About The Grandtully Hotel
The kitchen is at the heart of Ballintaggart.Good food is prepared with classical skill and thought, championing local, artisan producers and Scottish flavours. Where possible, ingredients are sourced from the kitchen garden and foraged from surrounding hedgerows, fields and woodlands. Dishes and menus reflect the seasons and showcase natural, simple ingredients at their finest
Great place to go if you are a foodie! Lovely and peaceful walks nearby
Service Staff were excellent.Small plates nice but £8for three asparagus spears ?considering there were four adults .Having a 4 year old with us It was possibly up to us to request her meal tobe served with our starters. When we requested it tobe served as quickly as possible,it was served with ours and over cooked Hence she wouldn’t eat it Neither would any of the adults .Our mains were excellent but monkfish And Venison were very small portions A really nice designed bar and restaurant with a good atmosphere.Prices we thought were high end This is not our first visit,Service has improved as we had to wait 45 mins in the bar for food on the 14th April .
Menu choice was interesting and varied - particularly liked the small bites selection to get a taste of a variety of different things. The Scottish charcuterie was a particular favourite
You'll definitely want to return to The Grandtully, they have thought of everything. From arrival to (a reluctant) departure, our stay was just perfect. Thank you.
Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. An excellent stay in beautiful surroundings with fantastic food as well.
Absolutely amazing! Service so great, from start to finish. Beautiful outdoor space and such delicious food. Thank you!!x
Great staff, food and interior! We will be back :)
Great people and atmosphere. Plenty of ambition. But fish (turbot) was grossly over cooked. Not busy when we were there so this shows the kitchen needs a much more experienced and capable hand at all times. The main man was not cooking that evening.
Staff were very attentive, explaining all the range of food on offer.
Fabulous - splendid service and quality all round- thoroughly enjoy the cookschool and our stay at the hotel. We will be back and recommend to friends and fammly
I really enjoy my dining experiences at the hotel and consider it one of my favourite eating places.
Once again a first rate evening all round
We all loved it but the website is very confusing.
Love the overall dining experience here. Have eaten with you now on 3 occasions and always been first class. Hope to be back again soon.
Excellent food - as always!
Just a fantastic place and definitely on my favourites list.
Staff were lovely. Food was superb. Lemon meringue pie was best ever! Loved the home made oatcakes. Loved that we could order lots of things to share. Advice about wine was excellent! Only thing that was disappointing was that raspberry sorbet was not available despite being on the menu and we were dining at 6pm. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful stay, staff are excellent, attentive, caring and friendly, all the staff seem very happy. The whole place is welcoming, the decor is tasteful and understated. Food was excellent, the coffee and cake on arrival was very welcome.
We have been to the hotel for lunch before and been very satisfied. This time the service was poor, we waited 35 minutes for our meal, diners that arrived after us,ordered, ate before our food turned up. My meal was just warm, my partners meal was fine. So disappointing!
Yet again Ballintaggart did not disappoint! Having experienced their private catering on 2 occasions I was curious to see how this would translate into a restaurant setting. We were all blown away by the quality of the food and service and the value for money. Maia was our server and she was EXCELLENT! Knowledgeable, friendly, professional and attentive, what a joy to receive such wonderful service. I can't wait to find another excuse to dine here!
I cannot fault Ballintaggart. The Hospitality, food and wine was beyond my expectations. The investment in finding and supporting local produce suppliers of an exceptionally high standard, is clearly evident! Jess's unique twists with her dishes are outstanding. Mhari's, front of house skills are second to none; nothing is too much trouble and her knowledge of wine is absolutely fantastic! Chris is made a point of saying hi and had lots of advice for walks around the area which was lovely. Everyone is so personable and Rachel's taste in design and decor is superb!! Well done to all! What a great team!! We will definitely be back! Thank you!!
Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Food delivery was a bit slow, but that was clearly due to the kitchen, not the front of house staff who were very apologetic. Menu very eclectic and interesting. Really enjoyed our lunch and will come back.
We stayed at the Grandtully hotel with dinner and breakfast , followed by the bread making course at Balintaggart Farm. This whole experience was faultless - both venues have the highest quality of decoration, service and exceptional food . There is a young team who clearly love their jobs and we would definitely return again , hopefully for another cookery course. So many finishing touches that made the stay memorable -would 100% recommend it to others .
Excellent restaurant using the best of Scottish produce.
We had a wonderful weekend staying at Grandtully. Warm welcome and everything runs smoothly. Great food and an impressive wine list kept us happy. We loved sitting by the fire as the snow came down. Sunday at the cook school was just brilliant too. Thanks so much. We will be back.
