About Bailbrook House Hotel
Set in the original basement of Bailbrook Mansion House, the 2 AA Rosette restaurant design takes full advantage of this historic building’s stunning architectural features.
Drinks may be enjoyed before and after dinner in one of the stylish lounges on the ground floor of Bailbrook Mansion House. These lounges benefit from unparalleled views over the Avon Valley and the City of Bath. Stay and be captivated.
The Royal lounges are located in the Mansion House and are open to guests and non-residents alike. All offer a degree of sumptuousness, making a great location for elevenses, afternoon tea or a pre-dinner drinks, while floor-to-ceiling windows contribute to the light and spacious feel.
Afternoon Tea is served daily 13.30 - 17.00
Our party had a lovely evening in the restaurant. We were very impressed with the food and the high level of service. Perhaps a few slightly cheaper wines could be added to the list. Other than that a delightful experience.
We have both dined in the evening and taken champagne afternoon tea. Both occasions were simply fabulous. The service was both attentive and considered, giving us time and space to enjoy our meal and allowing us to take things at our own pace. The food was gorgeous and afternoon tea an absolute delight. Ewa, who looked after us on both occasions was everything a hostess should be: polite, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our evening dinner in the Loggia was quite simply one of the best meals we have ever had. Afternoon tea in the Lounge was stunning with superb views and a overlooked by General Wolfe and Lord Nelson! These were special occasions made all the more special by the ambience and pleasure of enjoying them at Bailbrook House.
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and wine selection.
very nice afternoon tea and excellent service
A delightful, unhurried afternoon tea in the Princess Elizabeth Lounge where we had the undivided attention of our waitress. A tour of the historic building by Warwick added to the occasion.
It was a shame that some of the sandwiches were rather stale, as it was stated they had been prepared in the morning. I feel it would be better if they were prepared at a time more in line with the reservation time
We visited for Bailbrook House Hotel with our sons for their first experience of afternoon tea! We were pleased that there was a child's afternoon tea tailored to a child's tastes, and the service from Ewa was excellent. The only thing that I would change is that the bill came with a 10% service charge automatically added on - while it was explained that this could be removed upon request, you can appreciate that this kind of 'opt-out' policy makes for an awkward situation for the guest. While I don't begrudge paying a service charge where it is deserved (and as I said, Ewa was great), I don't like the presumption that the guest will pay it rather than object.
Went for a birthday party tea and enjoyed it very much. Lovely variety of sandwiches and pastries, a little pricey but why not indulge yourself occasionally?
We enjoyed our stay which was restful and comfortable. Would come again.
The hotel is wonderful, beautiful setting and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was very tasty and was made even better with the glorious selection of dairy free cakes which made my afternoon. The Cloisters restaurant is expensive but the food was well worth it as a treat. Highly recommended.
Lovely experience and food. Very helpful and friendly staff
We had a very enjoyable afternoon tea
Staff accommodating with dietary requirements, but service was dreadfully slow. Wine list was extensive, however the Gin list very poor. Food very overpriced.
Great afternoon tea, attentive friendly staff, would certainly recommend and return again.
Had to wait nearly 2 hours for food with no communication about delay. Food was cold when it arrived and substituted vegetables without telling us, also cold. Food was nicely presented though, would have been nice if hot but too hungry to send back.
From the moment we arrived, all staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I had mentioned it was my sister’s first Afternoon Tea experience, as she was coming to visit me in england for the first time. They surely went above and beyond! We had the loveliest time. Food and tea were, of course, outstanding. O will definitely come back and highly recommend!
Although we are not vegetarians, the dishes we chose were wonderfully full of flavour, and the presentation was a feast for the eyes as well.
We loved the Cloisters - it made for an unusual dining experience. The food was sublime.
Food is fabulous. The chef certainly knows what he's doing. The two young waitresses in the restaurant are very professional, polite and clearly take a pride in doing their utmost to help. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had in the restaurant but would have preferred a daily changing menu, or at least one or two changes each day.
Beautifully presented food, and very tasty. Portion sizes are excellent. It is evident that the chef takes a pride in the dishes produced. Would prefer a menu where some dishes are changed on a daily basis to allow for a little variance.
We felt we were left in the room and the service wasn’t good . We tried to order a drink and it was really difficult. It was just a bit disappointing
We had a lovely time. The staff were attentive but not too attentive - a fine skill to have.
Quite pleasant surroundings. Service wonderful hut a little slow. The food was very good and beautifully presented
We really enjoyed our first visit to Bailbrook House and we will definitely come again and possibly try a lunch or dinner next time. My Wife is dairy free and the alternatives provided were excellent. Thank you
