Bambalan offers something for everyone. Fresh, healthy and exciting all day dining, an expertly crafted drinks menu, exceptional coffee & tea and unrivaled views over the city centre from our rooftop terrace.
Loved the atmosphere and the chance to play the games such as table tennis. Great for groups.
We hired the venue for our work Summer party and it was fantastic! All the staff were amazing, food was delicious, not a bad word to say, just wish you could have sorted the weather for us too! We'll definitely be back
As always, the food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful! Cheers!
Food was delicious and service was very quick!
Great food and a cool place to be. Lovely terrace for the evening too
Love this venue but service is always a bit hit and miss
Really great evening, food and drink just what we were after.
I booked for 12 people to eat online but realised that my booking came through on confirmation email as for 2 so I called the restaurant in the morning to confirm that I was booking 12 guests and was told that it would be fine. However when we arrived at Bambalan it was closed!! As you can expect there were 12 hungry and unhappy customers. I received no communication from Bambalan to let me know that they were closed so all in all a dismal experience
Not a massive fan of Bambalan, service was awful last time I went and the food is ok
Fantastic pre theatre meal with kids. They loved playing table football whilst waiting for the meal and we loved the 20% off. This and the close proximity to the hippodrome was our main deciding factors to eat here. Great service, fab food and jovial atmosphere. Will def visit again. Would consider visiting without kids. Eager to sample the cocktails, whilst listening to the live dj. A great place in the perfect location. Will recommend!
Industrial style decor, relaxed atmosphere with good quality 'street' style food, great location for Colston Hall & Hippodrome
We had a very nice evening at Bambalan, 50 people attended our event their on Tuesday evening this week and everyone enjoyed themselves. Thanks
Had a fantastic day, looking forward to the next bank holiday
Interesting menu that you wouldn’t find in most restaurants. Would have liked an alternative to hummus in some of the babs as I’m allergic to chick peas so found it quite restricting. However the food we had was delicious (I went for chicken burger). Modern food and a very good atmosphere.
Food really fantastic but on this occasssiob service was very poor. We had to ask twice to find a waiter to take a drinks order and we were waiting 30 minutes before we found someone. Although our booking was for lunchtime we were only given a breakfast menu and had to ask for a lunchtime one. And despite waiting a long time for service we were then told that we need to vacate the table an hour after our booking started because of a private event.
Terrible experience. I'd pre-booked far in advance. I offered to pre-order but was told I didn't need to. No one ever answered the phone so I had to email all updates. We were 11 people. It took about 40 minutes to get coffee/tea etc for which we were provided 4 spoons (5-10 min after first coffees), no sugar - was so late coffee was cold. Our order wasn't taken until after drinks started to arrive, and when we asked if we could order as we could see how long this was going to take were told that it would hold our drinks up. Even though you'd had 40 minutes to pour hot water. To be clear there were 3 tables full when we arrived and all but 1 had their food already, so this was not due to being busy, this was poor service and organisation. Then food took another 40min or so, we could see food on the pass - waiters and waitresses went to look at it multiple times, but did not deliver it, we even asked if it was ours and were told 'i hope so', but not delivered it. It sat there for 10 minutes and therefore was cold, not tepid, but cold by the time we had it - given it's eggs that's dangerous as well as disgusting. Most orders were wrong, but all were cold. There was simply no need for this as all it would have taken is to deliver it when it was put up, but the waiters could not work out what was what and stared at it like it was a puzzle to solve. Given we had no confidence in the next batch even if we decided to wait another 45min, we had to leave - so we wasted 1.5 hrs and got no food, some guests had to go home without due to commitments, the rest of us found an alternative and were finally fed considerably later than planned. It was a poor end to our hen do. We understand things go wrong, but so many poor excuses (that were not valid) were given when we'd prefer you just owned it and said you'd messed up. I wouldn't therefore come back ever again. food looked like it could have been good, if it was hot and delivered in a reasonable time frame.
The dirty beans were by far the best breakfast choice i have made in a very long time.
The lunch time offer was great especially for the big party we had
Everyone enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was great, the music wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear yourself think. We will come again. Only small comment - we found it difficult to attract the attention of the wait staff when we had a couple of people turn up late who needed to order, and then when we wanted to pay. This may well be part of the relaxed atmosphere - the wait staff leave you alone rather than bother you to try to make you spend more money.
Good time was had by all. Food was great, staff was very helpful. Wasn't to keen on the cocktails.
Excellent venue. Love the upbeat décor and great location.
Venue is wonderful, I thought it was really well styled and comfortable, a really vibrant place. The food was fab (pop-up night) and the regular menu looks really enticing also so I'll be back for that, though it did take a while to come out but I'd put this more down to the type of evening it was. (We were told to arrive for 6 but good wasn't served till 7.10 so it seemed like a bit of a wait.) Only real down side was staff were very eager to serve more drinks, it felt like they were coming by every minute, I appreciate you want to upsell but it was a bit too much in my opinion especially as I was driving and there are only so many soft drinks I can handle even thought the Elderflower Presse was very moorish, def one of the best I've had!
Amazing food and atmosphere
Absolutely fantastic evening. Dean served superb food and fun was had by all! Would recommend this joint, good food, chilled vibe #goodtimes!
I attended the pop up restaurant by Dean Edwards and Briony May, a fantastic evening, amazing food and great atmosphere.
