About Asian Market Cafe
Back with a new look and feel, the refreshed interiors of the well-loved Asian Market Café are inspired from the black and white charm of Singapore’s historical colonial-style homes.
Tuck into a glorious buffet spread of local favourites and contemporary regional delicacies which showcases the authentic Halal-certified pan-Asian cuisine.
This sumptuous buffet which reflects the colourful diversity of flavours and cultures within the region is complemented by live stations and exciting DIY dessert stalls that will keep diners coming back for more.
In view of the evolving Coronavirus Disease 2019 (“COVID-19”) situation, we are following additional precautionary measures outlined by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to prevent further spread of the virus. Kindly be informed that we will not be able to permit entry to all our restaurant & bars if:
· You have visited another country in the last 10 days
· You have fever, a dry cough, breathing difficulties, severe muscle aches, or experience continuous pain or chill and shivering
· You have been administered a nasal swap at the Singapore Changi Airport
· You have had any contact with a new COVID-19 patient in the past 14 days
· Any one of your immediate family members has had contact with a new COVID-19 patient in the past 14 days
· You are currently on a mandatory Stay Home Notice
Should there be a queue when you arrive, please practise social distancing of 1 metre apart from the person/group in front of you. ALL guests are required to scan the QR code on the signage at the front door and fill up an online declaration form.
Temperature checks will also be conducted at the entrance of the restaurant. Kindly take note of your temperature as it will need to be indicated on the declaration form.
Choices of food should be more. The price that we customers are paying are not justified at all. Thanks
Food was served even when not all guests have arrived. We were told it was to be such and left us with no choice. It was a Sunday dinner and they were understaffed. Some orders took a long time to be served. Food quality and variety not fantastic. Plates not cleared until second request.
Had a great meetup and Iftar with Ex Colleagues. Even though buffet was served on table. Service was limited due to short of manpower compared previously before Covid. However they are quick to our requests and even remembered to serve the surprised birthday cake. The only issue I had is to refer to the menu thru phone. It will be good to have 1 copy on table for reference since we can't move to buffet lines. Overall had a great experience.
Very attentive servers.
We love the place as it bring back many wonderful memories. Currently we noticed that there is a shortage of servers and they are multitasking at the cashier and drink station. We can see that they are trying their best to accomodate to everyone. We need to commend your staffs for their hardwork and ability to work as a team during this challenging period. We look forward for our next visit in the near future.
We were terribly disappointed when the service was poor. The foods we order are not served & the clearing of the plates was super slow.

Nice presentation of the food layout and the food is good. Nice ambience though interior abit old but its spacious , probably to comply with safe distancing. However , think the restaurant was understaff that we were not able to get our food top up fast and our dirty plates changed, could not get the attention of the waitors even with our hands up. Overall, we enjoyed the food.
The food quality pales in comparison to the food served on my previous visit. The noodle was soggy while the gravy was a tad oily. I could not detect the typical laksa aroma. The prata lacked the crispiness while the gravy served was insufficient. The bowl was too small to hold the generous amount of meat leaving no room to dip the bread in the gravy. Our favourite food, the fresh oysters were missing; in its place were the clams - certainly not an appropriate replacement to be eaten raw. The only saving graces are the sashimi, the satay and the durian paste.
Service is impeccable, despite an obvious shorthand of staff, the 6 or 7 service crew were all smiles and willing to keep orders flowing. Food is so-so but the 50% card discount off the rack rate was fair enough. Decor has not changed since I last patronised 5 years ago so maybe the hotel could consider revamping. Nothing to fault but nothing to be awed as well. Pleasant experience because of the wonderful service rendered.
Disappointed with the quality a selection of food, especially the hot dishes. Not worth the cost. I rather have those dishes in the food court. Laksa and prata make up for it though. Service is good.
I had lunch buffet with cousin family and generally food are delicious. Chilli crab is my favorite and order twice. Staffs are friendly and nice. Will go back again.
The food was served cold mostly. Not great ambience as such.

The food choices is a lot. But i felt there is more wastage as almost all food are served at one go for a group of 3. There are over 10 dishes we just tasted a little but did not get to finish at all. These will be thrown away.

The Friday night service was fantastic. The servers were accomodating, attentive, and efficient. My only feedback is to maybe have 1 or 2 more service crew as the service crew that were there looked strained and understaffed. Overall, fantastic.
Great ambience and fantastic customer service - good variety of menu, unfortunately I personally found quality and taste to be mediocre. Despite this my family and I had a good time and will definitely return, thank you staff of Asian Market Cafe.
Short of servers & limited food choice. Dessert should have been better with at least everyone’s favourite- ice cream.
My family and I were served by 3 gentlemen. 2 Indian and a malay waiter. They were awesome in terms of service and were very attentive to all diners. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service rendered to us. Keep up the good work and the gentlemen definitely deserved to be commended. Thank you and will return soon.
The food was cold , hard to order without online order ,the waitress service was slow as it seems impossible to get their attention! Variety also reduced from previous buffet .
Food average considered the next price of $41 per pax after 50% birthday discount. Salted egg crayfish, beef, Durian punket, fried rice are excellent. Sashimi is below average. Teh tarik is very good especially one can order without sugar or less sugar. Service staff is excellent. we can tell that they are short of staff. They are trying very hard
My family recently dined at the Asian Market Cafe on April 13,2021 and was terribly disappointed with the whole set up and service received. We went with much excitement and left the restaurant upset and angry on our first evening of Ramadan breaking fast dinner. There were only 3 service staff for dinner and there were around 9 tables filled at that time. I noticed the staff were hosting, to show guests to tables and explaining how the buffet works taking orders, answering questions serving food cooking and plating some of the dishes clearing plates and put clean ones (had to ask them for this) replenish dishes topping up water cashier These 3 men were moving around non-stop because guests frequently need their attention as we are not allowed to take our own food. The management need to look into putting more staff especially during dinner and on special occasions. Putting a buffet price at $90++ per adult for such dining experience? No, thank you. I am writing because the staff really need more help and Fairmont risked of losing these hard working people and customers in the near future.
