Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:
Passionate about Venetian small plates.
There is something about Salt House Bacaro that makes you want to spend all day and evening in there, talking with friends, laughing, whispering; draining your wallet on lots and lots of its food. And you won’t even care.
That’s not to say Salt House Bacaro is particularly expensive, but it is very addictive and temptation is everywhere. From Paddy Smith’s Red and Blue group, which already runs the hugely popular Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social, Bacaro is all about ciccheti, the Italian version of tapas: diminutive, and, as the saying (almost) goes, perfecto formed. The attention and passion is evident.
Spinach puree and pea shoots elevate goats cheese pearls into the heavens. Or try acorn-fed Iberico ham; Venetian, slow cooked duck ragout; a handful of pizzettes, and wonderful Stornoway black pudding with chicken livers in Marsala. Don’t miss the grilled king scallops in shells (£3.50 each), a perfect 10. Thirsty? Choose one of 10 different Camparis or a Bellini from a magnificent list.
"It is very clear that everyone involved is absolutely passionate about the food and how it is cooked and presented, along with obsessive interest in provenance." - Gordo
One of my favourite places to go!
Eaten there many times, always a pleasure. Always freshly cooked food served by friendly staff.....
Another great meal at Bacaro
We absolutely adored our amazing food. First time we have dined here, but definitely won’t be the last. Atmosphere was relaxed. Service was excellent. Cannot wait to have the hummus again, and particularly loved the goats cheese pearls. The wine was reasonably priced. Definitely book again really soon.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere and fab service

A really lovely atmosphere and attentive servers.
Went for late lunch on Saturday. Service not good.
Everyone's food was tasty, house red wine was lovely, plenty of water brought to the table, waiting on staff were all helpful and polite.
Very busy, but pleasant Pretty loud, but the quality of the food is worth it
Best night in Liverpool on our long weekend from Canada !
Amazing food, amazing drinks and choice of drinks, amazing and attentive staff. Perfect for me and my partners date night
Beautiful food and excellent service. Loved the ambience x
I hesitate to give the venue only 4 out of 5 for food and drink as everything was near perfection BUT there was no non / low alcohol beer choice which I found disappointing.
I love this place! A real gem! Thanks as always.
