About Bar-A-Thym Restaurant by Francois Mermilliod
"Bar-A-Thym", a play on words, was born out of a desire to express myself in a manner that is free and fun, yet recognizing the critical balance of our fragile ecosystem by adopting sustainable and ethical food procurement practices.
In French, Baratin means sweet talk/bullshit, a trait undeniably me and to all who know me!
In Singapore's fast-pacing dining scene, we spare no effort attending to the smallest of details; from artisan-quality baked goods, supplied by Heritage Bread, to sourcing for MSC and Friend of the Sea certified seafood. Together with my dedicated team and like-minded suppliers, we endeavour to deliver produce at their peak growing season straight from nature to your table.

Strawberry pavlova was overpoweringly sweet. Generally food was lovely and not at all pretentious, striking a nice balance of fine and quaint.
Had a very enjoyable night. Food was amazing, infusion between old and new which was refreshing. Will definitely be back.
Another fabulous meal. The crab meat and apple were perfectly, the main was beautiful and the rum in the baba was typically fun and playful. Service was impeccable. The value for money on the lunch menu is insane.
Service was great and responsive. Due to the open doors of the restaurant (although it had air con), it felt pretty warm inside. I sat under the air con, but both my dining companion and I both felt drops of water on us at several points in time throughout the dinner – we informed the restaurant regardless, not to kick up a fuss, just to inform them. Food was decent, but price point was a tad high imo, not sure if I'll return.
Sommelier advised us to try a french red instead of a barossa Shiraz, saying it was similar but better. It was not similar at all. Clearly, the sommelier was trying to dispose of this wine from his cellar. Should not have misadvised us that way. Food was ok, not stunning. Service was ok, but waiter couldn’t remember either the specials or our orders. For almost $500 for 2 people, I expect a lot better.
The appetisers were all excellent and the mains we shared were also well cooked. The only criticism if I have to find something is the dessert menu is somewhat limited and not as innovative. However, that wouldn’t stop us from returning. Service is excellent. Restaurant is a little noisy but it has a relaxed vibe.
Awesome service, food quality, equally as good. Very enjoyable. Had lunch set menu actually worked out great value for three course. Food was cooked to perfection. Service was just right.

Definitively my go to place to bring my good friends, colleagues and business relations to have a great experience Food is excellent with creativity and high quality ingredient. Always a few not in the menu options depending on what is available Wine list is interesting and offer good variety: I highly recommend following the recommendation of the sommelier and the chef Staff is like chef Francois, friendly, attentive, warm and knowledgeable Last but not least, you have to try the dessert! Thanks chef Francois and team!

Excellent food, especially fish which is always more dufficult to cook properly than meat. The desserts are also amazing, so keep some space for them!and the tuna ceviche starter is an absolute myst, much better thanin most Peruvian restaurants in Singapore. An absolute must in the city!
Cozy atmosphere, friendly waiters and enjoyable omakase menu. Even the chef came by to say hello! The cocktail list is a little limited. But overall, my hubby and I had a great time. Will be back!

This is not my first time at Bar a Thym and the team is as good as ever! I will definitely go back!!!
Fantastic dinner, the tuna ceviche is brilliant (better than in most Peruvian restaurants in Singapore), the fish we took for the main dish was amazingly fresh and cooked to perfection (i.e. not overcooked, as is sadly the case in most restaurants), the desserts are created on the spot and on demand by the amazing pastry chef and the service was simply perfect. And even if you do not feel like trying for a full dessert, try a single chocolate praline! We will definitely make it one of our regular places!
