About Banchory Lodge Hotel
You will find dishes ranging from the classic to the contemporary. In our newly refurbished restaurant we offer relaxed dining in a stunning setting overlooking the River Dee. Dishes include sharing platters and a chargrill selection with steaks as a speciality. Where possible, it is all made from the best locally sourced Scottish produce.
Almost unbelievable, I’ve visited Banchory Lodge so many times and it has never once disappointed!
We have visited banchory lodge many times as a couple and a family. However, putting aside the friendly personal service we always get from the staff, we found the cost of the meal to be very over priced. Three glasses of wine were over £35 which is an extortionate amount when the bottles themselves are only slightly more than a glass. The food was ok, nothing amazing. The fact that our meal including a tip came in at over £40 per head I find this far too expensive. Although it was a nice evening, I’m not sure I will be rushing back anytime soon.
Nice calming atmosphere great for afternoon tea with the family. My gran loved it with the scenery and the service
While I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Banchory Lodge Hotel to anyone this is rather heavily influenced by location. I’ve never had a bad experience but wasn’t overly impressed with my last trip for afternoon tea so wouldn’t recommend it for that. We were greeted, seated and served in a prompt and polite manner however that’s kind of where the service stopped other than delivering our food. My brother had to order another drink for himself up at the bar and we waited a long time for someone to pay us attention in order to ask for the bill even though there seemed to be surplus staff milling around. £19.95 is rather inflated for what we received, maybe add in a prosecco or beer at that price I’d consider it fair. The quality of the food and drinks were very good but the sweet to savoury ratio for afternoon tea was far too heavily tipped on the side of sweet.
Lovely setting, friendly staff, good food. What more could you want?
An excellent meal and service, thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
Lovely place, cannot fault it, will be back again
would’ve liked a full scone and not a tiny small half!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will be back again
Loved our visit with the family. Such a child and pet friendly hotel. Look forward to visiting again.
First visit here for lunch on a rainy day. It was a cosy and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful setting. The food and service were just spot on. Servings were just spot on too - you get the choice between small and larger plates. The food seemed very fresh and homemade and locally sourced. Lovely lunch. Will be back again
Lovely meal and excellent service. We were given a table by the window with a lovely view of the Dee. Excellent calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Have been to Banchory Lodge twice now, well worth the drive out of the city, mum who was visiting from abroad loved it. Lovely food and setting
We had a lovely meal with friends in a lively, relaxing atmosphere. Everyone was really impressed with the new menu (especially the prawn and calamari starter), all the food was delicious. A fantastic meal in an equally beautiful setting.
Lovely afternoon tea in a beautiful setting
We are never disappointed when we dine here and the extra bonus is we can take our dog in too! Location amazing and the staff are super friendly!
Excellent service and tasty food
We had a wonderful lunch for our son's Christening. The staff were very attentive and the service was impeccable.
Great service, good food and fantastic location.
Great food and great services as always. We’ll be back soon.
Absolutely charming and excellent service from the head waiter (sorry I forget his name).
This was our first visit. Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. The public rooms and indeed our bedroom exuded quality and class. All personnel were pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious at dinner and breakfast. Great value for money too. A memorable experience. We will be back.
On our visit we had my brother who has special needs. From the moment we walked in the door and throughout our meal staff were alerted and went out of their way to give us a quiet table and cope extremely well. The soup and bruschetta was well received. The steaks were very good but we were disappointed with the standard of the fries. We felt the meal was very overpriced and our ratings reflect that.
Despite my four year old having a meltdown because it was the wrong type of chips (?!?), the staff were fantastic, dealing with a spilled drink, a tantrum and a need for a clean spoon without hesitation. Thanks for the meal, it was great.
Superb service, the head waiter was amazing, I didn't catch his name but he ran the show and the others were spot on also Will be back very soon
