Afternoon tea very nice - waiting staff could have been more attentive. Due to low numbers the room felt empty. Really good food though
Very accommodating and lovely food. Would highly recommend!
Tasty food, excellent service from friendly, efficient waiting staff. Worth a revisit!
Quality of food ok but not outstanding, quantity fell well short of value for money.
Our party of four all enjoyed excellent meals with professionally friendly and excellent service. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Thank you, keep doing it!
very nice lunch good service
You made my Mother’s 70th birthday extra special with the lovely cream tea she had. You even brought out a decorated plate with happy 70th birthday on and a sparkler which I didn’t expect it really made her day. Thank you so much
The food was amazing and I can't thank the staff enough for making my partner's birthday very special! An extra thank you for the dessert and sparkler!
Going just after new year there was no option for a "gentleman's tea" available on the day but service was extremely good & professional
We had a lovely meal celebrating a 50th birthday. the food was excellent, and service very good. Staff went out of their way to help us celebrate / decorate the table etc. Much appreciated and would recommend for a special occasion.
Wonderful service from the moment we booked, it was a 40th Birthday celabration Alison on reception was a great communicator and organised the whole event. Bar and waiting staff attentive and informative. The lady who I'm sorry I didn't catch her name even got sweets out of her car when the kids were pinching the mints lol . Many many thanks for the special day xx
Very enjoyable post Christmas break.
The atmosphere was lovely and the service was great. Most of the food was delicious but thought the cheese was a bit tired. Otherwise it was a great night
Lovely afternoon tea, in great setting
Had a fantastic birthday meal with my husband. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food was beautifully presented and was fantastic. Can not wait to return for another special occasion.
very good pie!
Our second visit to Barnsdale Lodge was just as enjoyable as the first. The relaxed conservatory atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff and excellent food mean we'll certainly return for more in the future. Well worth a visit, especially in winter when the log fires are glowing and there's the extra sparkle of festive cheer.
Wonderful decoration and style. Perfectly presented. Relaxing atmosphere. It would have been even better if: - we had been offered a teapot refill - we could select from different teas e.g earl grey - we had been informed of the changes to the afternoon tea menu for the cakes and mouse - we had been offered a choice of tables - there was the option to have a savoury afternoon tea e.g finger sandwiches, pork pie, sausage roll, cheese for non-sweet toothed people like us, not many places offer this currently.
What a lovely venue, beautiful scenery, great food and fantastic service. We will most definitely be back. Thank you.
The food was excellent. The best risotto I have ever tasted and I loved the banana cheesecake.
Firstly it was cold. We felt that the service was not great. Not one member of staff asked if we needed anything or checked we were ok. The cakes were very dry and the sandwich fillings were very slim to the point of more butter than filling. All I all quite disappointing. We have been several times before for afternoon tea and this was not great compared to other visits
Prompt service good food a pleasant afternoons experience for tea in a very nice setting
Spent a lovely afternoon having champagne afternoon tea with our daughter and son-in-law to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday.
We were a party of ten, some from abroad celebrating our 30th anniversary, all were very happy with the food which was well presented. As it was very busy we were not unhappy at the length of service as it gave us time to chat. Would thoroughly recommend Barnsdale Lodge lovely atmosphere for our celebration and also got to see the bride from the wedding party too.
