About Balloo House Pub
Walking into Balloo House, you’ll immediately be struck by its atmosphere of ease, comfort and conviviality, due in part to good company, sturdy stone walls and time–worn flagstones. If the weather is inclement, with a sharp wind blowing off nearby Strangford Lough, you can warm your essentials on the old range, a remnant of Balloo’s farming days. Other parts can be warmed by the fine selection of spirits, wines and beers on offer at this colourful watering hole. And if you didn’t have an appetite beforehand, a perusal of the sumptuous bistro menu is sure to induce one.
Excellent food and service.
Good pub food just a bit overpriced 😮
Food and service were excellent.
Food was delicious, portion sizes fantastic and atmosphere was so relaxed!!
We had not been to Balloo House for a couple of years as a family but this was a good reminder of what we had been missing. The food was great, service was attentive and, once the tables around us filled up, there was a warm atmosphere. Balloo House is a great restaurant for a night out and is highly recommended.
Lovely meal and service was excellent.
Nice food, but pricey for pub food
Another good meal at Baloo which is always consistent and good service Thank you
Lovely meal , great service and a good atmosphere. Our waiters were particularly pleasant and knowledgeable. The tapenade is always a must have here, luckily it can be bought from The Poachers Pantry at their sister restaurant, The Poachers Pocket. I may buy it from there a bit ( a lot!!)
Great atmosphere and good food but overpriced compared to similar places.
Excellent as always
Excellent New Year's Eve dinner. Thank you
Good choice of dishes all well cooked and presented, friendly and reasonably efficient service. Did NOT think that plastic plates (used for 3 out of 4 starters and one out of our 4 desserts) are appropriate for a restaurant of that calibre and prices of £40 + per head!
We had the most amazing day at Balloo on Boxing Day. From the original booking to the attention we received on the day from Vanessa and her team was exceptional. We had a special occasion to celebrate and Vanessa made sure the day was one to remember. Thanks so much to everyone at Balloo House
Such a beautiful meal, fabulous atmosphere and great service! Will be booking for next year xx Thanks guys! Happy New Year!
The whole experience was first class from the moment we walked through the door. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Food was fantastic and value for money. Highly recommend.
Please bring back the Irish music on Boxing Day.
Six of us had a fabulous meal, the restaurant was buzzing, brilliant ambiance, the food was served hot and considering that the restaurant was extremely busy, the wait wasn’t too long for our orders.
Food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Service was really lacking to be honest. We eat out alot and service is something which we all recognise is the thing that makes the difference. It just lacked any warmth. End of a busy day perhaps but won't rush back
Yummy meal for a reasonable price (approx £30 for 3 courses). Beautiful country pub setting with great service. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic Christmas lunch, great atmosphere as always with excellent service both in the bar and restaurant. Thanks Balloo house.
We had a great evening. High on atmosphere, and great food. Lovely staff.
Had a very enjoyable meal. Good food, good service
Only thing I would say is that my Guinness wasn't the best, perhaps not enough getting poured.
