About Bar Soba Edinburgh
Launched in 1999 on Mitchell Lane in Glasgow, Bar Soba fast became a staple of the city’s burgeoning bar and restaurant scene. Serving quality Pan-Asian Street food with dishes from across the Orient, Soba has endeavoured to provide its diners with an unforgettable culinary experience.
We also lead the way with the original and best cocktail masterclasses as our highly-skilled mixologists take our guests through the tricks and tools of the trade: free pouring, flair moves & pours, astounding spirits savvy and other secrets of the mixology profession.
We took our patented mix of exhilarating cocktails and mouthwatering cuisine to the West End of Glasgow in January 2012, opening on Byres Road, before growing the Soba brand further and landing on Hanover Street in Edinburgh in December 2012.
Staff very welcoming and attentive. Food was great. Would definitely book again.
The girl who served us was really lovely and had exceptional customer service. The food was gorgeous as always.
Great service as usual, boozy brunch supberb value for money.
Good food, good service and good music
I love the food but! Last year every time we came the coffee machine was broken . Have not been for a while and decided to come again for lunch and guess what , yes it was not working we had to leave and go elsewhere for coffee . This is a pain . Please get a new machine . I will be back again when it's fixed if you can let me know.
Great food, great service, all in all a very nice couple of hours spent in a lively atmosphere. Alex was our waitress and she was great. Thumbs up to the chef for the awesome curry.
food was awesome. Staff fantastic. only negative was basement door being left open, in winter this is not comfortable.
Amazing food and great cocktails. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't wait til I'm back!
Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as good as we've previously had. Food okay, drinks average and poor service.
Brilliant service and lovely food.
Excellent food, our Wee waitress was awesome!
Very quick express lunch and good value and quality
2nd time being here and definitely not my last for the boozy brunch, such a good value deal, but also the food is amazing, the drinks are also really good quality if not a tad slow if it’s busy! The chef came to give us the bill this time (had met him before when a friend had a shellfish allergy and he made special food for her) really good staff, great food and overall enjoyable, we had gotten our first table position in front of a speaker that was way toooo loud but otherwise fab place!
Very nice food again, good service and nice atmosphere
Boozy brunch is a great deal and food is fantastic!!
lovely food, great service and good value for money
Absolutely fantastic service from all staff. friendly, informative, attentive. Interesting food and good value for money. Great atmosphere. Will be back.
Food was great. Really good service. Everybody was really friendly.
At restaurant on a busy Saturday night with friends from Aberdeen and Australia. The waiter service was excellent - even down to checking the strength of beers for one of the diners. The food was lovely, as usual, and our friends were also well impressed with the quality and different flavours. Will be back without a doubt.
The food was really nice and great service, attentive and exceed all our requirements, it was a little quiet as was a Thursday afternoon so understandable but keep up the good work and keep adding more GF options please - Thank you
There were some staffing issues but didn't affect us. Love this place, food atmosphere and drinks! Although the Glasgow branch serves tap water with cucumber and strawberry...a nice touch that Edinburgh should add
Terribly slow service, especially on drinks - ended up leaving early and not even completing our Boozy Brunch!
Had the boozy brunch yesterday with 4 friends. Food was lovely as were the waiting staff however there was not enough staff on to cope with the numbers of customers which resulted in slow service. We were in before during August and a similar experience. We really felt sorry for the staff as you could see they were doing the best they could. It possibly may be an idea to include cocktails that can be made in bulk to speed up service or dare I say it jugs of cocktails. I forgot to take the name of the waitress but she was wearing a green blouse and she was fabulous. I will be back but it just needs a few tweaks. The overselling of the cocktails in the city certainly wouldn't have helped which was not the fault of the restaurant.
