Automatic is an independent restaurant and café bar situated next door to The Met Theatre, Bury.
The perfect place to meet friends, eat great food, drink great coffee, do business, enjoy a cocktail or few, or a pint of real ale.
Try our 'Malt' bar too; with an extensive menu of over 100 whiskies and right next to The Met it's a great spot for a pre-or-post-gig tipple or two.
At certain times we can get very busy. For pre-theatre dining, if possible, please allow yourself two hours to dine with us.
This online reservation system will only allow you to make reservations for a maximum of 6 persons. Please call us (0161 763 9399) if you would like to make a reservation greater than this. Our MAXIMUM party size for the restaurant is strictly 20 persons.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of food to accommodate all preferences.
Very enjoyable as usual.
Given that we eat there fairly regularly it is probably not necessary to ask for feedback every time :)
Good place for pre show food & drinks (we were going to see The Clone Roses & The Smiths Ltd) service was good, staff v efficient!
Excellent service and lovely food
In all the years I have been going here since it opened never had a bad meal. The veggie curry and cocktails amazing. And the loveliest staff as always.
Good selection on menu, excellent service from waitress , food well presented and delicious. Discrete supervision from restaurant manager
Great food and service.
This must have been my wife and I's fourth or fifth visit. Great friendly and helpful service. Food very good value. However, it was an early Sunday evening and we had the room pretty much to ourselves. So lacking in atmosphere a bit. I liked the choice of background music.
Excellent in every way. Steak cooked to perfection.
Was super great food and drink nice to see mocktails priced well
Always enjoy eating here as the staff, service and food never disappoint.
Excellent food. Very tasty and well presented. Service was also excellent. The hard surfaces make it a little too noisy.
We were going to the met to see doors alive which started a 7.30 pm, and I booked a table at 6 pm, and I had to chase the waitress a couple of times to bring our mains and the bill, also I stuck my hand in the air for several minutes, and absolutely no serving staff responded, I hate bad service, we still tipped out of politeness but felt it slightly spoiled our start to the evening out. I also looked like a mad person to other diners having to chase staff, so we could leave in time for the theatre.
It was super busy but the staff were absolutely great - they asked if we were there for an event and then kept us on time to make sure we didn't miss the start. Our waitress dealt with my food allergy really well and we enjoyed the meal very much. Only downside (hence less stars) was that it was really noisy - people and music - so dinner chat was pretty much impossible. That said, I'd still recommend.
Always a great experience!
Excellent lunch and extremely good value for money. The staff were absolutely lovely. Attentive but not intrusive.
Waited far more than a couple of minutes when the males in our group were served first. Very unhappy with the response claiming it was only a few minutes when we both had to stop eating twice so we hadn't finished before the partners meals came out.
Lovely service. Good food. Good value for money cocktails.
Lovely meal. I especially enjoyed the starter.
Food was as delicious as ever and staff really friendly and welcoming. Always a great place to eat or to grab drinks.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything!!!
Great friendly staff, super efficient and helpful. Food was amazing and such good value for money! Love the new menu. Thank you!
Too noisy. Background music was a collection of noises that no one was listening to and causing shouting so they could talk to their dining partners. Great shame as it spoilt good food nice place
