Barletta is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant, touring the town of Margate through the seasons. You may have caught us in Dreamland last summer, or up at Urchin Wines in winter. You can now find us up on the roof near the main sands for a 12 week residency (4th July - 4th Oct).
The food blew us away! Delicious! The service was fab.. and now serving at The Rose in June.. match made in heaven 🙌
Very enjoyable evening with great food and service. The rooftop setting was very atmospheric.
Food surpassed expectations, and views were great. Would highly recommend.
LOVE LOVE LOVE! 4 trips later, still love it x
As always, fantastic food, great atmosphere, amazing service. Sublime!
We had an amazing evening at Barletta - the food and drinks were excellent, and the service perfect, thank you!
I had the best time celebrating my birthday at Barletta! Food was fantastic (carrots, pasta and the fennel salad were our standouts), perfect service and great selection of natural wines. All very reasonable when we came to pay, also. We'll be back ⭐️
We had a lovely time at Barletta! Good people, good food and good vibes. Service was friendly and welcoming, food was hot, fresh and delicious. The carrots were sensational! Would highly recommend
*&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&lp[; vcvxcellent atmosphere and very attentive, stylish, professional and friendly service. Really good and well chosen music just at the right level to create a buzzing atmosphere but not loud enough to ;///////////b .||Vgive you indigestion. My only complaint is that the orzo dish, albeit very tasty was more like a primo in an Italian restaurant than a mains. Although a Pescatarian I do allow myself occasionally to eat meat at restaurants. I found myself therefore coveting my wife's burger so ordered a second mains which was delicious and dispatched within about 60 seconds. I would have liked to have seen a bit more fish and a more substantial vegetarian offer on the menu as well as some street food like arancini for example. Inspite of this small complaint however we really loved the place and think it would definitely appeal to trendy North London types who increasing seem to enjoy Margate. (apologies for the incomprehensible parts written in cat. The cat, Percival, felt compelled to express her opinion of the restaurant.)
We had a really lovely evening here. Fab food, wonderful friendly staff, brilliant atmosphere. An excellent spot in Margate.
Great food served by shiny happy people. Loved the negronis and chilled red wine.
Really high quality delicious food, very attentive service, our large group with dietary requirements was looked after well. Even though it was windy and bad weather the rooftop was still a great spot for a meal
Due to a mix up by the waiter in passing our order to the kitchen, our meals were served at different times. We accepted that. We were then given the wrong information about dessert as the menu had not been changed. So I received salted caramel ice cream not creme fraiche sorbet. I swapped for my husband’s dessert. We were then asked to pay 12.5 % service charge. Which we did, waiting for some sort of acknowledgement that the service had not been great ... nothing. Belatedly, when we then mentioned it, we were offered a drink. But too late. We had already been left in no doubt as to how insignificant we were. Given how little you care about the experience of your diners, and that the food is mediocre, we will not be back. The next night we went to Giorgios. The experience could not have been more different. We will return there and recommend it to people
Great food, drink and service. Highly recommended all round!
Had a great evening here , good location, food was yummy and the staff were super friendly. I’ll be visiting again next time I’m in Margate
The food was amazing - at first we were disappointed at being told there was only enough tagliatelle left for vegetarians as we'd seen it on the menu earlier in the day. But the food we did order was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed the visit regardless.
Great food lovely location.
Amazing service, amazing food, amazing atmosphere
Great view and surroundings but didn't really enjoy the atmosphere. We felt like it was trying a bit too hard and wasn't really in keeping with Margate

Such a lovely place and super friendly waiting staff. But the food is well below average and not worth the money. Caesar salad was £14 (no chicken) and just layers of lettuce leaves with very salty acidic dressing. Sent it back and had it changed for pasta with tomato and burrata sauce - the pasta was swimming in the overly oily sauce. Green beans served with the steak were too mustardy to eat. And no discount or money off. Seriously disappointing. Perfect for a pre dinner drink with the sunset and view but eat somewhere else.
Food perfectly fine, but perhaps a little overpriced... however, the view more than makes up for that, and the servers were absolutely excellent. Friendly, approachable, and considering the amount of times they had to go up and down stairs on a very hot evening, enthusiastic. A couple of slip ups (forgetting to bring cutlery, so the food got a bit cold whilst waiting for it), but otherwise great.
Not cheap but good tasty food & great staff on our 2nd visit - great welcome from a dark haired hostess in a hat - 1st visit was less impressed with the rather snappy ‘kitchen is closed’ as we arrived bang on 9pm: no leverage at all! Still great views & felt very London on sea - if you think that’s a good thing!
The food & service was outstanding!
The food was all very salty and the Caesar salad very overpriced, but the atmosphere and drinks were brilliant.
