Our High Tea menus are award-winners and our kitchens are extremely proud of the home-made sandwiches, cakes and scones they serve. To see them piled high on bone china plates with accompanying pots of strawberry jam and thick clotted cream, it’s easy to see how they won over the most critical judge’s eye.
The period lounges are the perfect place to enjoy our High Teas, or if the weather is nice and warm, the terrace overlooking the lawns and lake makes a sunny alternative. Or we’ll carefully pack your High Tea into a picnic hamper for you to enjoy wherever you like. Throughout the year, you can also book special Afternoon Tea events or limited availability themed menus.

Excellent takeaway afternoon tea. Food was delicious and the gluten free option made the rest of us jealous! Staff were friendly, booking and collection was all very smooth.
I ordered an Afternoon Tea collection for Mother’s Day and it didn’t disappoint! The food was of an excellent standard and was so delicious and special! There was a great quantity and quality of food for the price I paid and it brought a smile to my Mum’s face. The staff when I collected it were absolutely lovely and made the whole experience so perfect. I can’t wait to come and have afternoon tea at the hotel properly!

Comparing to having tea in the hotel, this really isn't value for money. You would normally provide extra sandwiches, milk, sugar etc.. but in the pack, the quantity of sandwiches was too small. Cakes were pretty thick and not soft/fluffy. Not sure we would do the takeaway option again. There was also no thought to anyone who might be doing tea in a garden or public place - eg no plastic cutlery to help with the scones and cake eating.
I ordered a takeaway afternoon tea and it was beautifully presented, delicious well received. The online ordering was simple and collection easy with no fuss.
The take away afternoon tea was superb! It was a gift for Mother’s Day and made for a very special treat. The packaging was also very smart and carefully packed. Thank you!
Hello, we collected an afternoon tea (for 3) on Sunday from you and were a bit disappointed as the bread on the sandwiches was so dried out it was almost crispy! The cucumber wasn’t very fresh either .. it’s a shame because the scones were lovely and so were the cakes but the sandwiches really weren’t nice! I think for the price, and the fact we drove to collect them, it was a shame. It was meant as a treat for my mother to thank her for helping out with the homeschooling, but I felt a bit embarrassed....

My favourite hotel ever. Best afternoon tea on the planet & I’ve tried a few believe me! I went to ******** in Turners Hill - teabags!!!!🙄 Ashdown Park is friendly professional & strikes right balance between genuine old world charm & modern facilities. It isn’t flash & glitzy, it is traditional, elegant and as comfy as one of its old squidgy sofas! I got married there and afternoon tea was our chosen meal- because it’s always so delicious. Love it! Wish I could be there for my lockdown!

Love atmosphere and friendly professional staff. Furniture could be a bit friendly for the elderly as a little low but perfect as a present to a parents/grandparents!

A little music to accompany our afternoon tea would have been nice but really I cannot criticise. The food was lovely, staff attentive and I always enjoy a walk around the grounds (although a little muddy this time but we can prepared with additional footwear). Thank you

Perfection
I felt very safe at Ashdown Park Hotel. Everyone was masked and socially distanced. The festive afternoon tea was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. We worked our way through all 3 tiers ! It was soooo good!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My only slight niggle was that the desserts were very heavily chocolate based and a fruitier option would have been nice. Never the less still lovely.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, served in a tastefully decorated lounge, on comfy sofas. As it was December there were Christmas decorations around and a fantastic tree in the reception area. The tea had a festive theme with decorated cakes and a Rudolph macaroon! The cinnamon scones were to die for - needless to say we had to get some bits boxed up to take home. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon with attentive staff and I would recommend it to anyone.
It was a lovely afternoon which is not unexpected because we have been before and I am going back again for lunch next week
I really enjoyed my stay, the staff were courteous charming and freindly. The accommodation overlooking the lake was wonderful, we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset. The room was comfortable and cosy. Surprisingly we were kept awake by a loud group of poeple downstairs from us at 2oclock in the morning, no fault of the hotel. The Covid precautions were good. Thank you for a lovely stay with a delicious tea, dinner and breakfast.
