I used Badger and Co's Toad Hall for a Bridal Shower and was thoroughly impressed with the room and the service we received. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Lovely, comfortable and welcoming environment. Amazing food choices and tastes. Top class service from the team. Thank you
2nd visit and actually enjoyed it more than first visit. We had the 2 course lunch which was excellant value for money as well as being really tasty. As it was mid week it was quieter and that made it feel, for me friendlier. My friends were so impressed they have organised to comeback tommorow!
Room was not ready for 17:00 as agreed by email. Table places laid were 12 when many emails had stated 10. Pre dinner was not great with snacks not put out until I asked for them. Pre dinner drinks serving was slow as James had to go to bar upstairs - except for the Prosecco which we dealt with ourselves. Food ordering and serving went very well and a kids meal change was handled very quickly. The food was very good. I reckon that the total bill was quite a lot for a similar meal and similar wine in an Edinburgh city centre restaurant but the deal breaker was the private room with a kid friendly approach (and kids menu) and the distractions of the shuffleboard. I guess the room was well kitted out for small corporate events. We never used the projector and screen but it looked useful for some events.
We had a fantastic celebration dinner and entertainment. Thank you to all that made the evening so relaxed and enjoyable.
Super enjoyable meal and my Dad had a great evening, top stuff!
Great service and delicious food.
Lovely evening, very good food and service.
Slightly pricy I thought but food/drinks were good and the service was superb
excellent all round. booked having viewed trip advisor and glad we did. only 1 very minor point to make - perhaps the pies should come with chips/potatoes included like the fish and other dishes. apart from that will definitely book again when we return to edinburgh
Amazing food and service
The atmosphere and service were great but the food took way too long to arrive. My friends and I ordered the lamb rump, the meat itself was tender but it was only mildly warm when it arrived. I was also disappointed to find that mint sauce could not be provided as I consider that to be a basic condiment. Had very high expectations but was disappointed to find this to just be an average restaurant.
Enjoyed our food. My mistake but was disapointed the set menu wasnt on at the weekend. Food arrived promptly and was really tasty, we both had the fish and chips and a pudding. Service could really have been friendlier, didnt seem really interested when we didnt order any alcohol, after that didnt really interact at all with us. On saying that would go back.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The private dining venue was perfect for a family get together that included ages 7 months to 80 years old.
Food was bland and overcooked. Definitely not worth the money
Great place - one of our favourites!
We were celebrating a special birthday. The private dining room was excellent, food fantastic and the staff looked after us really well. Great venue, definitely recommend it.
Nice place good food and relaxed atmosphere definitely worth a visit.
Slow service. Uninterested wsiting staff. Chewy steak which was not acceptable for the price. All in all, felt like we were at Wetherspoon. Won't be returning
I liked my dining experience but I have to be honest and say that the food (from the table d'hote menu) was a little short on taste. Why no lemon to squeeze over a seafood pasta? I gave you 4 stars on food and drink due to the lovely white Rioja which I enjoyed immensely as a single glass of wine. You need to up your flavours on everyday food as my companion also had to ask for a dressing for her salad and thought the meal was a little tasteless. Lovely restaurant though and you have obviously worked hard on the lovely wine menu which is much appreciated. Just need to work harder on these flavours to make it amazing
The pies here are a must to try as is the lavender creme brulee
My fault entirely but on examing my bill the following day, discovered I had paid for 2 glasses of wine which I did not order or receive
Love the food here and the presentation is lovely
Food, cocktails and service all exceptional!
