About Rhinefield House Hotel - Armada Restaurant
With its intricate wood panelling, tall ceilings and pale pink marble fireplace, The Armada Restaurant displays all the features and period charm of its era.
In keeping with the restaurant’s name, a wooden carving of an impressive naval fleet decorates the wall, giving the space a distinctly regal feel, and guests can enjoy views
over manicured grounds and gardens as they dine.
The Armada offers a menu of classic British dishes that have been enhanced with a contemporary twist. With a focus on provenance, many of the items are sourced from
trusted suppliers based in and around the New Forest.
Located opposite The Armada is the enchanting Alhambra private dining room which reproduces the majestic splendour of the Alhambra Palace in Granada – we know you’ll be impressed.
We had a lovely evening. Good service, good food and good environment.
Lovely spot and great Sunday roast. Staff could have been a little friendlier.
The Head Waiter and Wotchek (?) our waiter were very attentive and efficient. The 5 course tasting menu was a nice change to the norm..
Food was very nice although not its usual melt in your mouth kind. Main course was a little slow, but very good waiter distracting clients from the wait I would definitely eat here again and recommend it but advice to keep meals coming out a little quicker.
Excellent service, attentive but not over the top. Stunning location with excellent food. Would highly recommend and will be back soon.
Great view and stunning room!
Great service, credit to restaurant. Lovely and friendly, particularly the two who we remember from Stanwell house years ago. Great food, Lovely Could do with a big log fire as room a bit cold in darkest February
Food was superb, staff where superb, what more do you say. Very enjoyable evening.
Beautiful restaurant with antique feel. Very attentive staff and great food.
Beautiful place steeped in atmosphere with breathtaking views. As we are from London we are used to many fine dining restaurants on our doorstep, whilst we spent a very pleasant evening dining a couple of small things let us down. The potatoes on my dish were rock hard and therefore inedible. The rest of the dish was lovely so I didn't mention it. Too much use of foam in some dishes, it didn't add anything. Some of the waiting staff were lacking in their knowledge of the dishes or their availability. Overall these are small but noticeable things.
The perfect way to spend Christmas Day. Great food, lovely atmosphere. Incredible staff.
We really enjoyed our excellent vegetarian meal . Staff were all charming and professional.
The food was nice however it was disappointing that you dont have the desserts marked to say what is vegetarian and the waiter didnt know either and i had to suggest he went to ask the chef. It was surprising that the table clothes were unironed.
We enjoyed an excellent celebratory meal with attentive, friendly service in the beautiful Alhambra Room. This is not the first time we've stayed at the hotel and won't be the last.
The food we chose was very good and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The service very good considering some off the staff were quite young. Which would suggest they had been trained, unlike some establishments. We were not rushed, and the atmosphere was to our liking. Value for money was comparable with other hotels of this calibre.
Wonderful meal / dining experience first evening sadly our second evening meal / experience was most disappointing. My wife chose the poached salmon. The sauce on this dish was far too salty & unpalatable. Upon speaking to the Maitre D' about this issue we were told that was how the sauce was served & couldn't be altered so would my wife like to choose another dish. This she did, by the time her replacement meal was served I had finished my main meal, hence we both ate seperately. Surely if food is freshly prepared the sauce can be made to a diner's taste. The dessert menu was rather chocolate heavy in choice, my wife has an intolerance to chocolate & cheese. There was nothing suitable on the Armada menu for her dessert. We asked if under the circumstances she may have her dessert from the menu in the Conservatory. The Maitre D' made this quite clear that it would not be allowed as this would affect his AA 2 rosettes award. It is clearly stated on your menu to make staff aware of any food allergies or intollerances. However, it would appear that when this happens no alternative dessert is offered. My wife that evening didn't have a dessert.
Great Sunday lunch, excellent service.
Fine food excellent service very satisfied coming back tomorrow :-)
Good food in a relaxing environment
Everything was superb, thank you. The food was excellent the staff attentive and the ambiance enchanting.
Food was faultless. The waiting service staff exceptionally friendly although service was a bit disorganised such as waiting for coffee at end meal and arrival breakfast after ordering drinks was big delay so we worked out that best to order breakfast when we ordered the hot drinks. On arrival there was no one to help carry luggage to rooms although it was offered we were late arriving and decided to carry our own but we saw many guests carrying bags. The hotel buildings are stunning but the rooms such as bathrooms are bit dated in parts & although very clean there were parts of rooms and public areas where tiredness in carpets corners were grotty, the rooms very comfy but a bit disappointing(bathroom is culprit)! This was no fault of friendly staff it’s just how the hotel is?! But the food really was plentiful & superb this made up for the areas lacking.
Very good quality food and very well presented. The chef should be congratulated on his excellent meals. Service is also very efficient and friendly. No hesitation in recommending this restaurant.
Excellent meal. Beautiful room. Very happy with service etc
The salmon was cold, we weren’t asked if we would have liked another bread roll and when we booked we requested a window table, this was not available and was given to guests staying at the hotel. Definitely not worth the money
