I stayed at the hotel for the girlfriend’s birthday and we couldn’t fault The hotel. Dinner in the oak room was superb. I myself am a sous chef in a 2 rosette restaurant and can happily say the food and service was outstanding. Friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Will definitely be coming back as the hotel is only 7 miles away.
Our room was very loud well into the night. We were kept away/woken up on a number of occasions. Everything else was wonderful though
We had a wonderful New Year dining with you. We particularly appreciated the atmospheric music and the fires in each of the dining rooms.
Wonderful ambience and great service. Superb wine selection also!
My husband and I had Christmas lunch at Barnett Hill and having never visited before we were thrilled to have booked. We can not speak highly enough of the quality of the food and the level of service. It really did make our Christmas and would recommend it 100%. Now we know where it is we will be popping in for lunches and Sunday lunch in the coming new year. Our compliments to the head chef and his team for superb food. Also the Maitre de and his team for great service.
Service was a bit on the slow side although senior staff were friendly and attentive. Starter was great, main course a bit dry, and missing Brussels sprouts with the turkey, Xmas pudding very solid. I enjoyed the canapés and sparking wine before hand. But the atmosphere was great will visit again.
Beautiful property in stunning location, room was lovely, everything in pristine order, the library was cozy and relaxing. Only slight disappointment was the food. Dinner menu was limited, particularly for a vegetarian and at breakfast the eggs and hash browns were under cooked.
We went for Sunday lunch with our 9 month old. Everyone was delightful and we had a brilliant time. The food was honestly the best I've had. Best roasts.
We got married there ten years ago so wanted to go back for our special anniversary. The staff treated us so well and the food tasted amazing.
We had Sunday lunch on an offer which was great value for 2 courses. Lovely food, very relaxed dining
Excellent food. Beautifully balanced flavours.
Having booked in advance and stated I would want a vegetarian dinner there was only one choice... a mushroom risotto which was disappointing. Service, value and atmosphere was ok but not great. Luckily there was a works party that added atmosphere-just us and one other table occupied in the restaurant. I had also been overcharged and the Front of House Manager was difficult to deal with at check out. Also disappointing when the manicure/pedicure treatments booked couldn’t be fulfilled. On the positive side our room was very nice and clean. I stay at many hotels and eat out regularly. Overall, I felt disappointed as it was a birthday treat for my mum.
Lovely food and service.
The food was excellent, the roast beef medium rare as requested and very tender. We had ordered a birthday chocolate cake, which was delightful and looked a work of art. Overall a very pleasing lunch experience.
Fantastic service....Amazing food.... Stunning hotel. Highly recommended for everyone to go & Dine at this beautiful hotel!! The Sunday lunch was out of this world.... next time I’m going for the afternoon tea experience. ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent food and service
Food and service were very good but it was very over priced for what it was
Very slow service, lukewarm food and overpriced for overall experience
Great improvement on front of house very professional!
Superb food and attentive staff the Christmas decorations need to go up would then feel festive lacked atmosphere
Beautiful building and gardens, room was very clean and well maintained. Dinner started well and the starters were great, main course was a let down and desert was not at all good and really let the whole meal down.
On arrival nobody was initially available to greet me at reception. Once I had checked in the receptionist walked me half way to my room and pointed out the rest of the way. The room was very spacious and tastefully designed. My wife and I then went for dinner in the oak room. The food and drink given was excellent although the service was disappointing given there was only three other guests in the restaurant. The beer on the menu was unavailable, the waiter forgot our side dish with our main and we weren’t offered any water when we could see it sitting on the side. He was a very pleasant and polite young man but maybe inexperienced. Overall though it was an enjoyable meal. When we got back to the room we thought we would watch TV in bed only for the reception to lose signal every 10 seconds which was very frustrating. Breakfast was fantastic and the waiter was excellent. The buildings and grounds are manicured beautifully however I feel the service offered didn’t match the price charged. This venue could easily become a 5 star venue with a bit more attention to detail. Overall a good experience.
Lovely hotel and staff. Unfortunately not any options for vegans on menu.
Service in the restaurant was a little slow but i'm guessing that was because it was a Sunday evening. Every other aspect of our stay was excellent.
We had a lovely meal at the Oak Room while staying at the Barnett Hill Hotel. There was a wedding on at the same time but despite being busy with 110 wedding guests, the service was excellent and we were well looked after. We both had steak, which was cooked exactly as requested and the triple cooked chips were delicious. We didn't have room for dessert (though there were some tempting options) so we opted for coffee and petit fours.
