About Arepa & Co - Bethnal Green
Arepa & Co is the home of the Venezuelan food in London. Our food is a mix of authentic Venezuelan recipes and our own creative expression which are inspired by Venezuelan ingredients. We are located under the arches of the overground on Paradise Row, the trendy street of Bethnal Green. Our food is a combination of cornbread, back beans, fried plantains, avocados and coupled with tasty shredded beef, pork loin or delicious roasted vegetables. We offer a selection of small and big plates to both share and indulge in. Brunch is definitely not to be missed and in case you ask, we also have a broad variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes and most of our food is gluten free.
Wonderful service and delicious food.
Food was great. Service was awful. Waitress was rude and clearly felt that checking ingredients for allergy ingredients (which were stated on the booking) was too much hassle. Examples being "oh god" and roll of the eyes when asked to check something and then within view of our table moaning to the manager about the requests made (all related to gluten free which the restaurant markets itself as aware of on its menu). To top it off she ignore the request for no beans on a meal and brought it over with them, barely apologised for the mistake. Manager was polite when we complained but only knocked the "discretionary" service charge off the bill. Such a shame the restaurant was let down by the service. Wouldn't go back and will not recommend it.
The beef was great!
Very slow service, basically ignored. Food was good but too much ice in cold drinks.
All the food is very good And very quick service
Staff very helpful, even though I screwed up my booking and then changed it again 90 minutes before we arrived. Food great, service great, music could be a little softer....
Very interesting and tasty food, must try Venezuelan again!
La comida Venezolana mas rica en Londres! Gracias.
We didn't order any meat items but everything we had was delicious. I'd particularly recommend the Yaca Chips and the dish with whipped cheese. These guys really know what they're doing with cheese!
A large group of us visited Arepa & Co with a Venezuelan in our midst. The food was authentic and very tasty and the staff were very helpful. The only slight downfall was that it was quite noisy so any conversations at the table had to be shouted.
Amazing food and cocktails, great service had a good time
Tasty food and lots of gluten free options which is great. But it was more casual than I expecting and the food was a little dry, more sauce would have been good
Very cool atmosphere - spacious, friendly staff, unusual and tasty food. Prices are extremely reasonable for London, and we left with full stomachs. Will come here again!
Food was delicious. Had tried the dinner menu previously and this time we went for brunch. Equally amazing. Very good service as well. I totally recommend it!
We had our team Christmas party for 20 people here. The booking process was a little clunky but the guys were great at accommodating all our last minute changes. The food was brilliant and it was great for us to have the mezzanine floor all to ourselves with a designated and very attentive waiter. The service was great in general and the price was very reasonable. The general comment from the team was that if was great to have something different instead of the usual underwhelming, mass produced Christmas set menus and everyone really enjoyed the great food and the great atmosphere. Thanks guys!
Delicious food and excellent service - would highly recommend
Lovely atmosphere, great food. Will be returning!
Great food., good service! Went with a group of 15 for lunch and it was great. Also fantastic in planning ahead!
Excellent traditional food with products from Venezuela.
Awful service. We arrived to find our booked table wasn't ready, which would be ordinarily fine if that was the only problem. We were shortly seated to our table which did not have a Menu on it. After 10mins of no one coming to our table I went up and asked for a menu. Another 10mins passed and still no waiter came to our table, so again I had to grab someone’s attention. 5mins later we gave our order to the waiter (2 drinks and 2 mains). 15 mins later (now 35 mins after we sat down) we still had no drinks or even water on the table. Our food came - and it was tasty, but I had to remind the waiter for our drinks. They were clearly understaffed that night , but the place is small, and it shouldn't take over half an hour to get a drink. On the night we didn’t kick up a fuss about the fact no waiter acknowledged us the whole time were there, and they didn’t seem that bothered anyway. I’ve never complained or written a bad review before, but the service was so bad I felt the need to. Such a shame because the food did taste good. But it was the worse service I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
All super. Had Sunday brunch. Will be back... yummy food.
Friendly service, great food and lively atmosphere
Great little place with friendly service. Fried chicken Arepa is highly recommended
