When it comes to conjuring up wonderfully creative dishes championing locally sourced British produce, we have two brilliantly experienced chefs at the helm:
Executive Chef, Steven Tuke; &
Head Chef, Ian Roberts.
First time here not bad but some fine tuning needed. Will most probably give it another go in about six months to see if any better.
Great atmosphere and ambience They really have done a great job in decorating and restoring the original features of the Courthouse. Food is delicious every time we have eaten here. This time was extra special as we were tasting our wedding menu :-) Cannot wait for the Rooftop gardens to open
What a super place, great atmosphere and hugely impressive food. The teeny beetroot and carrot with the guinueafowl were just stunning. My wife had a teeny issue with the millefeuilles desert (it bore no resemblance whatsoever!) but still enjoyed it. Super staff, so friendly. Complimentary Prosecco on mentioning our anniversary was a nice touch. Excellent new place.
Our waitress was delightful and couldn't have been more helpful. The food was ok but nothing special - certainly not for the hungry!! We returned the scones as they had been over baked and were entirely inedible. The waitress kindly replaced them. The afternoon tea was extremely over-priced for what we got. It was a birthday celebration and we left feeling disappointed, which is a shame.
Fabulous setting in a iconic building - service was attentive and food quality/presentation on the mains you would expect in a fine dining restaurant.
I'd heard some grumblings from friends about Barristers, but having eaten there previously, albeit a while ago, we decided to give it a go. The place was pretty much empty on a Friday night, maybe 14 people dining, which was a worrying start. The staff were very friendly, professional and tried their best, but there was simply no atmosphere. When the food arrived it became apparent why it was empty, at best the food was very average. Knutsford could really do with Barristers getting their act together, there is a place in the market for them. Hopefully, they can get the Rooftop Gardens open and 're-launch' the food side at the same time. If they miss that golden opportunity, then its going to be more than an uphill slog to rescue their reputation
Great food, the place is stunning but lacks on matching service, service was ok, but not high class. The atmosphere was inexistent, the lighting is wrong, you need to create more theatrical experience, Gusto down the road got it right, copy them. Keep the chef, the food was extraordinary
Some of the finest food my family have eaten! Excellent
Lovely place, lovely waitress, the taster menu was good value for money. The place lacked atmosphere, but I guess it was a week night and maybe not so popular.
Impeccable service and the food was fantastic we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Interesting venue and excellent food offering. Very enjoyable experience.
Lovely setting & staff were lovely.
We always enjoy our visits to Barristers and we think the opening of the Rooftop Gardens will really help the atmosphere and business of the place.
Fabulous setting with sterling service and marvellous food. How about a fixed price early bird menu to get us back more often? Really looking forward to the opening of the roof top garden
We wanted a light lunch, so we ordered the padron peppers,( absolutely delicious!) to nibble on with a glass of champers then we shared a couple of sandwiches with a side order of delicious crispy yet fluffy fat chips. Fantastic! We enjoy the lunches here, it’s always consistently good
The food was excellent, with service that surpassed. Percy and Balazs could not have been nicer.
Outstanding lunch, thank you. Will definitely be visiting again
We had the loveliest of nights. We were initially concerned about there being a ball next door, but this could not be heard from our table at all. The atmosphere was sophisticated and calm while having an exclusive feel. The service was amazing, everyone was so thoughtful, polite and professional. Myself and my partner had commented on how much we were checked up on. It was lovely. Within half an hour of us being at our table, three members of staff had welcomed us, asked how we were and made friendly conversation with ourselves. The drinks that we ordered were brilliantly made. We would even go as far to say that they were two of the best we have had. I ordered the Cosmopolitan and my partner ordered the Cinnamon Old Fashioned. Both really enjoyable. The food was perfect. It was served in good time, with enough of a resting space in between courses and was cooked to perfection. Very flavoursome, particularly well cooked and presented beautifully. It is in an ideal location, right next to the trail of cocktail and gin bars as well as being amongst other restaurants. The only issue that we had was parking; we were unable to park on your property; however, we did find somewhere on the housing estate opposite the restaurant. We will definitely be visiting again very very soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Beautiful refurbishment inside & The Gentlemans Afternoon Tea was delightful ....the savoury selection made a real change and was very substantial . Would have swapped the scone for a slice of pork pie though ...the minty lamb pasty was gorgeous as was the toastie ...yes ! We really enjoyed it .Will definitely visit again and looking forward to the opening of the rooftop terrace . Our waiter Balazs , was friendly and efficient . Highly recommended .
Lovely family meal
Beautiful restoration of building. All members of staff were very friendly and efficient, when we went to have a look round the staff took time to explain what the rooms were going to be. It was good value for money and the afternoon tea was lovely.
Perfect afternoon tea experience for a be-lated mothers day!
My guests and I enjoyed an untroubled get together over a fine meal and pleasant service.
I'm sorry for the low scores but our Mother's Day afternoon tea was a massive disappointment - and we were so looking forward to it. The drinks took ages to arrive, there weren't enough staff on for the number of covers, the room was overcrowded, none of us received our food together - it all came separately at different times, the tea was luke warm, there was only one savoury meal available (but we ordered two) and, the gluten free bread was like cardboard. Sadly, we won't be coming back. The saving grace was that our waiter was lovely and Jeremy played great music!
It was so disorganised and overpriced for what we got, nobody knew what they were doing.Had to ask a couple of times for drinks the tea was cold when it arrived, We'd booked for 2pm which was confirmed by email, but you had us in for 3pm. We waited an hour for our food even though it was pre booked.Table wasn't cleared away. When we went to pay we waited and had to ask a couple of times for assistanceTold a member of staff who hoped we would come back. The food was nice but overpriced and not much of it. Didnt feel as special as it should have for mothers day .Overall very disappointed wouldn't recommend you or return,
