Wonderful Sunday lunch - service exemplary - nothing too much trouble. Compliments to the chef. The starters were flavoursome and colourful and included Salmon and beetroot and horseradish and pea soup with garnishes. Followed by beef with all the trimmings and two of our party had chicken. Presentation was a feast for your eyes! We finished with creme brûlée. We ate out on the terrace overlooking the rolling hills. It was wonderful - thank you to all concerned. On arrival we were greeted and had temperature checks and all covid measures were in place.
Beautiful setting and catered fantastically well with out gluten and lactose intolerances. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely visit again.
felt very safe. Well done.
Excellent service, friendly and efficient. From the booking process to the day, everything was made easy. Delicious afternoon tea and great view! Thankyou.
Not sure how this ever got 2 rosettes, maybe it was chefs night off ? food was certainly not of fine dining level, more Beef-eater fare. The menu is nothing like the one posted online, so why not change the one online to reflect this instead of disappointing every diner when they arrive? The setting is nice and the staff seemed friendly enough however the steak was too tough to eat and I eventually gave up on it. Then rather than taking it off the bill they comp`d two deserts instead which didn't add up to anything close to the cost of the steak. Overall a very disappointing experience for what could have been a lovely meal, wouldn't recommend or be returning.
A fantastic meal and great service. Thanks to the team for a lovely evening
Sunday lunch was very nice. It lost a star as the menu stated Yorkshire pudding which was not included
Had a lovely cream tea for my 60th fab staff, very attentive
Disappointing overall. The room we were in was soulless. Sandwiches were not fresh, the bread had ever so slightly started to harden. The scones and cakes were nice. No one came to offer more tea.
Lovely setting either inside or outside on the terrace. Great meal well cooked and beautifully presented.
We had a lovely meal at Cloisters restaurant which felt very Covid safe. The tables had generous spacing. The staff were very friendly and were wearing masks.
Excellent service and beautifully presented food. However, atmosphere distinctly lacking and price of wine was high. We had the house white wine which was pretty poor and expensive for what it was (£26). However, the house red, which apparently comes from the same grower, was much better but still expensive. Difficult to objectively review food as the restaurant is operating under very difficult circumstances due to coronavirus but it is coping admirably. Nice touch that the general manager of the hotel took time to visit each table. Well done but improve the house white please!
This is our second time for afternoon tea, the food is on the top of my list of favourites, and we enjoy the surroundings, staff and settings very much.
The setting, location, venue and food cannot be faulted. I had emailed ahead to advise of our Dietary requirements And the occasion of my friends birthday. On arrival We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who showed is to your table. Our orders were taken promptly however That’s were the 1st class service which I had expected ended. I understand that afternoon tea is a slower And more relaxed service As I have experienced many times before at various establishments - however we were left waiting 1hour15 minutes for the sandwiches to be brought to our table. It wasn’t until we had finished the sandwiches that we realised we had no cutlery (so approximately 10/15 minutes as you do ninth need knives and forks to eat finger sandwiches) I had to make the receptionist aware that we had nothing on the table as there were no waiting staff to be seen. Once we had finished our afternoon tea we expected someone to clear away the empty plates, top up hot water ect this didn’t happen. I had to go and ask the receptionist twice for someone to clear away our plates, bring water (for my friend who is 6 months pregnant) and ask for the bill. I explained this to the waitress who eventually cleared our table Regarding my disappointment on the service front - who then told me that she is on her own which i totally understand and would have been more sympathetic had she been busy, or had there been other diners - the car park was empty and we had the room to ourselves, so the answering back was not received well. The service charge was removed and half of the bill was taken off which were both greatly appreciated however this has unfortunately left a bit of a sour taste.
Wonderful experience - for a socially distanced family reunion. Fabulous afternoon tea. Beautifully presented - we sat on the terrace with a spectacular view. Very attentive and professional staff. Very safe all government missives adhered to. Thank you sincerely - compliments to the chef. All the best to the ex RAF chap - we enjoyed talking to you.
Very attentive professional service from reception and waiting staff. Thank you for making us feel so safe in the current pandemic.
lovely food as always
Really lovely dining experience with very nice food. Well-managed with regard to Covid 19 requirements. The Bar and Restaurant Manager and the Concierge couldn't have been nicer.
Lovely hotel and friendly, helpful staff. Dinner and afternoon tea were delicious. A wonderful stay. Excellent value for money as was based on one of their special deals. Atmosphere marked down as due to COVID there were very few people staying at the hotel, but not the hotel's fault!
We got married 2 years ago in this same hotel and wanted to go back to revive the lovely memories of that day. The afternoon tea we enjoyed this time, sitting in the lovely garden served by Valentino was, again, a fantastic experience. Bailbrook House Hotel is not only a beautiful house with a fantastic atmosphere, it’s also a place where the staff makes you feel at home.
always fantastic service food and accommodation we had my daughters wedding there last year and stayed again later in the year for my wife's 60th cant recommend it enough the staff are first class nothing is to much trouble hope to return soon and the afternoon Tea was fab thanks to everyone
For anyone concerned about eating out in these strange times, this is the place to go. All social distancing is in place and plenty of hand sanitising stations throughout. Food was lovely and hot and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done
As part of our celebration for our Golden Wedding Anniversary we had afternoon tea at Bailbrook House on July 19th 2020 . It was perfect . Nice selection of sandwiches , scones and cakes superbly served . Constant attention when needed without being intrusive , truly professional . Thank you . We'll be back !!
We were the only people in the resteraunt. The staff were extremely attentive. The environment was safe with all neccessary proceedures in place to guard against covid19. Food was superb as was the service by Valentin.
Really lovely 3 course Sunday lunch sat on the terrace outside in the sun. Attentive service, lovely food and beautiful setting. We will be back.
