Start the day with a coffee, pop in for a bite of lunch or treat yourself to our pre-theatre meal on show nights.
For those with a sweet tooth and a love of caffeine we also have a selection of cakes to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.

Steak pie - the crust was a slab of pastry cooked separately, not a pie crust. This is common, but not in a restaurant of this quality.
Very pleasant but haphazard and slow service. Very limited lunchtime menu.
The pre theatre menu offered an excellent selection of dishes in all three courses. The quality and presentation of the food was above and beyond our expectations. The service was also first class, Thank you!
The menu advertised online when the booking was made was not the same that was offered last night. This should be clearly called out.
Just want to say a big thank you to the team who accommodated us today. There was an event on which potentially prevented us from eating there today, but the team went above and beyond to ensure our lunch reservation could go ahead. Food and service was brilliant. Thank you again!

Nice meal before show
Food was excellent as usual. Bar/kitchen staff could manage better with additional support, as there is insufficient time to enjoy your meal before the theatre bell rings. Allowed 1.5hrs.
Thank you for your feedback and we agree that one & half hours is not enough time to enjoy your meal before a show. May we suggest any future bookings for 8 guests should be booked for 5pm giving you plenty of time to relax after your meal. Thought your pre theatre menu was expensive for the choice and quality. The fish was like oven baked that you would get from Ikea cafe. Frozen chips. The deserts where all bought in and showed. Quality plates but poor food. Wouldn't recommend it or use the restaurant again...same as it has great potential.
Our Pre-Theatre menu price should not have been a surprise as it is available online when booking and on our website. Thankfully the majority of our customer do not share your views and see significant changes in quality and presentation. Unlike the past our menus will be changing on a monthly/seasonal basis. We thank you for your comments and can assure you that we take this feedback very serious. With every negative there is a positive and if we need to make any changes, rest assured we will do this. We had a lovely relaxed evening. The restaurant was beautifully set out in a relaxed, casual way, with lighting, varied size of tables, and pleasant temperature, all helping the atmosphere. The food was delicious...noted by everyone. It included vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Buffet style suited our event so well. The staff were helpful, and pleasant, taking part in the raffle, chatting with people they knew, added to the community spirit. There was an area already set up for our singer, the tea/coffee station was accessible to all, for the whole of the evening, which was lovely. The bar was open too, and service was friendly and efficient. Our event probably took longer than anticipated, because it was so enjoyable being in the Beacon restaurant, but at no time did we feel we were being rushed out. Apologies if we outstayed our time. The event marked the end of our photographic exhibition for Amnesty International which was displayed in the space upstairs, where ther was room and atmosphere for attendees to walk around, discuss, and watch the video clips on the monitor provided for our use. In setting up, and making use of the space, we received encouragement, appreciation, and assistance from the all the Beacon staff A perfect evening for our event. Many commented that it was the best night out they had been to for a long time, and part of that was due to to Beacon’s facilities, and it’s staff. Many thanks. Inverclyde Amnesty International Group
Food delicious and great service.
Haven't been for a while. Would never have recommended it before. Big improvement. Very enjoyable and relaxing before the pantomime, not hurried or rushed then wandered out for our seats when we were ready. Food was excellent. SERVICE was good. We will be back. Thank you.

Automated booking system poor. Took 4 attempts before I finally spoke to someone. E-mail confirmation gave me 2 different times.. What`s wrong with someone answering the phone and it would have been completed in a few minutes. If I was recommending you to anyone, I would certainly point out the booking system..
We are sorry you found difficulty in making your booking directly with a member of staff. During service, our restaurant team can be waiting on tables resulting in unanswered calls. This was unacceptable and as vast improvement of service, we introduced our new booking system. By utilising this service you will see that it put’s control into the hands of the customer. You are now able to easily book via 4 methods. 1st by your mobile calling our designated booking number, 2nd our website. 3rd Facebook and 4th through the ResDiary App. We would recommend downloading the ResDiary App for Apple and Android phones. This fantastic App will not only enable you to book the Beacon, but restaurants anywhere you may be visiting. We are delighted that you enjoyed our food and the changes we have implemented.
