Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:
Passionate about Venetian small plates.
There is something about Salt House Bacaro in Liverpool that makes you want to spend all day and evening in there, talking with friends, laughing, whispering; draining your wallet on lots and lots of its food. And you won’t even care.
That’s not to say Salt House Bacaro is particularly expensive, but it is very addictive and temptation is everywhere. From Paddy Smith’s Red and Blue group, which already runs the hugely popular Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social, Bacaro is all about ciccheti, the Italian version of tapas: diminutive, and, as the saying (almost) goes, perfecto formed. The attention and passion is evident.
Spinach puree and pea shoots elevate goats cheese pearls into the heavens. Or try acorn-fed Iberico ham; Venetian, slow cooked duck ragout; a handful of pizzettes, and wonderful Stornoway black pudding with chicken livers in Marsala. Don’t miss the grilled king scallops in shells (£3.50 each), a perfect 10. Thirsty? Choose one of 10 different Camparis or a Bellini from a magnificent list.
"It is very clear that everyone involved is absolutely passionate about the food and how it is cooked and presented, along with obsessive interest in provenance." - Gordo

Great food and service, one of my fave places in Liverpool!! Will defo be back :-)
Lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere. Plates were small but very tasty and food was served piping hot. All reasonably priced and would definitely visit again when I am in the area

Fantastic gluten free menu. Food was excellent and value for money. Waiter was very helpful and service good.
Amazing food and service
knowledgeable and friendly staff make this our favourite restaurant in Liverpool
Great menu and delicious dishes, the cod and sea bass were amazing, and the fried gnocchi a revelation. A great night out with friends
Love this gem of a restaurant. Great food, not so small plates, fab variety of dishes set in a lively atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service too. There's a fantastic buzz about Bacaro!
Good value for money Staff very friendly
Fabulous food and drink at very reasonable prices. Fabulous service. Cannot wait to return. 👍👍👍👍👍
Dine her at least once a month. Our favourite restaurant in Liverpool by some distance
Enjoyed the food as usual but just not as much as other visits
Dined here a few times now, as great as it was the first time. Positive experience and will return again and again.
My only criticism is that the food came all at the same time. This meant it went cold whilst eating the first dish. Could they be brought out a little slower?
Love your restaurant. Never had a bad meal or cocktail. We don’t go anywhere else for lunch apart from here when in Liverpool because we love everything abt the place !!! Keep doing what you are doing ! If you ever need anyone to sample a new menu or cocktail give us a shout lol
This was my first visit to Bacaro, for a pre theatre meal, and myself and my daughter were not disappointed. We loved the decor, atmosphere, friendly service and last but not least the food.It was a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable evening.Would not hesitate to recommend.Looking forward to visiting again.
I went here a couple of weeks ago and returned as i recommended it to my friends. From my point of view i have to have gluten free food and the menu for me was extensive as well as delicious. My friends food was amazing too. Will return again and again. Service/staff were great too.
