About Rhinefield House Hotel - Armada Restaurant
With its intricate wood panelling, tall ceilings and pale pink marble fireplace, The Armada Restaurant displays all the features and period charm of its era.
In keeping with the restaurant’s name, a wooden carving of an impressive naval fleet decorates the wall, giving the space a distinctly regal feel, and guests can enjoy views
over manicured grounds and gardens as they dine.
The Armada offers a menu of classic British dishes that have been enhanced with a contemporary twist. With a focus on provenance, many of the items are sourced from
trusted suppliers based in and around the New Forest.
Located opposite The Armada is the enchanting Alhambra private dining room which reproduces the majestic splendour of the Alhambra Palace in Granada – we know you’ll be impressed.
Lovely afternoon tea, staff super
Sadly - this was my third visit - and I brought 5 guests with me. The service was personable and engaging (as always) - but it took too long for food to be served between courses - and when it arrived it was cold. So disappointing as the first time I visited it was exceptional... which is why I booked for a very special family event. Hopefully this was a one off.
We were served gone off old clotted cream. Didn’t see a server for at least 45 minutes each time throughout our 3 hours there. Really disappointed, even moreso that 3 of us have been poorly due to the dates clotted cream. Unfortunately won’t be recommending this to my clients.
Lovely afternoon tea
Afternoon tea and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is impressive and it was a very relaxed atmosphere with good food, especially loved the savoury afternoon tea.
No atmosphere in overflow restaurant. Would like to see a larger choice of cereals
Food was wonderful. Service very good. Really enjoyed ourselves, thank you. More formal experience for being in the restaurant, which was fine as we’d decided against bringing our children. If we’d brought them it would have been difficult to manage them. One note on the staff’s uniform face masks - very difficult for the staff to keep them up over their noses. One staff member may as well not have been wearing his. Not his fault I don’t think, but better masks need to be provided if you’re going to make them wear uniform masks.
The service and welcome were good, and we really enjoyed the savoury afternoon tea. Thanks for a lovely afternoon out.
We rang ahead to make sure that my partner’s intolerance to white flour was taken into account. The waiter seemed confused and it seemed that it had not been considered.
Outstanding food and service
Great location, brilliant service and food amazing
We had a lovely evening with amazing food and great service. I would love to go back!
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Armarda, the dishes were sublime and I really recommend the baked cheesecake.
A lovely experience. I booked for my daughter and friends to go for afternoon tea and they loved it. They said the food was amazing, the staff were really nice and really looked after them, and the room was beautiful. Thank you!
One of the best afternoon teas we have been too.The food was excellent and the service and attention second to none.A very enjoyable experience.
Taster menu very good. Slightly expensive.
What a great venue to celebrate special occasion. Great service and delicious food.
One of the best afternoon teas that I have had, me and my mum have been to a lot of places. The staff were so polite and the service was amazing. Will 100% recommend to anybody and we can't wait to come back. Thank you :)
Staff were really helpful and friendly
The food, atmosphere and service were exceptional
Had a lovely time and appreciated the care our main waiter took. Was given a birthday cake which was lovely but to be honest the cupcakes I make are lighter. The amount of cheese for 2 scones isn't enough, we asked for more as did the table next to us. Would have been nice to have some hot water for the tea. Please don't think I did a bad experience, it was lovely, but am just giving my opinion to what would have made it absolutely spot on
First time here to have afternoon tea and we certainly were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was impecable. We had Jessie serving us and he was fantastic at making sure we had everything we needed at all times. The experience would not have been the same had we not had him serving us. We had one sweet and one savoury afternoon tea, both of which were better than expected. Rhinefield house itself is stunning and we will certainly be looking to come back again in the future.
Lovely choice of menu for afternoon tea which we enjoyed with a glass of champagne for our anniversary. Great service and a lovely walk around the beautiful grounds ended a wonderful day out celebrating the place where we married 9 years ago.
