We felt we were left in the room and the service wasn’t good . We tried to order a drink and it was really difficult. It was just a bit disappointing
We had a lovely time. The staff were attentive but not too attentive - a fine skill to have.
Quite pleasant surroundings. Service wonderful hut a little slow. The food was very good and beautifully presented
We really enjoyed our first visit to Bailbrook House and we will definitely come again and possibly try a lunch or dinner next time. My Wife is dairy free and the alternatives provided were excellent. Thank you
I booked online for champagne afternoon tea for 11 people but booked it in 2 as the website only allows you to book up to 8 people. I called them up and they were very flexible. On the day we had our own room set up ready for afternoon tea and our waitress Ewa was very helpful and dealt with all the allergy and dietary needs of some of the guests. Very pleased with the experience! We all had a wonderful time so thank you!
I couldn't eat 3 of the cakes as the scone was rock hard, the carrot cake topping was pure cream cheese with no sweetness and the berry choux tasted like they had added cheese to the pastry and you couldnt taste the berries.. The Manager was very kind though in not charging us but it definitely put me off going again. We were left for quite a long time on our own when we wanted to see someone about getting more tea but there was no one around. It was very empty.
We had a fantastic afternoon tea in a great hotel.
Lovely afternoon tea, great service within a fabulous setting.
Service was good, food served promptly and hot. There were some staff training but it still went smoothly.
All good but needed to ask for more than one cup of tea.
Exquisite afternoon tea. This beautifully renovated Hotel is stunning. Staff are efficient and welcoming. Food excellent.
Some of the best food we have eaten in outstanding surroundings the staff and chef are a credit to the hotel thanks for a perfect meal.
We had a lovely afternoon, the food was delicious, the service was amazing! Warwick especially was a wonderful host who brightened our afternoon!
Would have liked to have been seated at a table rather than a lower, coffee type table, and seeing as the restaurant area was practically empty the conservatory would have been a nicer experience, but on the whole the service was very good and the food excellent. Many thanks!
Overall very disappointing. Firstly we had to wait 40 minutes for a pre-booked afternoon tea. Having informed the hotel earlier of the special dietary needs the sandwiches provided were an insult:: roast courgette, lettuce and tomato, gherkin with lettuce and ham where the butter was thicker than the ham showed a real lack of thought and care. Then having complained that the scones were all plain (there should have been 2 fruit and 2 plain) we were then given 2 fruit scones that had only 5 pieces of fruit between them! The offer of a glass of champagne as some apology for a very unsatisfactory experience was welcome but did not make up for what should have been an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon.
The food was delicious, i recommendable watercress soup, thick and tasty. Staff attentive without intruding.
It was an absolutely fantastic meal
Absolutely lovely. Fantastic idea to have a savoury afternoon tea as well as a traditional afternoon tea - we had one of each! Both were delicious and a really good amount of food.
A wonderful anniversary meal. The staff were lovely and helped make the evening special. Will definitely return.
A very disappointing experience on 16th April. Having reserved a table and arrived at 7.00 pm, initially service was ok if a bit slow given our two starters were cold and probably already prepared. Having ordered our main courses we waited an absolute age. By 8.15 pm we had still not received our mains. Some problems in the kitchen it would seem and a complimentary sorbet offered. When we did receive them my portion of cod was so small (about the size of a matchbox) which given the cost involved was wholly inadequate. My wife’s vegetables were too hard to eat and the carrots were roughly chopped. Complaints were acknowledged with apologies except apparently I had the normal size of cod portion!. Complimentary drinks were provided during our very long wait and on receipt of our bill, no drinks were charged for. Overall, for a special occasion a great disappointment and whilst problems were acknowledged, this should not happen.
From start to finish an outstanding evening. From being met with a very warm welcome to a lovely meal and service. The meal was relaxed and we weren’t rushed at all. The food delivered on flavour and presentation. The chef has a beautiful pallet for bringing different flavours and concepts together. Highly recommend and will return on my next visit to Bath.
Absolutely loved the afternoon tea and the staff were amazing
Lovely afternoon. Great food and drink in a beautiful setting.
