meal
The service was a little too familiar with repeated, yes repeated, observations about our level of alcohol consumption which was not in the least excessive. There didn't seem to be anyone over 30 working there, so the place lacked gravitas. Very good bread. Dissappointingly limited menu though the chicken supremme was very good.
Delightful birthday lunch for 8 adults and 2 children in a private dining room. Good food and menu at affordable prices and attentive service. Lovely hotel set in pleasant grounds. Will definitely dine there again.
Really enjoyed our cream tea , my only concern was the stained chairs , very off putting,
A very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings.
I have used Beechfield House for family events in the past and as usual our guests experienced a high standard of attention from the hotel staff. Our meal was of outstanding quality a great deal of effort being put in to cater for the dietary requirements of individuals. All guests have commented on how much they enjoyed the experience.
The full afternoon tea we had was amazing. Lovely and relaxed atmosphere , great service and very tasty food. We will definitely return.
