Atelier, the new restaurant at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is the place for l’experience gastronomique, combining fine cuisine and a chic ambiance. The welcoming contemporary space artfully integrates French elegance and local history. The international menu tempts with locally sourced produce meticulously prepared at the rotisserie and grill, accompanied by a creative dessert philosophy, and exceptional wines from Australia, France and around the world. Bon appétit!
The restaurant was warm and inviting as well as the staff. Our waiter was very friendly and apologised when we mentioned one of our side dishes hadn’t arrived it was too late by the time we got to mention it to him but he made sure it was taken off the bill . One thing I was disappointed with was the share plate choice of grilled prawns wasn’t available on the menu for a single meal . Share plates are good for a group but not for 2 people dining. Food was delicious and we really enjoyed the champagne bar before dinner and would come back and recommend it to friends
The Duck dish was prepared admirably. We were a party of 9 and 5 chose the Duck and all are of the same view. The roast pork entree was also excellent.Liked the warm bread that was served. Great service from Ash. Will be there again this weekend.
I arranged a corporate dinner at Atelier with high expectations and anticipating a great evening. I was extremely disappointed and have since had very negative feedback from the other guests. Service was slow, our request for semi private dining space was ignored and food was very average. Never again. If I could give NO stars - I would
Love the Sydney food scene, but the food at the restaurant was bland, overpriced and served cold to warm at best for all guests on my table. An overwhelmingly disappointing experience.
Disappointed with the service. Only one glass on the table for 2. Ended up trying to get water for myself when finally a waiter came along and assisted. Service was better after that and food was good. Breakfast was pretty much a disaster. No one told us the routine. We ordered coffee when we were seated. That didn’t come!!!! We served our hot food only to find that we had make our toast. The first toaster didn’t work so had to get help and try again. My hot breakfast was completely cold when I finally got to it. There was no butter on the table so had to call for that. The egg came when I’d finished. We called for coffee again and that came as we were about to leave. IF we’d known your routine it would have been easier. Overall very disappointing service. Would not recommend it. .
A delightful restaurant in a fantastic hotel! We would definitely recommend it to family and friends who live in or are visiting Sydney. My husband had the seafood bouillabaisse to start and the broth was a standout. Simply Superb. Both of us had the same main course - Angus medallions medium rare - served with charred Brussel sprouts and speck. A big tick. Dessert was a shared plate of 3 chefs selection items - light and delicious. Merci beaucoup Sofitel!
Don't Waste Your Money at Atelier , there are great restaurants in Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay to enjoy . Went for my birthday , worst dining experiences I think I have had . Had to leave restaurant to go downstairs to complain to hotel management , still waiting for Greg Brady to return phone call . With time & luck , one day I may be able to forget the terrible service and food at Atelier .
We had a great times. Services & foods and Atmosphere are warm
The menu was very limited, a side dish of Brussel sprouts was twice the size of the main course! Service was the best part of this very mediocre experience and certainly not value for money
Wonderful and stylish restaurant. Food was delicious and presented beautifully.
Great service, good knowledge with pairing wine to mains. Rib eye is a must !!
Not enough services but still acceptable
We had another wonderful evening at your restaurant ...... everything was superb, and we will definitely return the next time we come to Sydney!
Very enjoyable lunch. Great food and lovely staff.
Thank you to Vince our server who was excellent. His manner, politeness and quiet quality of service was superb. Our barramundi was cooked to excellence and presentation was also excellent.
Very quite and peaceful venue. I love it
The food and wine was of a very high standard as would be expected for the price. The service was attentive without being overwhelming. We were a little disappointed at not being able to get the draught beer as listed on the menu but this was atoned for by the offering of a suitable alternative.
Food was nice but would prefer some vegetables on the plate for the main meal without having to buy sides
Lovely food, great service but glass of champagne over the top at $26
Beautiful atmosphere and very tasty warm bread and sides! (Loved the truffle mash) I had the prawn bouillabaisse which was really nice too. Portions are on the smaller side but overall it was pretty good. As a pescatarian (I eat seafood only, no other meats) the food was limiting. There’s plenty of red meat options but not enough seafood options. I tried everything I could when I dined in the first time, so it’s given me no other menu items to come back and try. A fish of the day is a good option or more seafood options other than prawns- seeing as I had a prawn entree and a prawn main through lack of option.
Very slow and inattentive service.
Fabulous! Great food , great service , great location. Love it
