About Bank House Wine Bar and Kitchen
We have taken over what used to be a NatWest bank - a Victorian brownstone on the Chislehurst High Street. We have completely remodelled the building, while still retaining its Victorian features.
The main wine bar itself will be across two floors - the ground floor going for a casual approach, with upstairs having a little more of a cocktail bar vibe and will have an open fireplace (handy this winter). Many of the wines will be served up in a wine keg system - which is going to allow them to serve a range of organic wines by tap. And there will be craft beer and cocktails, of course.
As for the food, it'll be European small plates with a daily changing seasonal menu - with the emphasis that this is a wine bar, but also a restaurant.
Gorgeous decor, very classy and tasteful. Nice greeting at the door. We sat upstairs where it was a bit cold but we mentioned it and the staff immediately fixed. Food was lovely but with that type of menu wouldn’t come if I wanted to go out for a meal. Would prefer a few main course options. Scallop was lovely but £7 for one was a bit expensive.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Perfect venue for a date night or a catch up with friends. We will be back very soon!
Good atmosphere for a drink. Portions small for the price & compared to London. Service a little slow.
very enjoyable evening
Finally a vibrant restaurant in the heart of Chislehurst! What a great atmosphere on a Friday night. Great hospitality, and, we would book again.
We booked for breakfast as the website says breakfast from 9am. When we got there it was just a few continental items on the bar and there is no breakfast menu to order items. I have no issue if this is the offering, but I think it should be made clear on the website that they don't serve cooked items which I'd have expected in a restaurant. It was more the type of breakfast you'd find in a cafe.
Some dishes were slightly too salty, especially the iron steak.
Excellent wine bar, great atmosphere and food - just what Chislehurst needed
Lovely atmosphere & good food. Great concept, we will be back soon.
