Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:
Passionate about Venetian small plates.
There is something about Salt House Bacaro in Liverpool that makes you want to spend all day and evening in there, talking with friends, laughing, whispering; draining your wallet on lots and lots of its food. And you won’t even care.
That’s not to say Salt House Bacaro is particularly expensive, but it is very addictive and temptation is everywhere. From Paddy Smith’s Red and Blue group, which already runs the hugely popular Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social, Bacaro is all about ciccheti, the Italian version of tapas: diminutive, and, as the saying (almost) goes, perfecto formed. The attention and passion is evident.
Spinach puree and pea shoots elevate goats cheese pearls into the heavens. Or try acorn-fed Iberico ham; Venetian, slow cooked duck ragout; a handful of pizzettes, and wonderful Stornoway black pudding with chicken livers in Marsala. Don’t miss the grilled king scallops in shells (£3.50 each), a perfect 10. Thirsty? Choose one of 10 different Camparis or a Bellini from a magnificent list.
"It is very clear that everyone involved is absolutely passionate about the food and how it is cooked and presented, along with obsessive interest in provenance." - Gordo
Only issue was my ox cheek the coating was a bit too hard to cut other than that no issues and great dining experience
Amazing restaurant. I had my graduation lunch here and they were so so lovely helpful ! I would recommend! Great food also
Absolutely amazing food that was extremely tasty and all came very quickly. Fabulous waitress who was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Will absolutely be back!
A wonderful way of dining. Stunning food (everything we tried was beautifully presented, fresh and full of flavour), lots of friendly guidance from our waitress, and surrounded by funky and industrial style decor. Couldn't fault it and would definately be a frequent visiter if I didn't live 200 miles away.
Amazing food Customer service is outstanding
Been to bacaro several times with friends and family, never had anything but great service and food.
Lovely evening, food and service faultless
Great selections and service again!
What a fantastic find. You need tp book, but it’s so worth it. Next time we’re in Liverpool this is a definite repeat.
A great fun evening, with good food and interesting Campari cocktails!
Service with a smile... Fast efficient and friendly, lively atmosphere and food so good you can't help but order a bit extra. I love it here
Just love the food here, always service with a smile. Recommend
We had a wonderful meal. Our waiter was fantastic. He helped us through the menu and explained how the dishes would arrive. I cannot fault the food or service. This is a cool restaurant with a great vibe and we will definitely return next time we are in Liverpool .
Fabulous meal and service.
We enjoyed it so much. Perfect dining experience!
Fabulous atmosphere, with amazing food & friendly service..
Excellent once again been twice in 2 weeks food and service can not be faulted. Me and my wife’s new afternoon restaurant when we in town little gem of a place. Best book as it is constantly busy.
Perfect for big occasions
Went the extra mile for girlfriends birthday.
Slow service with first meal out then waited a while for others and then all came out at once. I appreciate it tapas but with 4 guests you can’t have 1 person eating while others wait. Have been before and was better
Friendly service and great food.
Lovely service and even better food
Lovely food. Delicious Bellinis.
Consistently excellent service and food. Standards never falter. Hayley, who looked after us was a credit to the restaurant.
