About Aqua Portishead
Aqua Italia is now open in Portishead – with a view of the Marina and a large piazza for alfresco dining, and a light and airy restaurant, this will become a classic Aqua venue.
Came here for a last minute meal for my birthday. Very glad we came to the restaurant. As a chef I appreciated the food and how it was plates and both me and my partner left feeling looked after and full!
Pleasant atmosphere to suit all ages. We all enjoyed what we ordered. Like the small dessert with coffee option.
First time we have been - great food and service.
very enjoyable lunch in the sun, good service booked again for next week!
We live locally and are regular customers but unfortunately had a poor experience in the previous visit. Following the review the manager spoke to us and kindly sent some vouchers to make up for it. We returned for Sunday lunch and couldn’t have been happier, the food was as delicious as we normally experience and the service from Harry was first class. Thanks for taking note of our previous complaints and helping us get confidence back in your restaurant, we will definitely be back.
Great food at a good price. Staff were ace
Disappointing that professionals can not prepare a decent poached egg on toast in 2 attempts !
Table was booked for 20:30hrs. Didn’t get seated until 20:50hrs. Food not served until 21:30hrs (mains, no starters). Food could have been warmer. Quality of food was good though.
Good food excellent service.
Terrible experience. Took 1 hour 30 min to receive main course and no starter ordered. Excessive noise from other large party in restaurant and no attempt by staff to ask the party to reduce noise and respect other diners. When food did arrive fillet steak was well overcooked and side veg was minimal. All in all very disapointed.I also have a party of 7 attending Aqua again this Saturday so I truly hope the experience is not repeated.
Food was very slow. A very loud table nearby made it difficult to hold a conversation between us. The food was good when it arrived though.
Great food , the cocktails are amazing.
I’ve visited this restaurant many times. On my latest visit, it was a struggle. We ordered off the early bird menu (two courses). Our main was not the linguine on the early bird menu, so we told the waiter and we agreed to have the main for the early bird price. I ordered a wine, it didn’t come, so I had to re order again with a different waiter. The bill was wrong because of the earlier mistake so we had to ask for it to be reduced accordingly. A bit of a shambolic visit tbh but I was with a group of friends and I didn’t want to complain, even though it wasn’t the best service. Based on this visit, I would struggle to recommend but I know the food is great and I love the setting.
We arrived to find that our table wasn't ready but this was dealt with after a short wait. We were advised that there was a new menu. However after much analysis it became obvious that the new menu is not a patch on it's predecessor. Consequently we chose not to dine and left. We've dined at all Bristol Aqua restaurants over the past several years but I'm sorry to say that we will no longer visit until the menu is revised and is worthy of patronage. Very disappointing!!
Unfortunately the table where we were originally seated was close to a large party who were rather noisy. The waitress moved us to another table. The air conditioning made the room cold (other diners wore coats!) but again the waitress came to the rescue. The only real issue is that there is a lot of background noise - more soft furnishings? However food was excellent!
The food was excellent as always, and I think everyone was happy with their meals. I did think that the service was a bit slow to start with as we had already pre-ordered and were there on time, so we probably had a bit longer lunchtime than we should have. The staff were helpful and efficient and you were very helpful when it came to sorting out the bill!
The mushroom risotto had a strange taste and was inedible but replaced with no issues.
Love the bottomless brunch and outdoor seating area. Our waitress was so lovely and friendly.
Very impressed with the changes to their new menu. We tried many of the new dishes and was very impressed. The service as always, is very friendly and welcoming. The food service has slowed lately and we were waiting for over 45 minutes for our order. Will return and hopefully it’s quicker next time.
Very good fresh food in a decent location!
No parking but can park opposite in Lidl or Waitrose for 2 Hours but it took longer than that to serve 2 courses. Service very bad.
Sadly my large wine was very expensive as there are no measures are equivalent to a 250ml glass. I would have appreciated this being explained clearly to me as my one glass of wine cost more than my meal
I don't feel that customers should be made to pay a service charge without a choice. I always leave a tip for the staff but I like it to be my choice what I leave not compulsory!
The meal, drinks and service were superb. I rated food & drink only 4 because I didn’t like the fish cakes very much. That’s purely down to personal choice not because there was anything wrong with them.
Very pleased with our meals at Aqua Portishead, we visit fairly regularly and always consistently good. They also do gluten free meals which suits me fine. Staff always pleasant and attentive. Would recommend!
