We were given a lovely gift for christmas - an afternoon tea at Barnett Hill Hotel so I am unable to comment on cost. The tea was wonderful - we were seated in a lovely restaurant next to a window with views of the gardens. The staff were really good - nothing was too much trouble. The tea was delicious - finger sandwiches, prawn vol-au-vents and egg rolls followed by a great assortment of lovely cakes. Highlight of the tea were the warm scones, jam and cream - absolutely delicious.
Had a lovely time
Waited over half an hour to be served and was asked 5 times for a voucher explained we was staying and had booked food was ok. Bad service
The waiter was prompt serving the Prosecco but then never returned with the tea. We had to ask for it
Hi we had a pleasant time having our afternoon tea, although I did complain regarding the scones which were very dry. I was offered another scone to which we declined as it would probably would have been of similar quality. We also were charged a further five pounds as we should have booked for mid-week. I hadn't noticed that on our groupon, given that the restaurant was rather empty it did seem rather odd to have been charged. We had a drink in the bar later and that was very cosy and friendly. Regards I. Copp
More sandwiches less cake please
good value and lovely venue
Good service though no one there when we had finished our tea
The waiter serving afternoon tea on Saturday was excellent! Very polite, friendly and professional.
There were 2 finger sandwiches, one courgette/pepper and one chicken/cranberry so not a wide choice and not to everyone's taste! I didnt feel particularly welcome when we arrived and although the head waiter was pleasant enough (a little taciturn) the two young men waiting on tables barely spoke and one plonked the coffee down so hard it slopped everywhere and he then just walked away and left it. The setting is absolutely amazing though so it is a shame! They need to do a decent range of sandwiches and train their staff in how to greet and serve visitors.
The food was good for the price, the venue was absolutely gorgeous, but a huge disappointment when you go inside and you're shuffled off the "groupon vouchers room" it's an awful room in comparison to the rest of the hotel and is very clear that they thought they'd make some money by shoving some chairs and tables in there and using it as the vouchers room, very embarrassing and very disappointing the room has no decoration and so the atmosphere was terrible, would not book afternoon tea through groupon here again. Such a shame as it wouldnt take much to make it a really lovely experience, namely a different room and not made to feel like you are the "voucher" people.
We had a lovely afternoon tea - the scones were served warm and with plenty of clotted cream and jam. We have a few dietary preferences which we noted when we booked and they were handled very well. The little cakes were delicious too.
Lovely afternoon tea, glad had a groupon voucher
Lovely venue and good service but extortionately priced for the afternoon tea. Only one other couple dining at the time and they used a money saving voucher which I wasn't aware of so I paid over £67 for 3 adults to have each: 2 finger sandwiches, one egg roll, one tiny salmon circle, 2 scones and tiny cakes. It would have been a nice gesture to offer me the same discount. Very nice venue but will not go again.
The food was really nice, I can’t really comment on value as we were bought a gift voucher for the experience. And that is where the experience was let down, as the team were unfamiliar with the voucher and came up 4 times during our experience to tell us there was a problem and they couldn’t accept the voucher. This was eventually resolved after getting on the phone to the gift voucher company, but took a while and shouldn't have been necessary. I would recommend this venue to others, but this did rather spoil the experience for us unfortunately.
Wasn’t the best afternoon tea.. actually pretty disappointing. The room the afternoon tea in isn’t particularly nice. The services wasn’t great - waiter didn’t speak or acknowledge us and the other waiter didn’t speak great English. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
My sons and I really enjoyed our tea. The staff were very nice. We also enjoyed the beautiful hotel and garden. Will be booking to stay there next year.
I came with my 2 daughters and we all really enjoyed it. It brought back memories as my youngest daughter got married here 2 years ago. The only criticism is that there could have been more ssndwiches
Very enjoyable afternoon tea and very attentive staff. Lots of variety of sandwiches and cakes. All very fresh and yummy! Only criticism is that the waiter didn’t go through what everything was so was a bit of guess work with the cakes! But other than that was perfect!
A lovely afternoon tea - a tasty selection of savoury and pastries. Plus delicious scones with plenty of jam and cream. A wide selection of teas
We went to Barnett Hill yesterday for afternoon tea, a gift from my children for my 50th birthday. I was so impressed from start to finish. The staff were all very professional and lovely, the food was delicious and the place beautiful!
Our server was very lovely and attentive, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. The afternoon tea was delicious and well presented.
Having sampled several of these experiences over the years, this would be one of the better ones, but a little way off the best.
What a great place to have s meal Afternoon tea was great we will soon be back for lunch or dinner with friends
