About Auberge du Lac
The Brocket Hall Estate is home to two restaurants - Auberge du Lac and The Melbourne Club.
AUBERGE DU LAC
Housed in Brocket Hall’s former hunting lodge, Auberge du Lac enjoys a beautiful lakeside setting overlooking the stunning 543 acre country estate and the Hall itself.
Whether it is al fresco dining in summer at the water’s edge, or an intimate environment in the winter months, Auberge du Lac provides the right mood for every occasion. With a beautiful lounge, picturesque terrace and a host of tastefully decorated private dining rooms, capable of seating from 2 to 18 guests, the restaurant regularly caters for private dinners, ladies lunches, weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations.
THE MELBOURNE CLUB
At the heart of the Estate lies The Melbourne Club. The restaurant opens its door to the public for special events from Wine Dinners to Jazz Sunday Lunch. With views across the Broadwater Lake to Brocket Hall, The Melbourne Club is the perfect location to enjoy a drink on the terrace followed by lunch or dinner.
After having excellent lunch at A du L and walking around grounds, very dissapointed and surprised to not be allowed to take tea or refreshments in the golf club. The extra load from occasional diners would be minimal.
Our regular wedding anniversary and birthday dinner venue, difficult to top in East Herts, but don't tell everybody :)
A lovely lunch for us 4 family women. Emily and the team looked after us very well from the outset. What's not to like about the Auberge! JS
The staff go above and beyond to accommodate us. The food is excellent as always. Every time we have visited we enjoyed ourselves.
I was with my friend celebrating her birthday and we had a delightful lunch in a delightful restaurant. Our daughter had her wedding reception in the Brocket Hall Golf Club about 14 years ago and we have been back several times since.
I was given a voucher when I left my job and it was a great choice of gift. My husband and I had a lovely Sunday lunch, beautiful food, lovely setting and great value for money.
Have wanted to visit ADL for some time, and it really didnt disappoint. Really did have some of that old school quality and charm to it that some mod restaurants lack. Service was faultless, and every single thing we ate and drank was an absolute delight, from the initial taster bites with our prosecco, to the extremely intricate and full of flavour salads we had for starters. My wife's Sunday roast beef excellent and my Sea Bream divine. Could have quite happily eaten dessert twice, but rounding off with cheese and some truffles hit the spot. Even the homemade bread with Marmite butter (I'm on the fence with Marmite but it was a dream), was fab. We were helped with the weather being bright and sunny which definitely adds something, but I imagine a winter snug in would equally be as warm and charming. Top marks!
Staff could not have been more helpful, making the occasion very special for us.
We had a lovely lunch. Thank you
the only real hiccup was a bit of confusion over the portion size for children and the cost. But this was quickly sorted. One or two guests found the roast beef a little chewey. Emma and the team looked after us very well
Really good again. Everything perfect
Excellent food and service
This is my second visit this year, and it was lovely to be welcomed with welcome back you were here with your daughters last time. I was impressed, food and service are outstanding
Fantastic evening, food , staff and restaurant amazing definitely recommend to others and definitely coming back .
The manageress who served us in the restaurant and assisted my parents in the buggy as they could not walk down the stairs was superb. We look forward to next visit
Absolutely fantastic, the chefs ideas and creations are top drawer. A must for food lovers.
Very enjoyable and relaxed evening - the service was excellent and the food very well presented and delicious to eat. We shall come again.
A disappointing visit to celebrate A level results. Food very bland and not exciting for the price charged. Positioned at the back of the restaurant and felt other diners were all over the age of 60, felt a bit like visiting an old people’s home. Food very average
Lovely friendly staff
The location of Auberge is unbeatable, and the ambience of the place is lovely. The service was impeccable as always, and the staff very friendly. The food is the crowning glory, and was excellent, as was the wine (chose Amarone). A touch pricey, but wonderful for a special occasion.
A lovely setting. Friendly service. The food was excellent, very delicious and nicely presented. I would definitely go again.
well worth future Visits
A very enjoyable experience. Greeting on arrival was warm and friendly. The young lady who we assume was the maitre d’, was knowledgable on the food and drinks menus and was ably supported by the staff on the restaurant floor, who were all excellent. We very much look forward to our next visit in October.
Excellent in all respects.
A lovely lunch, food and service were excellent, charming in fact.
