Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:
Passionate about Venetian small plates.
There is something about Salt House Bacaro in Liverpool that makes you want to spend all day and evening in there, talking with friends, laughing, whispering; draining your wallet on lots and lots of its food. And you won’t even care.
That’s not to say Salt House Bacaro is particularly expensive, but it is very addictive and temptation is everywhere. From Paddy Smith’s Red and Blue group, which already runs the hugely popular Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social, Bacaro is all about ciccheti, the Italian version of tapas: diminutive, and, as the saying (almost) goes, perfecto formed. The attention and passion is evident.
Spinach puree and pea shoots elevate goats cheese pearls into the heavens. Or try acorn-fed Iberico ham; Venetian, slow cooked duck ragout; a handful of pizzettes, and wonderful Stornoway black pudding with chicken livers in Marsala. Don’t miss the grilled king scallops in shells (£3.50 each), a perfect 10. Thirsty? Choose one of 10 different Camparis or a Bellini from a magnificent list.
"It is very clear that everyone involved is absolutely passionate about the food and how it is cooked and presented, along with obsessive interest in provenance." - Gordo
Great afternoon with excellent food and service! Will definitely be revisiting.
Very tasty food, a real dining out experience. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. However, had to ask for drinks as were left waiting for over 10 mins. Second time visited and will definitely be returning.
Food is fabulous, great atmosphere, never disappointed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Bacaro - from the service to the food to the atmosphere everything was top quality. We do not live in Liverpool but each time we visit the city the first thing on our itinerary is always a visit to Bacaro. It is consistently brilliant and keeps us coming back time and time again. Thank you Bacaro team!
Never disappoints. All time favourite restaurant in Liverpool.
Had the best dining experience at Bacaro, the food was phenomenal, service outstanding and a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I have already recommended to many of my friends and family and will do for some time. Bacaro is definitely one to remember and I'd 100% return.
Food was amazing, service was excellent.
Food arrived a bit fast.
Lovely date night venue
Even though it was Valentines night myself wife and daughter had excellent service during our visit. Third time we have been and it wont be the last.
Usually would have given 5 stars for everything but for the first time I have visited I left disappointed. Food just wasn’t up to scratch and they hVent changed the menu since I last went I December, no specials on. Very disappointing
Once again top notch food and service. Celebrated our wedding there. They made it really special.
We loved everything about this restaurant, great atmosphere, lovely, friendly, helpful staff and the food was absolutely amazing-so glad we used trip advisor to find this restaurant and next time we visit Liverpool we will definately eat here
Excellent food and service
Fantastic service - server is a real asset to your business and deserves recognition for that. She was passionate about the food, attentive and friendly! I could not even try and pick a favourite dish as they were all delicious and unique. I will hopefully be back very soon. The free coffees was a lovely touch to end a wonderful meal.
Came for my friend's 50th. We had the most amazing food. The service was outstanding. We weren't happy with the table we were sitting at and on a very busy sat night we were moved to a table in the middle of the restaurant. I always recommend the restaurant to all my friends. My favourite.
A regular salad on the menu would be a nice accompanyment to some of the dishes such as the fritto misto.
Always enjoy coming here!
Great food and service in a relaxed atmosphere.
Maybe a better selection of gin and tonics, as there was not a great choice to choose from, and the bar staff didn’t know what goes well with any of the gins you did sell, this is something minor as the food and restaurant itself is fantastic.
Best restaurant in Liverpool, or anywhere, in my opinion.
Excellent food, brilliant service and good value for money.
Can’t recommend highly enough! I had dinner here on my birthday & the food was outstanding, very tasty! The waitress was lovely and service was fantastic, she explained how the menu worked and how to order as we hadn’t visited before. We were also surprised with a complimentary chilled glass of fizz as it was my birthday. I will definitely be back, just a pity I live in Scotland!
