Lovely setting & staff were lovely.
We always enjoy our visits to Barristers and we think the opening of the Rooftop Gardens will really help the atmosphere and business of the place.
Fabulous setting with sterling service and marvellous food. How about a fixed price early bird menu to get us back more often? Really looking forward to the opening of the roof top garden
We wanted a light lunch, so we ordered the padron peppers,( absolutely delicious!) to nibble on with a glass of champers then we shared a couple of sandwiches with a side order of delicious crispy yet fluffy fat chips. Fantastic! We enjoy the lunches here, it’s always consistently good
The food was excellent, with service that surpassed. Percy and Balazs could not have been nicer.
Outstanding lunch, thank you. Will definitely be visiting again
We had the loveliest of nights. We were initially concerned about there being a ball next door, but this could not be heard from our table at all. The atmosphere was sophisticated and calm while having an exclusive feel. The service was amazing, everyone was so thoughtful, polite and professional. Myself and my partner had commented on how much we were checked up on. It was lovely. Within half an hour of us being at our table, three members of staff had welcomed us, asked how we were and made friendly conversation with ourselves. The drinks that we ordered were brilliantly made. We would even go as far to say that they were two of the best we have had. I ordered the Cosmopolitan and my partner ordered the Cinnamon Old Fashioned. Both really enjoyable. The food was perfect. It was served in good time, with enough of a resting space in between courses and was cooked to perfection. Very flavoursome, particularly well cooked and presented beautifully. It is in an ideal location, right next to the trail of cocktail and gin bars as well as being amongst other restaurants. The only issue that we had was parking; we were unable to park on your property; however, we did find somewhere on the housing estate opposite the restaurant. We will definitely be visiting again very very soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Beautiful refurbishment inside & The Gentlemans Afternoon Tea was delightful ....the savoury selection made a real change and was very substantial . Would have swapped the scone for a slice of pork pie though ...the minty lamb pasty was gorgeous as was the toastie ...yes ! We really enjoyed it .Will definitely visit again and looking forward to the opening of the rooftop terrace . Our waiter Balazs , was friendly and efficient . Highly recommended .
Lovely family meal
Beautiful restoration of building. All members of staff were very friendly and efficient, when we went to have a look round the staff took time to explain what the rooms were going to be. It was good value for money and the afternoon tea was lovely.
Perfect afternoon tea experience for a be-lated mothers day!
My guests and I enjoyed an untroubled get together over a fine meal and pleasant service.
I'm sorry for the low scores but our Mother's Day afternoon tea was a massive disappointment - and we were so looking forward to it. The drinks took ages to arrive, there weren't enough staff on for the number of covers, the room was overcrowded, none of us received our food together - it all came separately at different times, the tea was luke warm, there was only one savoury meal available (but we ordered two) and, the gluten free bread was like cardboard. Sadly, we won't be coming back. The saving grace was that our waiter was lovely and Jeremy played great music!
It was so disorganised and overpriced for what we got, nobody knew what they were doing.Had to ask a couple of times for drinks the tea was cold when it arrived, We'd booked for 2pm which was confirmed by email, but you had us in for 3pm. We waited an hour for our food even though it was pre booked.Table wasn't cleared away. When we went to pay we waited and had to ask a couple of times for assistanceTold a member of staff who hoped we would come back. The food was nice but overpriced and not much of it. Didnt feel as special as it should have for mothers day .Overall very disappointed wouldn't recommend you or return,
We loved it! Staff were fantastic and best Sunday roast we’ve had in a long time.
We had a lovely time celebrating Mother’s Day with our family. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was very pleasing and we couldn’t fault the service from our lovely waitress who was both professional and friendly. We will definitely eat here again!
Chaotic. An utter omnishambles of the first order. Had you intentionally set out to upset and wreck a Mother's Day treat you could not have done a more comprehensive job. After glibly announcing that your much vaunted choices for afternoon tea (that we had confirmed days before) were not available for no apparent reason, we were then told that you could also not provide any plain scones. Service for teas & drinks was patchy. Live music finished just as we arrived at 3.30. Random approach to seating in the afternoon tea area with some decent modern looking furniture and other tables and chairs that looked as if they had been borrowed from a Civic centre storeroom. "Cloakroom" was a rail with random hangers parked up against a wall in full view of diners. 45 minutes after ordering what was now a compulsory no choice no options "lets see what you get" afternoon tea - nothing had arrived. So we left. I have no inclination to return and will loudly extol the virtues to anyone who will listen, of trying almost any food venue in Knutsford before going anywhere near this place.
It's an amazing-looking restaurant and the staff are fantastic, but the meal size of two of our party was pretty shocking really. I had the chicken and sweetcorn main course and I'd say it was the size of a small starter, and I'm not a big eater. The piece of chicken was absolutely tiny and I had two very, very small potatoes. I honestly couldn't believe the size of it, and if I hadn't have been with friends who were paying I would definitely have complained. Also, you need to improve signage about the parking charges, two of our party paid as they didn't realise they could have free parking as a diners.
We had a fantastic meal, food was delicious and service lovely as always but it is a shame there are limited vegetarian options available, it would be nice to see something other than pasta or risotto as a choice. Look forward to our next visit soon.
We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. The staff were cheerful, helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and the wine very nice but feel you should offer some cheaper priced bottles and house wines. The only slight gripe it was a bit on the cool side and the heating needs a tweek on colder days. Will definitely come again.
I was very disappointed with the ‘lamb hotpot’ Which was a piece of lamb with some carrots and a tiny bit of potato. There was no red cabbage with the meal and I wouldn’t expect a hotpot to be totally dry which it was. Sorry but that was how it was and it was very disappointing.
Excellent, friendly service at this restaurant. Food was of exceptional quality and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Everything was superb. It was our first time having a meal but will definitely be back again to eat. The one thing is we did find it cold. We kept our coats on most of the time which made it alittle uncomfortable
Fantastic service, very friendly staff. Food was incredible and very well presented. Interesting quirky atmosphere. Only very slight issue was seating was a tiny bit "squashed" - however this is due to the restaurant having the old courthouse furnishings and well worth it.
