About Bar Esteban
Growing up under the shadow of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Pablo had a passion for cooking from a very young age. After attending the Joan Ramon Benapres culinary school in Sitges he moved to London to broaden his experience.
His first role in London was Chef de Partie at Barrafina, where he rotated quickly through all of the stations from pastry to plancha. After a year or so, it was time for a new challenge, which was found at Moro, in Clerkenwell.
When Moro opened Morito, Pablo was at the helm and focused his attention on tapas, mainly from the Andalucian region of Spain.
Pablo joined bar esteban in February 2013 as Head Chef and we are delighted to have him on board.
“I love fresh seafood especially if you have caught it yourself, my favorites are cuttlefish, clams and crab. We’ll have lots of great seafood on the menu as well as other daily specials, mainly from the regions of Catalunya, Pais Vasco and Andalucia. Cooking is my love, I don’t think I could ever be without it – the only other thing that comes close is FC Barcelona!”
So, whether you’re in the mood for razor clams, slow braised ox-tail, or simply a great tortilla bocadillo, we hope you stop by soon.
One of our favourites, it is always of a very high standard.
Amazing evening, great service, thanks
Really loved the decor and atmosphere and we were well looked after by the staff who gave good recommendations (we were very indecisive). Winning dishes included the deep fried squid and the oxtail. We also adored the wine and the sherry we had with dessert (another great recommendation). The pork was disappointing and lacking in flavour and we wouldn’t have said it was worth the money. The same goes for the orange and chocolate parfait dessert. But would definitely visit again to try everything we couldn’t fit in this time!
I always have excellent meals at Bar Esteban - food is so delicious and creative with such a great vibe. We're very lucky to have such a fantastic place in Crouch End
Loavely service and delicious food and drinks. THe seating is a little tight at the back where we were, especially near the kitchen door, which impacted the atmosphere a little. I might try to creat a little more space.
Our favourite place in crouch end!! Love it here!
Revisited on the anniversary of my girlfriend and my anniversary. Service and food were as.good as we remembered. We'll recommended
It will only allow me to give you 4 stars for atmosphere, but I would like to give you five. I love your restaurant, amazing food, great choice of wine and really lovely service. I live locally and it’s my favourite restaurant in the area.
The food and service is always excellent. The environment isn’t cramped and the prices are good.
I booked the table for my son's 25th birthday, and sadly was unable to come myself due to ill health. But the unanimous verdict from my 3 kids, who are notoriously hard to to please was fantastic food, great atmosphere, great service ( they changed the booking last minute with no hassle) . As they were brought up 20 minutes from San Sebastian and practically weaned on tapas that's impressive. My sons exact words were " the dogs bollocks' but you might not want to print that.... Can't wait to join them next time!
Bar Esteban is my favourite places to eat and drink at in Crouch End. The food is always great, the waiters and waitresses are always really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is great. I often pop in for a drink and tapa at the bar, or sit down for a full blown meal. It is never a disappointment. Thanks everyone at Bar Esteban!
Had a brilliant time at Bar Esteban. The service was excellent (friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, efficient), the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. Can't wait to go back, especially for the courgette flower stuffed with goat's cheese!
The 12.5 on meal is not fair and the selection was very average
Superb valentines day meal. The venison special was the cherry on a delicious cake. Thank you for a wonderful evening
We love going to Bar Esteban and decided to go for Valentine's Day. I was particularly appreciate of the fact that the restaurant did not impose a forced set menu, and that apart from a sprinkling of rose petals (which was a nice touch), they stuck to what they are good at, which is serving excellent tapas in a fantastic environment.
Fantastic food and great service
Wonderful as usual. Tuna to DIE for. Amazing service. We will continue to come back and enjoy
We love Bar Esteban - it is our favourite place in Crouch End!
All excellent. Great food and service. Love the atmosphere
Great sunday evening dinner at Bar Esteban. Excellent cocktails and tapas.
We've been here many times and it's never let us down. A thoroughly enjoyable evening with excellent food and service.
Lovely as always!
Absolutely delicious food!
Brilliant wine and sherry.
