delicious food and wine. Friendly attentive waiters and waitresses.
The tables were to close, the food was average, it was overpriced and the serving staff were young and didn’t have good English.
Everything was perfect. Food, atmosphere, service
Amazing restaurant! Lovely staff and the food was outstanding! Highly recommend especially before seeing a show :). Great experience, will be back soon!!
If I had a Michelin Star or two... to give… I would! The whole experience from start to finish was a culinary pleasure... for the eyes, nose, and taste buds… Superbly presented, delicious food, with the sort of intensity of flavour which is only achieved through experienced preparation… and a chef with a confident palate. This coupled with perfectly matched wines… and a delightful serving team… made dining at Bacar Restaurant an absolute pleasure!! Personally, I would recommend you don’t miss the Murray Valley Pork Belly with Cloudy Bay Clams, cider mustard glaze, or the Beef Cheek with beetroot ketchup, maple parsnips and spiced anchovy butter… followed by the dark chocolate fudge with peanut butter ice cream, caramelised banana and sea salt… but the cheese selection was equally as balanced with cheese from England, Italy and Australia… and whatever you do...don’t forget to order the sides… there can be a few hidden surprises here!
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with incredible service by the host. The waitress was amazing and the gentleman serving drinks was so lovely also. I thought it was a nice touch to have a member of the chef team deliver the meal to the table (who was also delightful). The meal was served swiftly and was definitely a quality mouthwatering delight. Drinks were no sooner finished and the waiter was there to offer a refill. Your customer service is a credit to you as is your culinary skills.
The beverage package is a good idea but you must have the staff available and aware so patrons are not waiting for a drink. Otherwise a great experience and very good food
Food and service excellent staff welcoming and friendly always A special mention to Brooke, Stanley and Ben Restaurant Manager for accomodating my diet request
Fantastic food and excellent service. My husband abd I had a fantastic evening dinning at Bacar. My only suggestion would be to expand fhe menu slightly.
A nice atmosphere and the service was great. For the most part the food was good, with the exception of the Reuben sandwich. It was semi cold when it came out and the portion size of the pastrami inside was minute (1-2 thin slices) to say the least. Same with the sauerkraut. This dish was mostly bread and not worth the price. I could have done better at home. If you are going to put something like that on the menu, make sure it is appropriate and that the chef knows how to make it. Clearly this chef had no idea what a Reuben sandwich is or what it should look like (it's not just a toastie). Go to New York and do some research if you are unsure or confused.
Wouldn’t eat there again!
A great meal with good service on the day (Xmas Day). Unfortunately communications prior to the event left a lot to be desired.
We went for Christmas lunch and could not have enjoyed ourselves more- staff were super pleasant and genially happy to be there Buffet was always full and a huge variety Drinks were topped up as required and a number of the Management from the Director of Catering down were constantly coming around to ensure all was good
We booked in to Bacar for Xmas lunch, with some friends who had eaten there last year. We were not disappointed. The food was extensive and delicious. The restaurant staff were incredible, really cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble and dirty plates were magiced away so you could return to buffet with a clean plate. Great value for money with all drinks included. Would definitely return next year.
The food at the Christmas Day buffet was amazing! So fresh and a fantastic variety! Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back again next year!
Extremely slow service, appeared to be very unorganised
This was our first stay at Pullman. We were attending Shania Twain Concert and thought we’d make a night of it. At first we were a little disconcerted by the set menu but must say the food was superb and we actually were forced to try an entree that we wouldn’t never have chosen. I must make special nite of the staff. Service was exemplary.
We went for the Shania Twain menu, it was explicitly noted that it was a surprise Birthday - yet this was not recognised. While staff are good. The cocktails had far too much ice, and were unmemorable. The menu, which was a set three course (there wasn't a single option) was bad from start to finish. Presentation was wonderful, - but everything lacked flavour, and by the end of the night we were happy to leave. The first course was average, the mains were disgusting, 300 grams of badly flavoured beef cheek, with a single parsnip and two drops of mushroom sauce - so you couldn't even hid the flavour of the meat. The dessert was worse, an apple crumble (which came deconstructed and ice cold) it tasted like breakfast, barely any apple, and far too much 'granola', topped with cheap white chocolate! All round unmemorable night, and despite living in Olympic Park, for this reason, we would never return. We should also note, that the restaurant was 1/4 full (if that), so there really is no excuse. We definitely think the chef needs to rethink the menu, and more hearty food with a fine dining twist, might work better - an apple crumble, can just be that, a delightfully spicy and warm apple crumble, that stirs memories of childhoods passed!
We slept through our original reservation and the staff were kind enough to change the time. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Would definitely eat here again and recommend to friends and family.
First time at Bacar restuarant, booked with my partner before heading to a concert at Olympic park. Atmosphere was great at the bar as there was a couple of concert on that time. Regarding the food and service at Bacar we were extremely disappointed our food was serviced cold took forever l receive our meals ! We ordered off a set menu, expecting to have amazing food. I would recommend eating across the road at Oportos or Mcdonald would have saved over $180! Very disappointment will NOT be returning back .
Knowing it was a busy night as there was an event on but very over priced for variety and amount of food on offer and waited sometime For meals to arrive but in saying that staff where friendly
Staying in the area for business and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Amazingly tasty food and great service. Sirloin was perfectly cooked.
Felt looked after when it was not busy. When it got busy, there was quite some neglect. The number of staff were not adequate during the busy period.
Good service and quality food which was delivered promptly. Only down side which was a little disappointing was the poor Accor Plus discount on event days with a set menu.
When I book and click on drop down box and enter date, if you are only having a set menu for that night you should let me know then rather than me get a call on day of booking to tell me that I cannot order from a la carte menu OR use Accor card. Not good enough, this has happened to us twice
