Really enjoyed afternoon tea. Hotel looks amazing after the refurbishment and the bar is so cosy. Great service. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful food. Great to see new items on the menu. Important to freshen up menu in any restaurant every so often
Very enjoyable time
We had dinner on our second night of our stay, booked it for a sitting at 6.00 our starters came out around 45 mins later, followed by main course, around 25 mins, I had sea bass, wife had steak, it was nice. I asked could he have the sea bass, she said no that he was to choose from the kids menu, i offered to pay the difference between the 2, she said no i couldn't as we were on a package deal. My son opted for the chicken fillet, mash & veg, I didn't realise until he was half way through it, that ihe said it was very dry. It was like it was left under a heat lamp & forgotten about, he didn't eat that much of it, nearly all the mash & bit of veg. Again he was offered something else but due to his allergies he declined. Then I got the sticky toffee pudding, words can't describe was it tasted like- rubber bands come to mind, hard time to get spoon into it. That was after a wait of 45 mins. The waitress asked if it ok after she seen I was finished, I told her, what I thought about it, I was offered another 1 but I declined, Overall I was very disappointed especially for my son as he seen the sea bass on the menu on which he couldn't have due to it not been on kids menu. Just over 2hrs later we we asked for the bill(€7 supplement for steak), as we were not happy about our dinner, she waved the steak supplement. I'm not blaming the the waitresses, but the chef's on duty....!
At a casual and slightly rushed internet search ahead of needing a hotel in Maynooth, Glenroyal appeared to be almost the only one available in the appropriate price bracket. It proved to be lovely in every respect. The only thing was that my standard double bed was too short for me (my feet dangled off the end) though that is more my lack of preparation and research than the hotel's fault! The only reason I haven't put 5 stars above is that the visit to Maynooth was so busy that I don't remember much about the hotel.
Service was worst ever left 40 mis before got menu when meal came had finished before mash arrived
Great hotel and restaurant! Ceasar makes such an effort making sure all guests are ok, a real pleasure and we will definitely visit again (in fact, this was our second time staying in the hotel and visiting the restaurant so that says a lot!)
I went for graduation and I loved the extra effort put in like the set menu and they even wrote "congratulations" on my desert, it made the meal extra special
Everything was amazing. The staff, food and overall service 5 star! Thank you for making my grad so special and we will definitely be back in the future!!
Everything was lovely. Staff were so friendly and great with the kids. Highly recommend it.
This is one, if not the best, hotel I have ever stayed in! The family adventure package was outstanding value. All the staff we so friendly, and as a team really need to be applauded for the work they do in a very busy environment. Food excellent, breakfast especially was wonderful. My little one loved the pancakes! . A special thank you for the girls in the lenny lions family creche. They made our holiday, I can't thank them enough for the few hours of peace to relax and dine. Management you have a great team, beautiful hotel, and excellent food with a 5 star attention to detail. Big thumbs up, we will be back :)!!!
Food was disappointing so bad, all tasted reheated , grease rolling around the plate Cocktails tasted like a whole mint tree was put into it and loads of sugar, not worth the price what so ever , the service was very bad to left waiting to be served and put down the back wouldn't Go again !
Lovely meal with our children as part of our stay over hotel package. Generous portions and very tasty. Activities provided for children.
Really enjoyed our meal and cocktails. The only thing that let the meal down was the dessert, I had the crumble and it just wasn't great plus a very small amount of custard was given which was actually lovely. I tried the lemon tart as well and didn't really think it was very good either so maybe they need to up their game in the pastry section but for a meal that was included in our package, it was nice and so was the breakfast the next morning.
Thank you Ted and your superb team for a very tasty afternoon tea. Great quality, selection, service and value for money. There was more than enough for two. Will definitely recommend to friends.
We had a lovely experience at the Arkle. Cesar and his team are really enthusiastic about their work and are so busy but make everyone feel really welcome. The children loved the experience and the atmosphere was lovely with an amazing pianist and singer in the bar playing wonderful music.
We had a party of 30. The food was very good, but unfortunately it took 3 hours for the main course to arrive which was totally outrageous. I was disappointed.
